What you reap what you sow!
That’s what Professor Peter McClean found out the hard way. This story had me so damned mad with what this man. This topic is so current in contemporary news lately. How could he prey on an innocent naive student like Kayla. My heart broke for her. But with a strong and loving family, she was able to recover and get back to her life.
This story about a man and his wife and their family. They’d been marriage for 18 years and had their ups and downs just like any other marriage. Everyone was envious of their relationship and desired to have a marriage like theirs.
Even though Paul Young’s family was rich and influential in their town and could have the pick of any woman around, he chose Alexann Williams, a sassy brown skinned, outgoing, and successful business woman in her own right. With Paul’s family vehemently against their relationship, Alexann was the only one he wanted, and he wanted her just as she was.
Katie wrote a very life like and telling story that was well plotted and written with enough drama to make one want to throw one’s Kindle across the room. The story line started off a little slow in the beginning but quickly picked up. Well done Katie

Okay!
While this is a Dowe I just had trouble getting into this book for some reason I couldn't fathom? The middle was where I felt like I could finish it. The attack on Kayla, Paul made daddy's everywhere proud!

Still got it. This book was quite interesting. It was a little hard starting from the end because so many times the author had to explain certain situations before moving on. Once everything was in place, the story was good. I understand how hard it is when your children are in circumstances and you just want to help them and keep them safe. I have gone through it also. Paul and Alexann have struggled through a lot of heartache, but their love has stood the test of time. I am curious how they met. I will be reading the next book as well.

Great start. Family pulling together through change is always great! Good book for those who enjoy short story with mature lovers. Alexann and Paul's love was "on fire" even as they grow old.
I am reading series. I want to see how the couple grew to such security. Author's idea of storytelling backward is different for me.

A fantastic love story. I love how it covers the ups and downs of an enduring relationship. The coverage of abuse was also realistic, jarring and a timely and much needed message. I like that the author did not sugar coat anything about the abuse or make the villain look anything less than the evil , manipulative jerk that he was.
