This month's review is Priceless by Sarah J. Pepper! Sarah is an independent author who writes many paranormal novels and awesome twists of fairy tales but don't let that fool you these are NOT your children's fairy tales. Priceless is a twist on Rumplestiltskin. Declan Rumplestiltskin is a MMA fighter that is also a demon who tricks Emilie Miller to give up her first born child to him just for the man she thinks she loves and she agrees. When Emilie's daughter, Piper comes to Vegas at age 20 and Declan finds her you begin to think that her soul is lost to him but is this demon a romantic at heart? Will his love for Piper make him question taking her soul or letting her have the freedom that she really deserves?
If you are looking an awesome, adult version, twist of an old fairy tale Priceless is the book for you! It is a shorter read which as a mother of two little girls who always wants attention or decides to take super short naps a short novel is what I need! Sarah does a great job introducing her characters, keeping the list of characters that show in the book small. You aren't having to go back to the beginning like some novels figuring out who's who....I have mommy brain and no time for that haha. She has the ability to drag you into the novel and you can feel yourself become the characters and feel for them when they get angry or jealous. In such a short time I went through so many emotions and found myself really wanting Declan and Piper to fall for eachother and find a way to be together. I have read many of Sarah's novels and this one did not disappoint! Run don't walk to your computer and order this book on amazon, barnes and noble or itunes!

Priceless (Once Wicked Series Book 1) by Sarah J. Pepper is the author who takes fairytales and gives them that extra oomph that they need. I am enamored with Ms. Pepper’s writing style. She has a way of breathing new life into old fairytales.
The chemistry between Declan and Piper was amazing. They sizzle together, and that is what I love about this story. Ms. Pepper has made a believer in me and I want to read her take on the fairy tales. She has a way of giving her characters a special twist.
The action was on point. Well-written, and the dialogue was amazing. I give it 5/5 Platypires. I will definitely recommend this book to others.

If you enjoy reading updated, modern, twists on fairy tales, than you should check out author, Sarah J. Pepper. She has a whole line of books. In this book, the classic tale of Rumplestiltskin is re-imaged with a bit of a dark spin. Declan is Rumplestiltskin. Only, he is not just a trickster but who also happens to be a Incubus. This twist was a good one. Although, I wished that this story was darker. It was like a semi-sweet dark chocolate and I wanted dark, dark chocolate. Just when I thought, it would go there, the story would stop short.
The chemistry between Piper and Declan felt more like a father/daughter or older brother/sister relationship than lovers. Yet, I liked Piper. She had spunk. The way that she was not afraid of Declan and stood her ground around him was nice. For a short story, I did not feel like I missed anything. I am interested in seeing what other villains appear in this series.

I loved this twisted story! I find myself very fascinated with Declan. I enjoyed the main character's relationship and the way they went back and forth at each other.

Declan aka Rumplestiltskin made a deal 20 years ago, for the soul of Emilie’s first born. He has been keeping an eye on Piper all these years and it has finally come time for the debt to be paid. Declan never expected for Piper to touch his black heart the way she has. Can he go through with his plan to take her soul and gain his freedom? Or will she topple everything he has been working towards?
Sarah Pepper does it again in this retelling of Rumplestiltskin and the Pied Piper. Pepper has such an amazing way of taking the fairy tales we all know and love and turning them into something more. I love how she translates them into modern day love stories. I look forward to reading the rest of their story in Soulless.

Absolutely Priceless! Everything has a price. Some want money, power, or….freedom. In this retelling of Rumpelstiltskin and the Pied Piper we see how they finally meet and how their attraction all started. Declan Stilts wants his freedom and makes a deal with Piper’s mother for the soul of her first born child. The thing he doesn’t anticipate is to be absolutely captivated by Piper. In this novella we see how their push pull attraction starts. Does everything still have a price? This is an incredible story that pulls you in right from the beginning and will make you want to continue this in Soulless. You will not be able to put it down. Go get your copy now!

