Only One Can Survive The Reckoning
Erin Radkey has always known the day would come when she would have to personally confront the Triad leader of the power-hungry Emporium. But she never thought it would be with a snake in her head that feeds on her energy. Or that she’d be in the company of an uncertain ally who might turn on her at any moment.

The stakes are high as new intel uncovers a startling Emporium plot that will catapult the entire world into war. Erin is determined to save not only the mortals but also her friends—even if it means sacrificing herself and her newfound love for Ritter Langton.

Ritter is just as determined to save Erin and prevent what would usher in the most bloody century the world has ever known, but even he might not recognize the person she becomes.

Every day the enemy grows stronger. There will be no second chance.

Teyla Branton

Teyla Rachel Branton grew up avidly reading science fiction and fantasy and watching Star Trek reruns with her large family. They lived on a little farm where she loved to visit the solitary cow and collect (and juggle) the eggs, usually making it back to the house with most of them intact. On that same farm she once owned thirty-three gerbils and eighteen cats, not a good mix, as it turns out. Teyla always had her nose in a book and daydreamed about someday creating her own worlds. She is now married, mostly grown up, and has seven kids, so life at her house can be very interesting (and loud), but writing keeps her sane. She thrives on the energy and daily amusement offered by her children, the semi-ordered chaos giving her a constant source of writing material. Grabbing any snatch of free time from her hectic life, Teyla writes novels full of mystery, romance, and imagination. She warns her children that if they don’t behave, they just might find themselves in her next book! She’s been known to wear pajamas all day when working on a deadline, and is often distracted enough to burn dinner. (Okay, pretty much 90% of the time.) A sign on her office door reads: DANGER. WRITER AT WORK. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. She loves writing fiction and traveling, and she hopes to write and travel a lot more. She also loves shooting guns, martial arts, and belly dancing. She has worked in the publishing business for over twenty years.

This is the 4th book in the Unbounded series, the stakes grow higher and the pace gets quicker. This book was another great and clean read.

Erin has always known that eventually she would have to confront the Triad leader who can get into her mind. She never expected to face her by having a snake in her head that feeds on her energy. Erin is so afraid of this snake and even after taking precautions, she doesn’t want to let her Renegade family down. After learning of a new plot by The Emporium that could cause damage to the entire world. Erin is determined to save mortals and her family. Ritter knows Erin and he is determined to not let her sacrifice herself. All Erin knows is the snake in her head is growing stronger and she must face her worst nightmare alone.

This is one of those book which I couldn’t stop reading, but last night I had to because I was way past my bedtime.
Today I finished reading it.

I just wanted to know what was going to happen next.
With Erin and the snake in her head.
With Erin and Ritter and their relationship.
With their mission to save the world from lots of lots of deaths.
With their fight against the evil emporium and their evil and nasty leader who is hurting Erin.
And what was happening with the other main characters which are great too.

This is not a standalone, to understand it you have to read the other books in this series.
You won’t regret it when you like reading about action, super natural powers, good and evil and fighting on the right side.

Can’t wait to read more in this series.

The need to protect the innocent from total control by the unbounded never ends

As Erin, Ritter, Keene, and the rest of the other renegades work to keep humanity safe they must find a way to explain their existence. While they continue to keep their existence hidden, they cannot remain hidden forever. Just as the unbounded work to make themselves the heroes, when their true natures are exposed. The renegades must make sure the story is told as truthfully as they can make it. The adventure is fast and fun, the characters solid, and the battles entertaining as each side rushes to win the race.

This series have been fun to read and it doesn’t disappoint. It has everything in you could ask for in a action packed book. Betrayal, cliffhanger’s, love, the will to survive, power hungry bad guys, the blurred lines morals for the good guys, straight and narrow morals good guys, how far would you go to save the ones you love?

Very likeable characters even the ones you should hate. Yes, you need to hate the bad guys of the story, but they are to fascinating to hate. The imagination that it takes to write such a story/series incredible.

Meh! I think of all the Unbounded books, this one was my least fave and the whole scene in the hotel room with Delia was sooo ridiculous and utter nonsense. Had this book been an earlier book, I probably wouldn't continue with the series. However, there's only one book left and I have invested sooo much time and energy into this series, I will see it to the end.

I'm still in a state of confusion!!

Lol. I'm still in the state if wonderment that I have been grabbed by this series, which is SO out of my comfort zone regarding my literary history!!! A little exhausting, not quite enough "down time",, but pretty entertaining, for sure!!! Try one!! You'll like it !! 🤗

This story was just so satisfying

There was constant action yet still On intensity of the characters to bring every single 1 of them to life. I also was content with the way they wrapped up many of the threads throughout the books up till now.It does feel like that the next book starts a new chapter.

So I am really over the MC in this series. Everything is about her and she is always right and better than everyone else. I find the other characters in the book way more likeable and interesting. The way this book ended was really good and enough that I am going to finish the series here.

I enjoyed it... just maybe not quite as much as the first three. I can't say why... maybe I just got a bit burned out on them.

I have enjoyed the entire series. It is consistently well written and engaging. The ending leaves an opening for another series, perhaps, but it feels like all the major conflicts are addressed. This installment continues with Erin's first person perspective. She has grown in her knowledge and confidence since the first book, The Change. Each successive volume has seen her acquiring more and more control over her newfound ability but there is always some associated cost or difficulty. In this book she has become as badass as her love interest, Ritter and in many ways her skills complement his as much as they seem to emotionally complete one another. They both have a vendetta of two to settle with the Emporium. Like all their Renegade friends they would prefer to get on with their lives, however extended they might be, and the Emporium (and specifically Delia) stands in the way.

