This work couldn't be read without a program - "Program, Program. Can't tell a character from a chapter heading without a Program!" Said Program missing a number of pages from the back; continued in Program Two. I'll leave the work in its free ebook form until I'm ready to afford Book Two.
I have to be honest, I was a little thrown by the colloquialisms in the beginning (and a few editing oversights) but once you get your head around it, it is a thrilling read. This episodic approach to a much bigger story is almost television-like with the story told from different characters' PoV. The ending took me by surprise and I hope you will be kept at the egde of your seat to the very end too. I will definitely read the rest of this series of episodes.
It reminded me of the old hard boiled, dime store detective stories I liked as a kid, but the Cajun flavor was unmistakable. Though it took me a bit, I figured out the whodunit, but did not foresee the ending. Nice twist.
The only reason I dropped a star is a little editing that was missed that left a few sentences confusing. They broke the flow a little.
All I have to say is wow! I know how it all works in a small town wiTh politics and Scott has hit it right on the head. With how things go in order to get a vote. This book was a quick read and it had a lot of twist and turns and a very surprising ending. Jone well done.
