In this final volume of Anima, the secret of Cooro's past is finally revealed as the group makes it to Astaria. But when they learn of the relationship between Cooro and Fry, this friendly team may be torn apart. What are those who are seeking the Anima really plotting? And what choices will the characters make when given the opportunity to rid themselves of their animal selves...forever?
I love these books! They are so adorable and lovable. They are well-thought out and interesting and wonderful. Her characters all seem so real. They all have problems and really specific and personal histories that go back pretty far. Her characters aren't perfect, and she is able to make them come to life and feel like real human beings. I love the idea behind this manga. I love the idea of being able to transform into an animal and have cool powers and be special. (I wish I could do it. That would be so cool!) My best friends gave these to me to read. They were the first manga I ever read in my entire life and I didn't get it at first. They had the books and I tried reading it, but I couldn't figure out how to read it backwards, and so the first book they read it out loud to me <3 Aren't they sweet? Anyways, I decided that I wanted to continue reading them online, and I was just planning to just look at +Anima a little bit and I ended up reading like the first 7 books in two days (It would've been sooner except I had school and sleep and whatnot, stupid distractions!) Senri is my favorite!! He is so adorable! I definitely recommend these books to those who love mangas, and to those who love animals, and to those who love interesting stories. This is a very good series with wonderful writing and amazing art!
Und das Ende der Serie. Irgendwie seltsam, wie es sich auflöst. Schade.
The series comes to a close as friendship is tested when Cooro's past comes into question. But the ultimate question is 'Why do you need your Anima?' Once you don't need it, it will leave you. But how will you know when you're ready?
Overall, this series is whimsical and delightful but it deals with darker subjects like slavery and prejudice. There are also elements of mental illness and emotional trauma as well so that may appeal to some readers. Personally, I found the series entertaining, though the ending seemed a bit rushed. I would recommend it to younger readers around ages 7 or up.
There are unanswered questions and no insight into what the characters plan to do with their lives. I would like more information. A chapter at the end, of the future with the group grown up or something, would have been cool.
Un manga de mi adolescencia que dejé a medias en su momento. Ahora lo he releído completo y me sigue encantando, es muy tierno y entretenido. No he sabido que la autora era una mujer hasta ahora, y eso hace que me guste aun más.
A plot twist and a great wholesome ending. If the author ever decided to re-explore these characters i would be overjoyed, but i’m very content to imaging them living on in happiness.

Cooro and Husky aren't like other boys. They're anima, children with animal features and qualities. After breaking free of their servitude at a cruel freakshow circus, they go on a journey in search of others like themselves. Cooro is a crow and Husky is a fish. As they travel the world doing good deeds, they recruit a bear boy, a cat woman and a bat girl. Together they get into all kinds of wacky antics while fighting against the oppression their kind faces on a daily basis.
The low rating isn't because this series is bad, it's just extremely cliche and childish in my opinion. I think it would be good for young kids who have no experience reading manga. It's extremely light, simple, easy to follow and doesn't contain anything overly violent, dark or sexual in nature. For someone like me who generally reads books and manga with excessive gore, dark themes and adult content it definitely didn't appeal to me that much, even though I was in the mood to read something lighter than I'm accustomed to.
Not a bad manga, just not for me. Even so, it's undeniably cute and wholesome. I think it would appeal to kids and young girls, especially if they have minimal experience reading manga.

I was right in thinking that one volume was not enough to finish the story. I was glad to finally find out about Cooro's origins (really disturbing imagery though...), but the research part just fell flat to me. At least Nana and Husky made the choices I wanted them to in the end. I wish Cooro hadn't turned into such a passive character. He seemed so bold and eager for life in all the other volumes. The fact that he regarded his promise to Fly as more important than his own happiness was just extremely sad. I liked Fly before this volume, but his manipulation of Cooro made him an awful person. Also, we kept seeing Blanca throughout the story, but she and the older researcher aren't explained nearly well enough for me. The author says there may be more to the stories that will be addressed in a later set of volumes, but that just isn't justification for rushing this story and leaving so much hanging.
This was a fantastic conclusion to an amazing manga series. I was very disappointed when it ended, and I really wish that there were more than just ten volumes. The series overall was very comedic and lighthearted, but this volume wrapped it up beautifully with a heartrending twist and an emotional decision. I don't think it could have been done better. Normally I wouldn't want to spend $10 each for manga books that take me 45 minutes to read, but I think I'm going to buy this series just because it was so wonderful and memorable that I want to own it so that I will always remember it and be able to pick it up any time I want to reread this fantastic story. Now comes the trouble of finding another series that can match this one!
This book swept me away to this other wonderful world. The setting was brilliantly set. I could totally see it in my mind. But the characters were definitely my favorite part. They are all so colorful, interesting, exciting, and hilarious. The main character is just perfect. The plot moved fast enough that I couldn't stop reading lest I miss something, but the author still took the time to flesh out the details. The details are what really make or break a story.
The only born +anima, huh? Why am I not surprised? I have to say pieces of this series were fairly predictable, but it was still enjoyable. I liked the concept and the characters a lot in this book. They are all just so adorable. I finally got my overall plot, and I am satisfied with this piece.
Quick thoughts: Not at all what I expected, but a strong, logical, emotional end for +Anima. All the answers due the reader were delivered, several surprising details added context and depth to what we had seen before, and despite some of the grand themes of the manga the scope of the ending was appropriate. As with any series this had its ups and downs but overall +Anima was a great read.
While this is the final with the series I just wish there was a chapter of the gang as adults to see what they are doing. If their +Anima have stayed with them or do they no longer have a need for that power.
So besides the need to see if the +anima powers stay with the gang (Or where they end up) is just a good story.
I loved this series and the art work is amazing but the only problem is that the final book really confused me when I read it the first time and it still confuses me now! It might just be me being thick but I would really recommend this book!
I wasn't pleased with the way this series ended. It was flowing quite nicely, but then it just mashed all this stuff together in the end. It was not what I had expected at all and I'm very disappointed. So many questions I had were left unanswered.
All in all, I enjoyed the beatiful art, fun characters and occasional poignant moment. But the series on the whole ends up feeling rushed and unable to make the most out of its potential.
