Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, a young science graduate named Rachel found that the real world wasn't a place she wanted to inhabit all the time. So she decided to escape into the magical realms that had occupied her mind since childhood.
Armed with a vivid imagination, Rachel spends her days conjuring up fantastical worlds filled with adventure, romance, and plot twists, where readers can escape the real world along with her.
Rachel lives in Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband, two little wildlings, and three fur-babies.
Calla & Chase- amazing characters with dark pasts. I truly enjoyed book 3 - 6. This was filled with well written characters, amazing development and a world that sees in black and white.
A FAERIE’S SECRET All I can say about this book is: AMAZING!!! This series is one of my favourites so I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next! The story flowed so well, it was such a great read. The characters and scenes throughout the book were portrayed amazingly well that it felt like I was a part of the story. There were plot twists and hilarious moments that always had me laughing non stop (with a little tears mixed in) and parts that literally had me at the edge of my seat. I knew that when Calla was first introduced in The Faerie Guardian, I would immediately like her. She had that fierce and smart persona about her that I loved and was extremely excited when I heard that Calla would get her own story. It was also great to see Vi and Ryn again (loved those two together!) and Chase… OMG, loved him too! There isn’t anything negative I can say about this book other than that I wish it never ended! It was an amazing read that I would definitely come back too and recommend because Rachel Morgan has absolutely become one of my favourite authors. Awesome read and definitely can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after that ending
A FAERIE’S REVENGE Rachel Morgan has done it again! Another awesome read to a great series. She is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. I had so many questions going into the book and I couldn’t wait to finally get those answers. Each twist and turn in the book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I can definitely say this book will be on my read again shelf along with the others. There were so many things that happened and I loved every one of them especially when Chase and Calla were working together. I loved their connection, the humour and interactions between them, there was never a dull moment. I absolutely can’t wait to see where the story will continue in her next book
A FAERIE’S CURSE Simply amazing. Rachel has created a world, and adventures to go with it for each character, that just seems so real. I loved going on Calla and Chase’s journey with them (and knowing who Chase is, I just loved it that much more). I loved them two together and how strongly they felt for each other, especially Calla after everything she knew about Chase. This read was action upon action, with a rollercoaster of emotions and a little humour thrown in. There were so many times my heart broke for some of these characters but I’m glad they mostly all had their happy ending. It is a little sad to see the end of Calla and Chase’s story but I’m hoping we get to read more about them in coming Creepy Hollow books
This series has been everything I hoped for and more
Wow. Wow wow wow. I bought the three book bundle Kindle edition of Calla's story and it was just as good as the first trilogy. I'll review it as if it's one book, since I read this trilogy in two days. I love Creepy Hollow and the world Rachel created - from clothes casting and faerie tree homes, the pathways and the guardian weapons, to gargoyle riding and shape-shifting pets (how amazing is Filigree?!). I like that other characters from the first trilogy also featured in this book, but really like the new members to the cast. This trilogy focused on mistakes made, facing consequences, feeling guilt, receiving forgiveness, and the possibility of redemption. I cried real tears in this book, it was really hard at certain times. I felt anger (at the Guild and all their shenanigans), I felt grief, I felt the tingles from the sweet romance, I felt relief, I felt ALL the emotions, it was beautifully written. And Angelica was a proper villain that one could strongly dislike. The escapades were great - a daring rescue, an epic battle. I also have a theory about little Victoria, that I can't wait to see if I'm correct. So... I'm getting the next trilogy (Emerson's story) without further ado, so I can immerse myself right back into this amazing world.
Once again, this trilogy knocks it out of the park. In Vi's story, you meet Calla as a small child. In this set, you get to see her as a teenager. And in typical teenager fashion, she's going against her parents wishes in some way. I love how in Calla's story, you get to see how she's grown. I love seeing old characters from Vi's story. Calla grows in this series also. In strength and personality. When you first meet her, she's still, in some ways, the child you met in Violet's story. Though she always looks up to Ryn, she also finds herself in this series. And you get to tour different parts of Creepy Hollow, including the Seelie Court, you may not have seen in Violet's story. You can read these even if you haven't read Violet's story, but it would be lacking a little in detail if you haven't. Not a lot. This series seems to be written as almost standalone. But if you do read this set before reading Violet's story, you miss out on some pretty amazing and seriously disturbing things. I highly recommend reading all of them.
found this as an audio book - a mix of Fairy & Valley girl with world changing odds, & lots of teen angst. Calla meets & falls in love with a former Destroyer of Worlds, joins the organization bent outing her secret abilities, uses said abilities when she joins the vigilantes.
