I really enjoyed this book. It provides a detailed and engaging account of Christopher Columbus's famous voyage and the subsequent discovery of America. The story is told in the form of a novel from the perspective of a young Italian who is forced to join the expedition against his will, making it both immersive and entertaining.
The narrative is highly readable, and the author has drawn extensively on historical sources to portray Columbus's words, as well as the many incidents and hardships of the voyage, as accurately as possible. The book also concludes with around ninety notes explaining various statements, events, and beliefs held by the sailors.
Overall, I found it both an interesting and educational read, and I'm glad it broadened my understanding of this significant chapter in human history.
