Two years after Dividing Line #9.

For the first time in his life, Ryan Law is afraid. His adored wife Rachel is giving him the cold-shoulder and he has no idea why, making him fear that his marriage may be over. On top of that the local police are aware of the fact that he and Rachel - along with their old friends Battler and Bruiser - are the local vigilantes responsible for punishing those who terrorise their neighbourhood and they are starting to feel the pressure.

Life in Manchester is as hectic as ever for the Laws and Maguires. Family tensions are rising and grudges being formed. However Jules, for the first time in her traumatic life, is blissfully happy with her husband Jackson and her daughter Cara. Yet a shadow looms on the horizon in the form of Jared Slattery - Cara's biological father and an enemy of the Laws and Maguires. He's decided it's time his little girl came home to daddy and he's going to leave carnage in his wake.

Contains strong language and scenes of sex, torture and violence.
This book is part of a series and not a stand-alone novel.

Author of over seventy books so far. Living on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with my husband, twin daughters and a cat called Mavis, although I am originally from Lancashire in the north of England.

My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.

When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.

Couldnt put this one down !

So love this series, I was a little sceptical reading this one after seeing some not so good reviews, but I was not disappointed in the slightest. Love all these characters, they feel so real to me, almost family ! Another on the edge story with a couple of twists, but I have a feeling that maybe number 11 will be the last one, just surmising, who knows ? Good work Heather.

Just keeps getting better!

This has got to be my favourite crime series. Book 10, and it just keeps getting better.

I originally read books 1-9 back to back and when I found Darkness had been released I couldn't wait to get stuck in. There is just something about the characters, they may be mad and bad but I can't help liking them.

Can't wait for book 11, as always there's a nail breaking cliff hanger at the end and so many strands of the story that need answering ggggrrr.

This book is Bad Ass! Loved it x

Another hit

Once again we have the gangsters at war and it's brutal. The Maguire, the Laws, the Slatteries and more take to the streets to defend and fight for what they own. This has happened in previous books but the way the author gets you engaging with them you can't help but route for them and are happy if they don't get killed. I for one really enjoyed it and I'm going to get the next one now.

Darkness

I love this series so much, I have read the 10 books one after the other & I enjoy everyone of them . Heather Atkinson writes all the characters so well & I love some & dislike the nasty ones , this was funny as Brody & Cass from the Glasgow series where in a couple of chapters & I was laughing at the patter 😂 love it