I read the last half of the book in one sitting. The reason I didn't read the entire book straight through was the time constraint of other obligations not a reflection on the quality of the story. I kept coming back to the book whenever I could. I'm not sure which of the four books I liked best or even if it matters much. I preferred The Escape, Book 3, as I found that particular storyline more intriguing as it brought the Hunters more fully into the conflict. In this installment it is almost entirely a battle between he Renegades and the Emporium - as it needs to be to complete the series. Scores must be settled and disasters prevented and largely it falls to Erin to make the choices - with a lot of help from her friends.

This has been a series I have really enjoyed reading from the beginning. It is fast paced and charged with tension and danger.

Erin is one super tough chick. If we are picking teams, I go first and she is on my team. Erin and Ritter are a powerhouse couple when they are working together. In the very rare down time to this book, Erin and Ritter make out. Fight the enemy or make out. It's either one or the other. ha ha.

Not only are Erin and friends trying to figure out the Emporiums latest plot to take over the world, but Erin is fighting against the "snake" in her head. It feeds on her energy especially when she uses her super powers so Erin tries to reserve and conserve. The whole book you know a face off is coming between Erin and the leader of the Emporium and you are just waiting for it. When it comes, BAM.

I love the sense of family between Erin and her friends. They fight together, each using their special and individual powers, but it's more than that. They have a connection that goes beyond their work. They are loyal to each other and they would each give their own lives to protect the others. I like how they all know each other so well that they all just click into place.

This was another great addition to this series. The ending left me in a good place with Erin and Ritter, which I was happy about but I sense there is more to come. Yes, more to come for sure and I can't wait to read it.

The Reckoning (Unbounded, #4) by Teyla Branton Published 2014
HAVE YOU BOUGHT THESE BOOKS YET?! If not you should I mean OMGK(OH MY GOOD KNEE) they just keep getting better and better. Erin's love life is about to full fill readers hopes with an epic dose of romance and then the plot thickens. Evil plots of terrorism make this book a nonstop nail biting read that will not leave you disappointed. The characters had more depth than the first book and each had a purpose to the story line. I loved the chemistry between the two primary characters and it was written so well without resorting to graphic sex. I also loved the author's detail throughout but especially when it came to Erin and being in her mind.

Ritter. I totally like this man- he's come such a long way from that first person when I just might not have liked him!

I enjoyed being back into the Unbounded world. It had been way too long since I got to enjoy this world.

Is this a standalone book? No. This is most definitely not a book that you would want to read without having read the previous books in the series. You would be completely clueless about the world - specifically the abilities of the Unbounded.
You definitely need to read the previous books to understand.

Is this a book that I'd recommend? Yes, I would! Especially if you read the other books in the series.

If you've never entered the Unbound world, I definitely suggest dip your toes into it, with the first book in the series.

First, I would like to thank the author Teyla Branton for gifting me the books The Cure book #2, The Escape book #3 and The Reckoning book #4 for an honest review. I got The Change book #1 for free from Amazon. From book 1 to this book has been an amazing action packed journey. These books are good, the author has done an awesome job with her world building. The story-lines are very good. The characters are well written although some could have had more development than they had, but overall the author did a good job developing the characters. I enjoyed reading this series and I am looking forward to reading more of the series and more from this author.

We're back but this time it ends. Engage pout/whine sequence. Honestly, this is one of a few series that I have read every book in it. Teyla's writing style pulls you in and makes you a part of the story.

Erin has really grown and come into her own and Ritter compliments her so well.

No spoilers here, but all I can say is that the characters are engaging as always, the action is fast and delivered very well and the entire plot is a pleasure.

I was very happy with the ending of this book but I will say this.......

I definitely have a feeling that there is more to come. And I can't wait to read it!!!

Disappointed!!!

Although the storyline is a great one and the book is well written I am greatly disappointed that after reading four books in this series the main characters still have not consummated their relationship. They got married and it's still one interruption after another. After the second book I felt their chemistry fizzle and their relationship became a non factor, in book four I had to go back to book one to feel the connection between the characters. When I read a book I want to be lost in the story, not trying desperately to reconnect to the characters and how they had made me feel!! Sometimes a sequel is not worth it, should have stopped at book two.

This was so intense! Erin and Ritter are finally close to committing to a permanent relationship, but then the evil Delia strikes a blow that Erin might not be able to recover from. I’ve been wondering when Delia would return to the stage so I could boo and hiss…and get your lungs ready for some major booing and hissing because she is at her most evil best! Great 4th book. I haven’t tired of this series. The characters are semi-superheroes and there are always new evils to conquer…and in this one, it’s a pretty big doozey of an evil plot. Great writing!

Full of Action

Ms. Brantons Unbounded series is all full of action and adventure. Erin went through so much in this novel just to find some peace with herself. Ritter continues to play a major role in her life as he is of course her other half. All the characters had to make sacrifices and choices that didn't always play out to their benefit but neither does it in real life. I foresee pandemonium in the next installment coming later this year. The unbounded is now in the open and there will be many more battles to come before it is all over.
