Kathy Love has been labeled "a character-driven author, who prefers complex subjects that add an emotional, humorous edge" by Romantic Times. Originally from Maine, she now resides in Maryland with her daughter, Emily, their Boston Terrier, and six cats, all black. And five of which came with her boyfriend. So he's the crazy cat guy.
Biohazard by Kathy Love #8 'How to Fall In Love With A Serial Killer' Interested? You should be. The ending was a delightful surprise!
Undying Love by Kristine Mason #2 This was such a disturbing story and I really liked it! When you are 16 and infatuated with someone it feels like EVERYTHING. Which I could relate to. I could understand Morgan's curiosity about Tom. I could even understand when Morgan started to...nah, thats too far, even for me. Great story!
No Eulogy For A Stranger by Caleb Pirtle III #5 Too long and boring for me. :(
The Woman Of My Dreams by Joe Broadmeadow #4 I enjoyed this one a lot. It was pretty clear all along where this one was headed but it didn't stop me from enjoying its creepiness. I would very much like to read more from this author. A mother's love is a powerful thing...
The Hunter by Drew Jordan #1 I liked this but didn't love it. Its about a pretty normal couple except the hubby just happens to be a serial killer. I felt like I needed something else from this story. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what.
The House That Weeps by Elle J Rossi #9 I really enjoyed this story. Its about an old family home that happens to be haunted and a guy that "can see dead people". Another ending that I didn't see coming!
The Silent Widow by Kimberly McGrath #3 I freaking loved this until the very last chapter. Each chapter was a different characters POV. It felt like a Hercule Peroit movie where there are several players and everyone might be the killer but you don't find out for sure until the very end. I was completely invested, the story was exciting. I couldn't wait for it to come together. Then the final chapter comes and goes and I still don't know anything.
Chimes At Midnight by Paul Dale Anderson #6 Omg! I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Its about four burglars who break into a house that belongs to a couple that are in their 70's. When they are seen they attempt to murder the husband and wife. I did like it but because its something that could happen in real life made it the scariest story yet!
A Sultry Abyss by Sue Coletta #7 Definitely one of my favorite story out of the book! A crime writer wants to get some more information to help write another mystery novel so she follows the police... I liked the creepy factor and how it ended was perfect.
Best Story: Undying Love OR Biohazard Least Favorite: No Eulogy For A Stranger
Killers and serial killers make up all the stories in this Anthology. But these are not your garden variety killers. They are your co-workers, your mortician, and your husband.
If your looking for a break from romance and you like the sick and twisted give this anthology a try.
I’m drawn to stories about serial killers. I’ve been told by many it’s a morbid fascinate. LOL You’ll get nine short stories about them in this anthology, each author bringing their own dark spin to their tales.
I won’t play favorites and name any certain ones, but some of these hit hard and a couple were pretty good. One left me confused. I read it twice and felt like the end might have been left off or I just completely didn’t get it.
It was great to read some familiar authors and discover new ones. I found a few that I’ll be checking out now.
There’s lots of terrible monsters in these pages. They may look human, but there’s no humanity in the way they delight in their kills. You’ll also come across a bit of the paranormal or supernatural, which I find adds to the suspense and scares.
A great collection that’s sure to satisfy that dark craving inside you. I read them late at night and got even more thrills.
I received a complimentary copy. My review is honestly and voluntarily given.
This is a collection of some whacked and twisted short stories that for the most part, I found entertaining.
However the main reason I bought this book was to read The Hunter by Drew Jordan. If you've read the Crash trilogy then you are already familiar with the Stranger and Laney. They're seriously messed up characters that you can't help but love, no matter how much your conscious tells you it's wrong. The Hunter gives us a little peek into their lives since we left them at the end of Expose. Yeah, they're still not right!
Overall, good way to read other author's works that I've not read before.
These stories were so good! And freaky. I wouldn't recommend reading alone, lol. My favorite was Undying Love by Kristine Mason. She most definitely knows how to write freaky, dark, twisted stories! And at only 99 cents, it's a no brainer! Get this book and find your favorite story.
This book is a wonderful compilation of horror stories from several talented authors. Would make a great Halloween gift or book club read. I highly recommend it!
