A man with nothing to live for—and a man with everything to lose… Years ago, Aidan joined the army as an idealist with big dreams, determined to save the world. That was before he made a crucial mistake that cost the life of the man he loved. Now he’s living without purpose and drinking to forget... until he sees a stranger about to lose an unfair fight, and finally has a reason to put his life—and his heart—on the line again. Liam cares about two things in using his law degree to make the world a better place, and keeping his younger brother Jamie out of trouble. He doesn’t need anything—or anyone—else. But when he confronts Jamie’s abusive boyfriend and finds his career and his life in jeopardy, Liam is forced to admit there are some threats he can’t handle on his own. After Aidan saves Liam from the hired goons sent after him, Liam thinks he’ll never see his mysterious rescuer again. But Aidan sees a chance to make up for his past wrongs—and his one meeting with Liam has awakened a spark inside him that he thought was gone forever. When he offers to become the brothers’ live-in bodyguard, Liam swallows his pride and accepts... but he soon discovers that Aidan represents a new kind of danger, one that threatens to tear down the walls Liam has built around his heart. Save Me is a full-length steamy gay romance novel with no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a happy ending. This book contains references to physical and emotional abuse.
This book kinda grew on me. At first I was barely tolerating it - it wasn't annoying enough to piss me off and make me DNF it but at the same time I felt like I read this kind of story many times before. The ex-soldier with PTSD blaming himself for not saving his lover. The idealistic lawyer with an environmental case. The little brother with an abusive lover. It wasn't really bad. It wasn't really good. So I trudged through it waiting for it to break one way or the other. But somehow - and maybe it was closer to 50% of the story - it started pulling me in. There were little layers and little turns that made the book different, that elevated it from cliche. The main characters appeared to be more complicated than they seemed at first. And I liked it; oh I was plenty mad with them, especially with Liam - but at the same time I understood where their problems were coming from. Even Jamie whom I felt like calling "spoilt little shit" more than once - it also was clear what made him the way he was (including Liam's overprotectiveness). And the last quarter of the book - I felt really engaged. Was real angry when someone tried to distract me from it. Though I'm not sure how satisfactory I find the ending, even though it's a happy one. I liked Aidan very much. My heart was breaking for him, especially in the last part of the book, and I felt so sad witnessing how deep his problems were. But Liam... can I put it bluntly? I'm not sure he's good enough. Using Aidan's help, pushing him away, using his comfort, pushing him away again, asking for his help when no one else helped... always putting his brother first. I didn't feel, by the end of the book, that Liam did enough to deserve Aidan - actually, he didn't do anything at all. As I said, it was clear why Liam was as he was, and I appreciated it - but in my heart, he didn't measure up to Aidan. And, agh, the proposal... I'm afraid it straightout dropped the book one star for me. Too soon, wrong time, out of nowhere... didn't enjoy it. I take it the next book is probably going to be about Jamie and Tom... dunno if I'm going to read it.
Ugh another one that lost me half way through. ALERT: Keep in mind reviews are opinions, and opinions vary based on taste. I am not a fan of insta-anything. There is absolutely nothing on page that even remotely indicates that the two MC's are falling in love. Liam, a lawyer, and Aiden, a vet, meet in a bar. Liam is having a business meeting and Aiden is getting shit faced because it's the anniversary of the death of his ex-lover and team member who dies in action on a failed mission. A fight breaks out when some goons try to rough up Liam and Aiden saves him. Keep in mind now Liam is a lawyer and at no point in these shenanigans are police involved. The goons pay a visit to Aiden after the bar room brawl and order him to stay away from Liam which prompts him of course to go looking for Liam. Liam is in a strange situation with his brother and his brothers controlling boyfriend. Aiden offers to help him by basically moving in with him and protecting him and his brother, oh yeah and giving him fighting lessons. This whole scenario was so off the wall to me I mean Liam is a lawyer, what the fuck are you doing bro? The cat and mouse game sub plot in this one completely takes away from the budding romance because so much page time is taken up by fighting intruders and escape plans that you don't see them fall in love. I mean you don't even know its happening until they bang once and then Liam says I love you. There are also a lot of mental factors going on here. Aiden still feels like he's betraying his ex, guilt, etc. Liam had bad childhood events happen to him and has a wall around himself. There's a lot going on here and it's all just clunky, too much, too soon, and all over the place. Really @ 54% I was done and only finished the book because as some of you might know I haven't ever DNF'd a book up until this point. Bottom line is I couldn't enjoy the HEA or anything that happened after that point because I didn't believe this plot or this romance for one second. Look I've read far fetched books before and enjoyed the book, there was just a missing element for me here and I think it just boils down to connection. I didn't feel it here with these guys. Not for me.
