Another great read in this couple's series. Mick and Roz are one of my favourite couples in Ms Monroe's series. I love that Roz can throw down and beat someone's ass when they prove to be a snake. She is a true mafia wife. I just hope that Mick's sister does not prove to be a traitor. Definitely worth the read.
I love this series, but it can be hit or miss. I'm not a big fan of feeling like I'm being told versus shown the sequence of events. Many parts did not feel hashed out as well as it could have been. I'm looking forward to the next installment, but I hope it isn't a rehashing of old trope.
This installment was just ok. The first half was reminiscing of how much Mick and Roz love each other. The book got better towards the end. Not one of your must reads to me. Mick has always been untouchable, that still stands. His get a ways , his tunnels, I love. It's just the first half kinda blah-blah- blah. I'm still a BIG fan just a little disappointed in this book. I love Roz. Mick has one HELL of a wife. I can't wait until the next installment of The Gabrini family or The Sinatra family.
I don't know how author Mallory Monroe does it but with every single release she brings the fireeeeeeee!!!!!!
Mick the Tick is the Head of his Mafia Organization Plus his Legit Businesses. Nobody comes for Mick unless they want to live. An unexpected trip to Paris because of his shipments being short again opens up a whole portal that Mick could have never expected, it was a rabbit hole of epic proportions that has now spun completely out of control. His mission getting the hell out of Paris alive and back home to his right hand woman Rosalind Sinatra. Mick's out of town missions are starting to take its toll on him because now the thought of being away from his wife for more than one night is excruciating to him, Roz is the very breath that Mick breathes and who would have thought that would ever happen to him.
Rosalind Sinatra the wife of Mick the Tick, She is a mother not only to her twins with Mick but to his adult children. It hasn't always been easy but the road is trying to get smoother. Roz has her own fires to put out, she has a successful acting studio, she is one of the best agents in the business and yet even she is tried by others. Roz is her own woman but she is also the other half of Mick so when somebody tries to come for her, Mick puts them down quicker than they can blink and Roz does the same thing for Mick, even Mick's men in his organization knows that Roz is not to be trifled with. So when fire opens up on both sides of them, it will be up to them once again to put them out together.
Mick's adult children are really getting on my last good nerve and the crazy thing about it, they honestly think he isn't aware of what they are up to. Well except for Teddy because that young man moves like his father but now Teddy is going to have to own up to his huge mistakes and Mick is going to make him do it quickly. Gloria is a mess, she has zero common sense oh she is book smart but that is as far as the elevator goes up. Joey is just lost, he is trying way to hard and I am wondering what is it really going to take for him to grow the heck up.
Of course it is always great seeing Big Daddy Charles Sinatra, Mick's older brother but he dropped some tidbits about what is going on with his family that caught my attention. Then a bombshell dropped that I never saw coming and all I could say is, "WOOOOWWWWW" and that is going to be interesting when the author really digs into this story.
I am purposely behind in each of these series because once you start reading author Mallory Monroe's books, you can't put it down and then you realize that you have finished the books. So yes I definitely take my time when it comes to reading her stories LOL!!
The first time I reviewed this, I gave it 4 stars. This review I gave it 3 stars. There were too many characters introduced with no resolution for some of them. The story really jumped around and I had to keep rereading to keep up with it. Then, there's those dreaded errors. As soon as I think the editing is getting ready, I'm slapped with more of them and they're really noticeable in this book. Don't know if I'll continue with Mick's books. Is Amelia book written before the next Mick? I'll check. For comparison, I'm including my original review below. Even after reading the book, I can't figure out why I rated it four stars.
Can love really break a human's heart? It appears so. Mick is completely head over heels for Roz. Or, at least he finally acknowledged it. The more he realizes how much he loves Roz, the more he realizes how much he loves his grown children. Love does that to you. Mick allowed his children to get away with so much, I wondered if some other author was writing this book. There was enough of Mick the Tick to know that only the person who created him could show how he's changed, and even his weaknesses. He can still protect those he loves from all enemies - foreign and domestic, and he does. Don't want to spoil this book for others. However, the family reunion in this book leaves me waiting for more. Know that this is just the beginning of the family reunion. There's also a couple of things that I need to check in another Mick book. The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars is because of those recurring typos and incorrect grammar usage. I'm finally convinced that a lot of cutting and pasting is going on. Ms. Monroe's books would be so much better with proper editing. Irritating but not yet distracting. When I'm too distracted by the errors, I'll stop buying her books. I read plenty of books with excellent editing. The book is worth reading because there's a new, extremely interesting character who I can't wait to see interact with the rest of the family...... Spoiler Alert: She's not a Sinatra. She's kin on their mother's side. So, she's Mick and Charles sister but not on father's side so she's not a Sinatra. End of Spoiler Alert.... Also, want to see how the grown children fill or fail in their new positions. Can't wait to read more about the Sinatras. Really love Mick's new heart but want him to keep some of his "Tickness" because he will need it. Of course, Roz and Big Daddy and those Gabrinis will always have his back. Will his children
Mick and Roz handled crisis after crisis strongly together as they always do. I was surprised to read about their long lost sister Amelia. Some story lines seemed a little rushed. The relationship between Mick and his grown children is getting too redundant and mundane. At some point, Teddy, Gloria, and Joey have to take responsibility for their own life and decisions. It was great to see Mick being more affectionate in this book, and it didn't diminish his bad boy in any kind of way. He was still the ruthless person we all know and love when he had to be. I will love to see Mick, Charles, and Amelia's relationship grow into a good brother and sister relationship. He needs to have someone else in his corner besides Roz, Charles, and the Gabrinis.
