Indian Method in Acting

Rate this book
Indian writing on acting has been shaped by literatures and manuals that have defined and delineated acting protocols by classifying in great detail, gesture, posture, stance and mudra, and their affects. Prasanna directs a modernist lens on this repository and looks at the current grammars that go towards making up today's toolkit; and in so doing, he places ancient and modern vocabularies and practices adjacent to each other.

As a thespian I really liked this book on how it actually tells you the “Indian Method” in acting, however the only shortcoming I experienced from this book was how it doesn’t talk a lot about character analysis(or psychoanalysis), but all in all a great experience and learnt a lot from it. A must read for budding thespians!