Technically, the writing is decent, but the plot lacks any real oomph, and there was just a bit too much melodrama for me to take it seriously. All the self-blaming got really annoying.
Aiden is drowning. He drinks, not to forget but to punish.
Liam is losing his brother. And himself.
Together they will save each other.
Aiden saves Liam from a group of hired muscle and even he can't say why. He offers to help Liam get his brother back from a bad situation and when that bad situation follows them home he offers to bodyguard. Liam helps him heal from a pst he feels was his responsibility and Aiden helps Liam bring back a part of himself that has been buried for so long.
I loved the story but I felt that sometimes I couldn't connect with the writing. That's the main reason for the lack of more stars. Great read all and all.
This storyline had the potential to be a page turner thrilling read, but i found myself skipping pages to finish it. An entertaining read, but the mc's didn't grab me enough, couldn't really connect with them and I almost didn't finish...
Every once in a while I'll read a novel that isn't from my regular style, hoping that it'll wow me and make me want to keep reading that style. While I've read M/M novels in the past and was thrilled by them, which was why I wanted to try Aria Grayson's Save Me. I was intrigued when i read the blurb and as I started reading, I often wondered how this quad would make in their individual relationships. As much as the suspense was through the roof in the beginning, I wanted to know where this novel was going: was it trying to keep with the suspense and mystery or was it trying to make you believe in second chances and the importance of supporting your loved ones. As confusing as Save Me was at times, I was still intrigued enough to keep going on to find out the fate of these four individuals.
3 cuddle worthy dreams
This is the type of novel that you have to go in with an open mind, even without any expectations; it's the story about four men all linked in one way and who must find their own way in their own lives and in their relationships. Liam is a lawyer who cares about two things: his career and his little brother Jamie. Only, as Jamie's boyfriend Eric becomes more abusive, Liam puts his life and career in danger when he confronts Eric. Aidan, facing his own demons, comes to Liam's rescue when strangers want to harm him. Together, these two try to heal one another while trying to save and protect Jamie from his own boyfriend. While Save Me may not have been my favorite novel, I still enjoyed many part of it.
Once a year, Aidan goes out drinking and getting into fights and being kicked out of bars. This year he is at his third bar when he sees a gorgeous professionally dressed man being threatened by some goons. It is clear the stranger is in trouble so Aidan steps in and takes out the bad guys. Aidan used to be in the military and his unit were the best at rescue missions until they fell into a trap and everyone but Aidan was killed. Liam was the stranger in the bar. He is a lawyer and was meeting supposed witness for his case. The goons were there to discourage him from contacting his younger brother. His younger brother was in a relationship with a powerful and controlling man. Liam was worried about him since his brother showed signs of abuse the last time he saw him. Liam needs heed help to protect his brother. Aidan is happy to help. He really is attracted to Liam and he is lost without a purpose in life. Rescuing Liam's brother and protecting the two men is just what he needs to feel alive again. Problem is is his need to rescue and protect the only feelings he feels towards Liam or is it some love mixed in too. This is a great story about a protector who just found a new reason to wake up in the morning. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
I really liked this one. Aidan is a man struggling with witnessing the death of Eric, a man he not only served with but who he loved. This has led to Aidan changing his idealistic views in his own role and life and has him drinking his feelings away and causing chaos. Liam is a man struggling with an emotionally and physically abusive relationship and fighting to stand up to the bully in his life. Queue Aidan rescuing Liam while out drinking on night and the story begins.
I think for me, this worked nicely and rolled with the ups and downs but I felt let down by the rushed ending of what was a potentially great story. I sympathized with Aidan and Liam and cheered them on in their own private battles as well as their struggling development of their relationship. Aria Grayson has written a nice story, I only wish she had not rushed the ending as much. That being said, don't let this put you off. Save Me is worth a read and I look forward to reading more by Aria.
I don't know what exactly it was about this book but the whole thing just didn't work for me. The characters seemed very flat, their connection and emotional moments felt very forced and unrealistic.