Mick Sinatra: Breaking My Heart is an exciting and suspenseful romantic thriller that earned five stars. I found this book just as exciting as the other books in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading exciting romance novels.
I thought this book more intense emotionally, love that the Sinatra's have a sister now, to help connect the families. I don't like that it didn't give Mick and Amelia and Charles more time to have together with there families.
This was a good read it was so many twists and turns it had you second guessing everyone. I hope we get to see more of Amelia and I hope that Gloria gets it together. As usual this was another good read.
When are Mick's kids gonna reach pass the age of being babies? I'm not saying they should be adults, but by now they should at least be toddlers...... I'm just saying
These are always page turners that I can’t put down them I’m upset when it’s over. Still hate the prologues because they give waaaaay too much away so I tend to read that after I read the book. Hate that the “kids” still haven’t grown up but I’m waiting to see just what Gloria is going to get into. I was wanting to read about the gang getting together but even with just Charles it’s always going to be some action. Not sure what Amelia is going to bring to the table but I can’t wait for the next one.
Mallory as always never disappoint. Mick and ROz are darlings. What I like about Mallory novels is how she skilfully add new characters and the roles they play mesh so beautifully with the storyline
I would recommend this book to everyone. It is so well written
Another great Sinatra mob book. Well -defined characters, family ties, action, romance, revenge, and sex. Editing grammatical errors would only enhance the story-telling and add stars...Teddy and Joey is coming. NO...are coming. Cheak? NO...cheek. Still fun and exciting!
Ms Monroe has done it again an enjoyable story to read. I love the characters and especially the Sinatra brothers relationship and now a sister. I look forward to learning about Amelia and her new relationship with the family. Keep up the excellent work Ms. Monroe
As always another engrossing and entertaining instalment in this series. Full of twists turns and for me anyway entertaining laughs. Love the way that the other characters are introduced.
Keep them coming.. Can't get enough of the family. Love Teddy.. Wondering how Joey is gonna survive. Still don't quite trust him but he may end up being the strongest..
This is what I imagine that Bonnie and Clyde,or Foxy Brown and Black Caesar would be if the were Mick and Roz.When you pick up this next installment of this wonderful series you are going to totally blown away. This was not only a story about a couple you don't want to mess with on a good day,but about a man realizing how important the people who are have become and its okay to show it.I love that the writer is smoothing some of Mick's edges but not enough to make him dull. This was a man loving his woman and making it happen for her (that is what a man does, but that is how a true boss handles his business)! This book is going to leave you so pumped you are going to just about combust when you realize that it has ended. Also we got a surprise on our hands and I look forward to seeing more especially in positive way.I think we are about to see a other version on Mick the Tick. This was just good from start to finish.
That was so good. Ms. Monroe you did it again, the twists and turns of this story, I loved it. I hope that Amelia does not turn out to be a traitor and that she actually forms a bond with them. I hope in the future I can read about Trevor and Carly perhaps their own book, again superb job https://goo.gl/images/tbBgDMas usual.
I cannot begin to describe how good this book is. The twists and turns of this story is remarkable. Bravo Ms. Monroe. I hope Amelia can form a bond with and she does not turn out to be a traitor just like Sal's son. I hope in the future I can read about Trevor and Carly. Their own book perhaps? Thanks again for a superb story.
Gotta love Mick. I'm so pleased to see Mick and Roz strong as ever. Mick adores his woman - I can't get enough of that. I absolutely love the way Ms Monroe gives us a complete story without a cliffhanger - yet sets the stage for more action down the road with new characters and unclear motivations of existing characters. Mick and Roz are still my second favorite couple in the series - a close second to Tommy and Grace - that's right - I said Grace. I'm more than a little disappointed to know Reno and Trina get the next book. I need more Tommy and Grace in my life. But - at the rate our prolific Ms Monroe works, there's always another great book on the way.
Once again Ms. Monroe you have done it again with the Sinatra Family, everyone trying to get ahead in the family, and getting into trouble along the way, with Daddy Sinatra knowing just what they are all up to from the oldest to the youngest. It was nice that they finally found out what happened to their long-lost sister. Thank you for another page turner that was filled with love, laughter and mayhem, I'm so looking forward to your next book filled with all things Sinatra and Gabrini!
Another great book. The characters get more fleshed out in each book. In this one, Mick and Ros have betrayal all around. A new player come as into this book and I bet we will soon have a new Sinatra series to look forward too. Keep um coming!
Mallory is an excellent suspense / mystery writer. I always enjoy reading the next installment of a the Sinatra and Gabrini men. I could not stop reading it until I was done, it was a great story.
Poor Mick and Roz, someone is always gunning for them. Will they ever learn?
Another enjoyable book, Ms Monroe I wonder where you get material for your books, they are fascinating and keep me entertain from the beginning to the end I want to know more about Amelia. I hope Mick Sinatra kids get their stuff together soon.I also hope they can get some trustworthy men to protect them.
This book was page turning good. It kept my attention all the way through. It also left me wondering about Gloria and what's next with her. Mick's children need to realize he's not to be played with.
