Hitchhiker
CA. valley. Devon Hill (26) had been killed.
David (driver) offered Ron (aka hitchhiker, serial killer) a ride.
David was going to Salem to pick up Laura (wife), & their son Tony (4).
They stopped at a convenience store to buy pop.
Then later a stop to eat dinner.
What were David & Ron discussing?

Sixtus
Zack (15, nerd, polydactyly) knew he had to do something, or Jeremy would not be his friend anymore.
Zack’s Mom & Dad ruled the roost.
Detective Roger Hall was running out of patience with Zack.
His parents were brutally murdered.
Zack was now living with Aunt Clarisse.
Lenny Walden (17, Zack’s schoolmate, bully) was the next to be killed.
MA. What were Zack, & Jeremy discussing in the car?

Intoxication
Leslie returned from ladies’ room & noticed Rick (37) had drunk almost all her poisoned coffee that Helen Romero (Fullerton State U; marketing) had brought to her office.
He knew it wasn’t his coffee cup.
Helen was in a Santa Ana hospital being treated for poisoning.
Leslie went to see her.

Dark Luck
7/9/2013, Ted Duplass (43, husband/father) just won $392 million in the California state lottery.
Ted waved goodbye to Long Beach City College.
Joe (18, youngest son/brother), Nora wife/mother), Mike (son/brother), & Pete (son/brother) were set up for the rest of their lives.
A few days later Steve Sandes a Merrill Lynch financial advisor & Ted Met.
Next, a new 5-bedroom house in Encino Reservoir.
Then the reality of homeowner’s/life insurance.

The Dreamer
Dr. Stanley Richard Blake (MD, PhD, psychiatrist UCLA, U of California), & Richard (husband/father, schizophrenic) were caught up in their session together.
What happened in a later session?

Scorned

Who is Mario?

Deception
Dean Harris’ (27, Jeff’s BMF, restaurant co-owner, Cambridge) maggot eaten dead body was found in his house.
It seems the body in the morgue was not Dean.
It was Patrick Flynn (ex-convict).
Gabi Mornell (Jeff’s GF, Boston real estate management co. marketing) was interviewed.
She had not seen Jeff for a while.
Captain Tom Webb asked Detective Miranda Murphy how the case was going?
Will Detective Murphy solve the crime & bring someone to justice?

A very awesome book cover, & great font/writing style. 7 very well written mystery short stories (book). They were all very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. They all could also make great mystery movies, or better yet a mini TV series. Didn’t like all of them so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.

What’s better than a Tim Kaiser story, how about seven of them. I knew when I first received this book that I was in for great entertainment and I wasn’t wrong. I love Tim kaisers riding it is witty, Intelligent, intriguing, mysterious and most importantly entertaining. This is a book I can recommend with confidence. As soon as I was done reading I told my husband to read the first story because it was so good and he did he read the first the second all the way until the last. Do you self a favor and get this book.

I did really enjoy these stories. They were entertaining and fun to read; a bit ott and unrealistic at times, but relatable nevertheless.

My ONLY issue is with the final story, Deception. Presumably the detective, Miranda, was originally a man? There are many instances in the copy I read where Miranda is referred to as "he" and "him", but despite being off putting, it didn't detract from the tale being told. It's easily fixable.

Thank you for the enjoyable read!

Quite a varying genre of good stories

Enjoyable reading, and each story is quite different from the others. Sometimes I'd have preferred longer endings. Each is quite readable.

Of all the stories in this book, there was only one that peaked my interest. The other stories are semi-psychological stories that did not interest me. I think Mr Kizer is a good writer but for a certain kind of reader.

Seven twisted tales with gore and a touch of irony. Definitely may keep me awake tonight.