For example, they were just sitting in the kitchen just doing whatever and suddenly Aiden was all 'I should tell him about my past, I shouldn't hide this anymore' and started spouting his whole army backstory, out of nowhere...like the second time they met!
The whole brother subplot was also very meh to me and just didn't connect for me. Honestly, I would've rather read a book about Jamie and Alistair's relationship, it probably would've been more interesting and substantial.
Maybe this book just wasn't right for me, you should never judge a book based on one review and I'd encourage you to at least give it a try but it just didn't work for me personally. I'd still be willing to give this author's other books a try!
Wow! Save Me is an emotional roller coaster. So many emotions are stirred up in these pages. Aiden and Liam both have their issues to overcome and they find just what they need in each other. And poor Jaimie. I spent a large portion of this book wanting to hug him while simultaneously wanting to shake him until his teeth rattled. His struggle touched on what so many victims of abuse go through while trying to find the strength to break away. The book is well written and the characters are so well developed. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't have trigger issues.
This is a whole lot of story in a little book. These two have a while lot going on now and in their past. I think this book was a great read but the ending fell just a little short for me only because I wanted a little more. I felt like their journey together wad truly just beginning. They had truly just found their place together and found their level ground and started their journey and I just wanted more but what I did get out of this story was addicting and fabulous!!
3.5 stars Aidan still fights with hs demons and with the guilt of loosing his lover. When lawyer Liam needs help Aidan doesn't hesitate to step in. But is he doing Liam a favour or is it just to ease Aidans own guilt?
I liked the book, but I could have kicked Liams brother Jamie. Such a little ungrateful brat. When he returned a second time to that ex-boyfriend of his I would have told him to never come back.

Loved this story. A good, sweet story. Aiden is intense and Liam is the opposite and they balance each other out so well. First story I've read like this and really enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Ioved both men. Jamie was useless. Storyline was good but too long to get to the point ( love for each other). Little crazy to think one would go that far for someone who didn’t want him (ruined a mans career)
Wow! This story was intense, but I couldn't put it down. I really felt emotionally involved in the characters. Highly recommended! * I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.*
Little slow at first, but then these boys drew me in. Both main characters have issues that they seem to not be able to get over until it’s nearly too late. Not too bad of a story. 🙂
Actual Rating 3.5 Stars I received an ARC which I voluntarily reviewed. This may have just not been the book for me, because I had a hard time staying entertained. It had a bit of a thriller vibe and I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Which in turn made me lose interest. The romance part was a little screwy too, and I don't think anything was ever really resolved. It was just an okay book.
Aidan is still grieving the loss of his lover and every year on the anniversary he goes to bars to get himself as drunk as he can. If he happens to get into fights and come back bloody and bruised so be it. But during his bar visit this year he has a run in with a cute guy in a suit., at first he tries to ignore him until he notices the guy being followed. When the guys try to force the man in the suit to follow them Aidan can't just sit back and let it happen.
Liam is a lawyer working for a small firm. His client wants to meet him in a dive bar so he agrees. When he's approached by three huge guys and made to follow, he protests. He doesn't expect a stranger to step in and help him. Liam is made aware who the guys are and what they want from Liam. Aidan ends up walking Liam home just to be sure he made it home okay. Aidan doesn't expect to see Liam again.
When one of the thugs from the bar show up at Aidan's place of employment, Aidan knows he has to take action and pays a visit to Liam's. Liam ends up letting the cat out of the bag about the trouble his brother, Jamie, is in.
This story was an extremely frustrating read for me. The depiction of Jaime's behavior was pretty text book behavior for someone in an abusive relationship. That being said it was annoying as all heck when he kept in contact with his ex but was lying to the people trying to help him. Frankly there was a part of me that didn't know if Jaime was going back to his ex because he was a gold digger, for the comfort of being in a relationship or just because he believed and was being brainwashed to believe he was being more independent and taking control of his life (yeah, yeah it was pointed out several times in the book he thought he was taking control of his life yada yada blah blah but he came off as more of a gold digger to me). There was a small part of me that hated him enough to wish ill on him for bringing down so much trouble for Liam and Aidan.
As for Liam and Aidan their back and forth behavior with commitment and whatnot wasn't working for me. Liam was extremely immature after his case went south and I have to admit I was feeling evil and also wanted Aidan to just leave him and never give him a chance again. That being said, I enjoyed the ending.
An ARC was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
The book had a lot of ambition but it also had many flaws that weighted it down, preventing it from the flying with its full potential. The writing was decent, but it felt lacking. The plot was promising, but it got muddled in the later half, especially in the climax when thing started to escalate too quickly.
