Author of the book, "How We Did It : 100 entrepreneurs share the story of their struggles and life experiences". Buy it on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/How-Did-entrepr...
The author has managed to make India's own version of the "Intelligent Investor" by Graham. Very valid
Bundle of common sense in investing in stock market with case studies from India. This is not a step by step guide on how to "trade" in stock market, rather a discussion on fundamentals of investing.
+ Discussion on how to read the Annual reports was most useful + Interpreting the metrics with examples from the Indian Market made the reading very clear + Author's macro thinking process w.r.t. govt policies and effect of inflation were worthwhile
-No negatives to point out content wise, but many reg language, printing errors and information formatting
I have been following Anand Srinivasan for a long time. the book has been written around 2012 where nifty was trading around 5500 to 5600. His knowledge in understanding the business is phenomenal and a must read book for an Indian investor in his life time.
There are formatting issues and repeated information disclosed in various parts of the book but it won't let you disengaged.
Author has discussed about some interesting stuff specific to indian market and indian govt. Don't think after reading this book, you're all set for investing. This is one of the book which can give some insights.
Not recommended for beginner investor, intermediates can pick one. YMMV.
Pretty decent read for an intermediate investor especially it skims through PL, cashflow statement, balance sheet etc. Compilation of fisher, carrett and classic investment advice. Primarily meant for Indian market. Overall good read.
Very good book. Very enlightening.. Learnt a lot about equities and feel a step closer to being an successful investor. Thank you anand sir for taking the time to write this book. P. S: If you rewrite the book in the context of current stock prices it would be a great help. Thanks.
The author clearly explains the way of picking up stocks and the criteria necessary which a investor should look into when investing in a particular company
This book gave me an introduction to many aspects of the Indian economy relating to choosing of stocks. Good read for a budding indian investor. One recommendation to the author would be to quality check the content for spelling errors before publishing.
My Five pointers: 1. Very relevant book for Indian stock market and investors. 2. The author has given a vast historical learning that he has gained in Indian stocks through stories that many stocks went through. 3. At some point in time I got to understand that highly priced stocks can also be bought as they command a premium for the brand value and their offerings. 4. There are many typos and errors which could have been avoided as a part of proof reading. 5. The author is also critical of the PSU companies and provides insights about the veteran's ideologies whom he follow.
