An interesting look at a latter part of the leaning tower of Pisa. The story, though fictional, harken back to Virginia Woolfe's 'a room of one's own' looking at what someone can do when they have their brains freed from tasks that are assigned to them by society without looking at interest. A great female lead in the book with their father coming to view them as an equal.

It's a story about following your heart, saying 'no' to societal expectations, studying what you want and solving puzzles (why does the tower of Pisa lean?). Brilliant father-daughter relationship.

This was a really cool book, and taught me more about Italy and the tower or Piza. I loved the main character and really was a story about changing times.