I ended up finishing this book in one day, but I felt I needed more of a connection between Liam and Aiden. It was there, but needed some more power behind it for me, am not sure I just felt like something was missing ... and again this is my own opinion. I enjoyed the storyline, it was a little dark for those who need warnings. (I do enjoy dark reads.) Jaime was a little bit maddening to read about at times, but I don't know his full story. Maybe he will have his own book? All in all, it was packed with action, and two people trying to find themselves, and that is always a plus for me!
I like to take notes on the books that I read so that I have them available when I write my reviews and one of the earliest notes that I made for this book was gushing about how much I loved these characters!
All Aiden wanted was to be able to protect the people that he loved. When his boyfriend (Eric) died, Aiden's sense of his own value was devastated and he has spent years without finding his footing again. I loved that Aiden thinks to himself that he "knows he's not delusional" while he is seeing and talking to Eric.
Liam has spent years of his life caring for and providing for Jaime. He is so focused on Jaime that he doesn't ever stop to consider his own safety or happiness as long as his brother is safe. This inability to allow any other priority into his life resulted in Liam damaging his relationship with Aiden almost beyond repair.
I liked that Alastair was a bit ambiguous. I like to think that he actually did love Jaime (as far as he was able) but he was so morally bankrupt that he couldn't help but be unhealthy for Jaime. I found that I spent almost the entire book waffling on whether I thought that Alastair was a deserving villain, or a mis-understood target of Liam's anxiety.
In the end, I loved that both Aiden & Liam recognized that they each had issues that needed work - there was no panacea that would magically heal them, but they decided that their relationship was worth the effort.
I did really like this book. Some of the storyline held very personal parallels for me. I really liked Aidan. Alot. What kept me from giving it one more star is that I really disliked Liam. For many reasons. I didn't particularly like the way he treated Aidan. If he hadn't been such a jerk, this would have been a 4 star read for me.
Save Me was really moving and emotional. Aidan is a war veteran that suffers from PTSD and the desire to always rescue someone. Liam is an up-and-coming lawyer that has a hard time making himself vulnerable to others. Their love doesn't explode instantly. It's more of a slow simmer, but eventually the sauce starts to boil and splash everywhere. That's an awful euphemism, but my point is, it's subtle and gentle, yet intense.
Every time Aidan interacted with Eric, it broke me. His pain and regret was so raw and honest and the descriptions of his PTSD were so well-done and unique, I actually felt like I was inside of his head. His inability to, at times, segregate reality from his traumatic past is beautifully weaved together. Aidan is one of my most favorite characters, ever, and his flaws made him even more endearing. I love how much he loves, how loyal and persistent he can be when it's called for. Liam is wonderful, too, but Aidan is really a character that will stick with me for a long time.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Aiden is struggling with something from his past. He was in the Army Special-forces and lost his boyfriend Eric when they were on a mission. Liam is a lawyer who raised his brother when his parents died. Liam’s brother Jamie is in an abusive relationship. Liam is also working on his 1st major case. Aiden is in a bar getting drunk on the anniversary of his boyfriends death, Liam goes into the same bar to meet a witness. Liam is harassed by 3 men and Aiden goes to his rescue. With Liam’s case failing, Jamie’s abusive boyfriend causing trouble and Aiden wanting to save Liam can they survive everything for their HEA?
This is my first read from this author and did not disappointed at all. Characters have some issue of being lost and not sure where they are to be. Liam is trying to help his younger brother get away from his controlling and abusive boyfriend. When he is attack at bar he is rescue by Aidan. Aidan has guilt that he was the last one to survive in his unit. When he hears Liam needs help with his brother he helps him. Feeling is being scrabble with the adrenaline of the hunt. What Aidan feels for Liam he is not sure is totally true. Can these two be able to let go of the ghost and have a happy ending? Will Jamie be able to finally get away from the crazy man? Recommend this book
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I don't think these type of books are for me. The ones where there is someone in a relationship like Jamie and how he lets someone rule over him. Then when others try to help he is like a mindless idiot who calls the very person they are protecting him from. Again... I just don't think this book was for me. I was constantly getting annoyed, but in the other part of the story are poor Aidan and Liam. Now that was interesting to say the least. I do wish the mystery of Eric had stayed a mystery post the first chapter though lol.
