N.K. Sondhi:
N.K. Sondhi’s first book was 'Management of Banking', which draws upon his experiences as a manager in the Punjab National Bank. He then turned to fiction writing, bringing forth the seen and unseen aftermaths of the partition of India in 1947 in his novel 'Cart full of Husk'. He followed it up with a short non-fiction, 'Forgotten City of Delhi (How Delhi became Delhi)'. He wrote his next book, 'A Match Made in Heaven: A 2000-year-old love story', based on the life of an Indian princess, who became first queen of Korea in 48 AD.

Working with young people as he pursued social activities after his retirement, he sensed the restlessness among youngsters, who are facing a large number of problems due to stiff neck to neck competition in every field of life. Growing use of advanced technology has further alienated them from the main stream of the society. This has led him to initiate this book 'Know Your Worth' with the young and enterprising writer Ms. Vibha Malhotra.

She is also a poet and a translator. Her work has been published in literary journals across the world such as Wasafiri, Muse India, Tipton Poetry Journal, The Luxembourg Review, Red Fez, and in dailies such as The Times of India and Ceylon Today. 'Know Your Worth' is her first work as an author.

INVEST IN YOURSELF

Now that you know that you have superpowers that are there within you and can be harvested whenever you need them, it is important to take time to really explore all your strengths and weaknesses. Only then can you be fully prepared to achieve your goals. But we are mostly clueless that understanding ourselves doesn’t have to be a slow, tedious process, it can always be sped up.
All of us are born with inherent likes and dislikes. Even a fetus in the womb has its own taste preferences, resulting in the seemingly irrational food cravings that expecting mothers experience. These preferences, likes, and dislikes are clues to the things you will be good at. If a child enjoys painting more than singing, chances are that the child will be better at painting than he/she is at singing. You can think of these as clues that nature chose to expose to us so that we can carve a satisfying path for ourselves.
Most of us, even as adults, have whims, and mostly we choose to ignore them. Even as children, we are rarely able to indulge in every whim. There are always limitations – in terms of time, finances, facilities etc. – to keep us from fully exploring what we are capable of. But these are not the only factors that stop us. The biggest factor, in fact, is our own inhibitions, especially once we are grown-ups. We are afraid of new experiences, afraid of disappointment, afraid of failure, afraid of making fools of ourselves. And this fear keeps us from taking advantage of opportunities to gather new experiences. Let us try to understand this with the example of a young girl called Shikha.

Shikha and the Ideation Competition
Shikha was an editor at a publishing house. She was very good at her job and apart from being an excellent editor, she also often propose...

Know Your Worth is a radiantly illustrated book in researching your inner self and finding your potential. It has the answer for every style of a situation in personal, professional, spiritual, financial, and parenting aspects.

We all run the rat race from dawn to dusk; some are slow runners, some are fast runners, and some are multi-talented. Every individual is gifted with a talent and is unique from others.
The book clearly explains, in pursuing the talent and acknowledging it. It begins from believing in yourself, never to compare, your purpose in life, self-motivation and, self-appreciation. Consequently, finding yourself is a process, master it, acknowledge the superpower, and be grateful. We all strive to be a better version of ourselves; a little lift turns the rocky road into a smooth ride.

Quote, I like:
"If one road is blocked there are others we can follow. And if there are no new roads, there’s always the earth on which we can make a new road."

“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough”.

• The book is broadly classified into 14 chapters a treasure of success and inner peace. Page189 sheds light upon 8 successful personalities on their road to success, which is a treat to read.
• The language used in the book is simple and clear.
• The cover and title are apt for the content.
• Each chapter is well organized and researched with inspiring anecdotes and motivational quotes for better understanding.
• There are numerous quotes coined by great authors and legends.
If you are looking for self-help and motivational writing then this book is a valuable resource for your personal and professional growth.

This is one such book that advises, encourages, inspires, cautions while leading you into yourself so that you can know your strength and weaknesses. But all this may prompt you to conclude that such a book could be/ is bound to be uninteresting, dull and dragging. On the contrary, to a potential reader’s disbelief, it is never dull or dragging; it is rather interesting.
That is because it is episodic; every chapter, every section of this well organized, thoroughly planned, and well researched book is laden with examples, inspiring stories of success and the secrets behind those achievements. Every page, every chapter is made attractive by illustrations from among people, from among us. That relates; that becomes your story, may be your friend’s too.
There are uncountable quotable sentences/phrases, both coined by the smithy authors and of course from the works of great minds: ‘…goals are dreams with feet.’ P.40; ‘…worry gives small things a big shadow.’ P.65; ‘ It’s our life and it’ an open road.’ P.68. etc.
The following are a few phrases from among those which sparkle through the pages and constitute the atmosphere of the book: ‘public ridicule’, ‘team spirit’, ‘aiming high’, ‘potential within’, ‘self esteem’, ‘carrying past baggage’ etc.
I award this book four stars.
It was a giveaway gift to me.

This book allows a reader to relax and absorb the subtle messages and understanding through mini stories. No pointed finger but merely a suggestive on how one might react to certain situations or possible outcomes of ones actions.
Not a difficult read, messages are clear. Certainly a read for someone venturing into the self help for the first time. This is a good place to start as there is nothing that will scare you or make you run for the hills. And for those mature readers a few aspects that might have been missing previously.
Understanding is the key we all look for in a situation of how we perceive and be perceived. A preverbal bird's eye view that sometimes can allude even the best of us. We all strive to become better versions of ourselves and a little help along the way makes a rocky road seem a bit more smooth and a little less daunting.

How much I loved reading this book can't be measured, but one thing which I can say for sure is, I just didn't want it to end, the examples of every topic they shared touched and connected with my present life.
Its worth reading, very simple language used which is why it could connect so deeply. I would suggest everyone to read it. A very beautifully written book.

If you think you are not good. This book helps you in gaining some insights about your value. It tells you a lot about individual behaviour. The book has examples after every saying. Which helps in visualizing the problems.

At best average, examples used feel unreal, too boring. The book was not as inspiring or say worth its cover, I literally bought this book for its cover and the back cover review. The points mentioned are self explanatory but the examples that follow are boring and unreal, Actually I stopped reading the book midway but then completed expecting some miracle somewhere in the book later on. I couldn't connect with the book.
But a book is a book, at least it teaches you something or the other so no regrets reading it.

Nice Book! Read it, While traveling!

The book is easy to read and has some important principles for our day to day life. The genre "self help" is something I follow, so after reading some books on the same genre, this book loses its shrine. The short stories mentioned here are worth reading and you would easily find some bookmarks for your takeaways. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who has lost some sight of his self belief and want to kick back with some more energy.
