Miguel has a natural air of maturity. His body is a sexy canvas for his latest tattoo, covered with long sleeves and a suit coat by day as he runs an esteemed line of cruise ships out of Port Canaveral. He won't hesitate to bash a metal bar into the side of a person's head if they cross him or anyone he cares about. He also has a dark past that he would rather forget. Miguel does not intend to fall for any woman. Love is a weakness he does not need.
Then he meets Kiara - his employee. She is an intelligent, petite woman with long brown hair. She is dedicated to furthering her education all while working two jobs and sending money back home.
Kiara has also been betrayed by the man she was going to marry, hurt in the worst way possible. She tries to cut ties with Julian, but it's more difficult than she imagines when he is the son of her father's best friend. Julian follows her from her home town of Miami to Orlando where she attends school. He tries to attack her but she manages to escape. She escapes right into the travel agency where she works and passes out, only to wake up in one of the guest bedrooms in Miguel's home.

Read this book on Wattpad two years ago and it was taken down because it was getting published and I can finally read it again. The book is great just as I remembered as her last two books were.
I did read this book in order and this one is slightly apart from the other 2. Therefore, it is not essential that you read the other 2 first as there are minimal crossovers for the characters.
Kiara is a college student who works really hard, struggling to make grades and earn money to upkeep her simple life. As the story develops, you find out the issues that Kiara is facing and in some sense, Miguel sweeps in and saves her, or tries to save her from her demons.
Their romance is a little bit of a slow burn which is great. Even with the attraction, the two are slow to make big moves to each other for their own personal reasons.
I love how strong Kiara is. Although there are points when I wish she didn’t push Miguel away even know I understood completely why she did.
Okay Ali Lee you sure know how to keep a reader wanting. The only problem I had with this book is the ending. I keep saying she can't possibly end the novel this way. Maybe it just isn't over and I have wishful thinking. All I have to say is please put me out of my misery and add some more chapters please. I am so loving the story of Miguel's life.
