This revised edition of the popular book about the Mennonites and Amish in Lancaster County explains the beliefs and practices of both groups and answers many questions that visitors to Amish country often ask. New cover design and many new photos.
This is an extremely short work, which means it lacks a lot of detail about any of the various topics featured. Despite that, it's a very interesting read and contradicts most of what I've always thought I knew about the Amish and Mennonites. Very informative and though it left me wanting more, for a work of this type that is really the ultimate goal, to answer basic questions and leave the reader interested in learning more about the subject. Note: My edition was copyright 1993.
