Born in Northern California in January 1969, Blayne Cooper is the best-selling author of a variety of fiction ranging from mystery/romance to outrageous parody. With each novel she tackles a new personal writing challenge. The result is a diverse collection of lesbian fiction.
Blayne has held a number of interesting, and sometimes rather unusual jobs (sunflower sexer), and completed a stint as a Combat Medic in the Army National Guard. Today, she is a project manager for a legal publishing company by day, and writer by night.
In 1990 Blayne graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in political science. The next year she married and in 1995 she graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and was admitted into the Oklahoma Bar Association.
That same summer, her spirited daughter was born. A gregarious son completed the family in 1997. She easily ranks her children as her greatest accomplishment.
Blayne has always harbored an interest in fiction, but it wasn’t until 1998 that she tried her own hand at writing by reaching out to an online audience. A couple of years later, her work was published. While she enjoys the challenge of working in multiple genres, it's writing about the humor found in everyday life that gives her the most pleasure.
Blayne loves travel, reading, and spending long, sleepless nights crouched over her computer in search of the perfect words that will make people laugh or weep uncontrollably. She's still looking, but having a great time on the journey.
A rolling stone at heart, Blayne currently resides in the Midwest with her loving spouse, two children, and Wheaton Terrier. (from the author's website)

3.75 Stars. This was a pretty good YA romance, with some mystery and a little paranormal flare. This is only my third book by Cooper, but it was her best for me so far. The book felt well written. It felt like a real YA that had some well written, honest convos between kids and parents. The last few YA’s I have read felt more like New Adult stories, so I liked that this felt like a more realistic YA read.

I think the two main young ladies are 16 and 17 and just finished junior year of high school. There is a little bit of a paranormal flare that actually brings the two together, but this book is very paranormal light. I have to admit that was a little bit of a disappointment. I thought the paranormal aspects were a bit on the backburner. If you just changed a few things this could have been a normal YA romance. If you are not a paranormal fan, I don’t think anything here would really bother you.

There is an interesting mystery that weaves its way through the book. It added a little bit of excitement that the book needed. A few times I thought the story dragged a little, so the mystery helped. I also didn’t suspect who the “bad guy/girl” was so I always appreciate when an author can trip me up.

The romance is very sweet. It a PG rated YA romance, but I enjoyed it anyway. The two mains are likeable and from opposite sides of the tracks so to say. They made a sweet pairing.

I didn’t love this like I was hoping, but it was well written and still enjoyable. I think YA fans would like this read. The way this book ended left the possibility of a second book. If so I would not hesitate to read it.

Blayne Cooper is an amazing writer. Her books are so good! Her latest book, Blind Side of the Moon, I literally bought without even reading what the plot was about. I didn't need to, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this book would be amazing. I was absolutely right, it was!

Samantha Blackwell is a high school junior that has recurring dreams that she knows are important. She just doesn't know why or what she's supposed to do with what she has seen. As the dreams begin to get more frequent and more detailed she learns through her mind's eye that her dreams are about a classmate being stalked. She knows without a doubt she has to help, but she doesn't know who she can get anyone to believe her.

Jane Hutchens is from one of the most prominent families in town. She feels like an outsider in her perfect little family. Her siblings, the twins, are the most popular kids in school. Jane is lucky if anyone even looks her way. Super smart Jane spends most of her time in a book. So when Samantha drops a bomb on her about being stalked she balks at the outrageousness of the situation. that is until the notes and text messages become so frequent and intense that she just can't ignore the danger lurking.

So the premise of the book is a stalker on the loose and Samantha, who can at times foretell the future befriends Jane to help catch the madman before he hurts her. Oh, but it's so much more than that. This book has amazing characters who have depth and soul. While they are young these two are also mighty. Both, Jane and Sam are so well developed and you really get to know their emotions. These are strong young women that you cannot help but love and root for.

While Blind Side of the Moon is a mystery filled with twists it also has a romance that is every bit the mystery’s equal. The love story is so sweet, it pulls at your heart strings time and time again. While the two characters are young, they are both wise in so many ways. The ending is left open a bit, so I hope that we will see more of this dynamic duo. A Big 5 stars!

A very good story with many twists and turns, centered on a youthful romance and a mysterious stalker. Just when i thought I had it figured out and was disappointed with the author for being so obvious the story took me on a wild joyride full of surprises. No. I didn't see that coming, or that!

Wow! This is my favorite so far from the author.
One little advice, avoid spoilers. It will ruin the story big time.

Please tell me there's a sequel??! Please!!

I was quite intrigued with this book. I was hoping for a good mystery since a stalker is involved but I got lots of surprises.
You'll keep on guessing who's the bad guy here until the end. Just be patient.

Favorites from the book:
-Jane's conversation with her Dad really touched me. I was expecting something horrible from him but it really surprised me. Communication is really the no. 1 key factor for good relationships.
-Sully and Samantha's friendship.
-A lot of twist!

This book is funny with dry wit and really silly banters. One minute their serious and the next they'll throw something really funny.

Rich girl/poor girl, paranormal, mystery, YA
If you like any of that, you should check this book.

Interesting, with enough twists that it wasn't easily predictable. I also quite liked the writing style and the romance.
MCs were nice too, albeit sometimes angsty and overdramatic. Which is fair, considering they're teenagers.

I loved this book. It was a sweet romance/thriller that kept me guessing. It kept me awake half the night too.

Totalmente genial.

Weird weird.
Well-written, interesting characters, and some really good moments, especially the father-daughter talk that left me wowing ! Not always we have that depth of interaction.

Romance is nice, mystery is too, but I didn't like the end, and for the paranormal, I didn't see the point.

This book is very slow going and confusing but the author does have a great idea for a story line. Anyone who wants a deep mystery should read this book. Through out the entire story you wonder how in the world Jane and Sam's lives could get any worse, yet somehow it does! So if you don't mind a long, non-progressive read, you might want to read this book.

I really enjoyed this book! I've only read a few of Blayne Cooper's novels, and this is my new favorite! I hope people don't get turned off about reading a "young adult" novel as there is plenty for adults to also like about this book! There is mystery, humor, and yes, a touch of romance. I can picture the setting of the book perfectly, and the concept and twists within the book are very fresh and current. Please give it a try. As with the rest of Blayne Cooper's novels, it does not disappoint, and I'm excited to see what she will write next!
