I wish I could give this book 5 stars, but I can't. I thought with the title stating, "9-11 A Tribute", that there would be more pictures/stories of the firefighters, police officers, emergency workers, rescue teams etc, but sadly there are not.
Instead we get over 30 pages talking about Prime Minister Tony Blair and over half of the pages in the book dedicated to the President at the time.
Thankfully I found a much better 9-11 Tribute book to the men and women who are heroes. Will post review later this week.

This is one book that should be in every public library, and a book that everyone should read at this time in our nation's history (2025). It is a book like I've never seen before on 9-11, and it really resonated with me. This has incredible photography; some photos coming from the Department of Defense. Photos are in black and white and in color. Some have never been published before, and were within the government archives.

If you were alive and old enough to remember where you were on that horrific day, this book will mean that much more to you, because in it you will find every speech that was made by President Bush, Rudy Guiliani (mayor of New York), and members of the Bush Administration, speeches by Tony Blair (U.K.), and so many leaders from all around the world. I've never seen such a collection of speeches so meaningful in all of my reading about 9-11.

One thing this massive volume shows the reader, is that we were never alone as a country; countries that even were odds with us at times politically were quick to come to our aid...whatever they could do to help and aid our nation and it's people. It showed we a world that "used to be". We have managed to end up severing many of those most important ties and help with our economic needs. We no longer talk about all of us as "Americans"; even those immigrants who come from different countries, backgrounds, color, beliefs, and religions. We were all ONE. It's not like that anymore. It makes me very nostalgic for those times that were, and wishing that they were still that way in this nation.

By reading this book now, and I have read many on 9-11, I realize that although we have tried to improve our airport security, air-traffic controller situations, immigration policies, and appreciating our likenesses and differences, we still have such a long way to go. All of the world is in this world and life together, as are its' people. That day, and the weeks and months following it, made all of us in this country grateful for all of our friends and allies in this world.

That is something we need to revisit now.

Do you remember where you were when 9-11 happened?