What a brilliant piece of work this book was! I am a huge fan of Pepper's dark retellings, of traditional fairytales. They don't just take the story you know and add a bit of darkness. No, Pepper entirely reweaves the original tale and makes it into something that is beautiful in a very different way.
Like always, there were the perfect little head nods toward the original, to ensure you still had your fair tale. I love those ' oh I know that part' moments, as it is great to not only connect to the story, but also to connect to the story she is paying homage to.
The characters are excellent. They have their own personalities and Pepper has gone above and beyond to ensure they have profound amount of depth and detail. I felt as though I could see and feel everything she told.
I also liked the additions and changes made to recast this story, as this section of it was originally a shorter read, in an anthology of fairytale retellings. The extra part of their story really makes reading, or rereading in my case, book two even more exciting. I think the author did a wonderful job making sure we had a full and exciting base to start from.
The pace of the book is excellent! I loved how we could go from bouncing between Stilts' moments as a a full blown demon, spiralling swiftly out of control, to slower moments where composure was regained and all was ticking along. It was also great that each of these paces still contained enough detail to feel as though you were there, stealing life forces as well.
Overall, with each book I read, from Pepper, I become more addicted to her writing. I am so glad I happened across her a few years back, as her work is absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't miss one of her books for anything and I highly recommend having a go!

I love how Sarah takes a modern Fairy Tale and adds a new twist to it making you see it on in a new light. You go in knowing the Rumple is a bad guy but then you realize there may be more to the story. There is more to the story that has you on pins and needles craving more. His secret connection to Piper may just be his downfall but then again it may give him the upperhand. Piper is a strong willed woman but can she resist Rumple or will she realize her fate is no longer her choice? This is not your average romance but it will make you want to get lost in the worlds that Sarah creates. Sarah's writing it impeccable and I can't wait to read her next book.

As a child I held fairy tales close to my heart. I listened to them with an attentiveness that was slightly creepy. I found comfort in the struggles and triumphs of the characters as they found their true loves. However something always stuck with me, a sour feeling that love wasn't that easy. It wasn't something that would be found after climbing over a wall or up a braid of hair. It is something that can be as painful as it is wonderful. Priceless is an amazing re-imagining of one of the fairy tales that always left me wondering. As a child I always felt that things were a little to easy for fairy tale folk. That they were a bit to naive, after all nothing is easy or free that is worth having. In this story Rumpelstiltskin is taken on in modern times. It's perfect really. He always was a being dealing in peoples deepest desires, and really all he wanted was a soul. This version gives just the right amount of tension and passion to the tale and ultimately leaves the character redeemed in a way that made my heart sing. I have always had a soft spot for the "bad guy" and love to see then they are redeemed. Good job Sarah J. Pepper. Yet again you have me wanting more!

Priceless is another incredible modern fantasy romance tale written by Sarah J Pepper and it does not disappoint. This intriguing short story involves the reimagining of Rumpelstiltskin. It was originally included in the special fairy tales collection book and has been updated and it is even better. I absolutely loved the character Piper, she had spunk and made me laugh quite a few times throughout the story. It was very entertaining to read and I highly recommend it.

The storyline sucks you right in! Years ago, Emilie made a deal with the devil ( Rumplestiltskin ) for her first unborn daughter. Years later, Emilie's daughter Piper meets Declan (Rumplestiltskin) face to face. Declan and Piper have undeniable chemistry, you can't help but to love the bad guy. When the time comes for Declan to claim Piper's soul and be free at last, will he have it in him? Or will Piper have left such a mark on him that he unable to follow through?
Sarah J. Pepper is the absolute BEST at retelling fairytales. She puts her own amazing unique twist on them and always leaves me wanting more! I highly recommend that you take a chance and give this book a shot.

Sarah does it again with this amazing short! I couldnt put it down! it was haunting and powerful and all in the true sarah j pepper brilliance. I have never come across a story of hers that didnt fascinate me from the first page and this was no exception.
I am truly captivated by Sarah's take on fairytales, they are always interesting and always leave you wanting more. When people say there minds are a dark and scary place its usually just to be funny but I totally believe it of Sarah. I love to see when it all comes out on paper though as its shear brilliance and I am glad to have had a chance to be here to read it.

This short little taste of this series is awesome as i read book once wicked book two a while ago so this helps you fill in all the back info for that story. It a fun fast quick little steamy snippet that you will eat up and be like ok what what where the rest. Check out Soulless (2) and read the rest of this delicious tell.
