Sometimes being a psychic vampire can, well, suck. And since Georgia was turned by her sexy hybrid boyfriend Zak, she’s been wallowing in regret. But when her long absent Aunt turns up on her doorstep, convinced that Georgia is a witch, she has to pull herself together.
In the meantime, the Witch Hunter has woken and he wants nothing more than to obliterate every last witch from the planet. Starting with Georgia and her Aunt. His plan of attack? Take control of Zak’s body.
Zak not being himself has put a serious crimp in her sex life, but there are other things to consider, like how to create the mother of all spells that will immobilize the Hunter – and save a coven of witches. To find the answers she seeks and recover what she’s lost will take all of Georgia’s courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins, but she’s up to the challenge.
First Witch is the second book in Jane Hinchey’s paranormal romantic suspense series, Awakening. If you like sexy vampires, sultry witches, and kickass action, you’re going to love First Witch.
Book: First Witch Read By: Ebook Author: Jane Hinchey Genre: Fantasy Romance Recommend: Yes Spice:🌶️️🌶️️ < b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
Ok, so I didn't mind this series at all.
Georgia was a badass, but I did find it annoying how she had to tell everyone she could do it herself all the time. Now Zack isn't my favourite, he isn't some strong and amazing Mc like I want him to be. It's like he is a side character to the whole book. Massive pushover to. I like the wolf shifter better lol

I enjoyed the first book, but now I can't stop shaking my head! Yes, there are no typos and yes, the storyline could be worse, but I doubt I read the same book as most of you... (Spoiler: let's start with a quote: "Enjoying the time with the one responsible for killing my parents? What is wrong with me?!" I have no idea, why they leave the town without checking in with zack. The hunter so many like, killed her parents, grandparents and not to forget, a pregnant woman and her husband hours before she makes out with him! In a cruel and horrible way! Yeahh, I also get the attempts by the author to make him likable (when he is not strangling her for saying something he didn't like), the poor guy was bespelled... Did the spell make him an asshole? Grinning while seeing her in pain, laughing at her hate for him, playing with her fears and loved ones? Smirking, constantly smirking - I hate him! I liked Georgia in the first book, but to CONSTRUCT this story, the author had to make her too horny, to rub two brain cells together ("zack or no, if he touches me I am lost..."??????!!!!), spineless (just following what anybody else says, in parts performing rituals she knows NOTHING ABOUT) and without memory capacity (she doesn't know if zack is suffering in a thousand hells, but enjoys her dinner and time with the narcissistic killer!... The story could have developed with her standing up to the hunter once, without looking stupid afterwards, showing some self control, without him smirking after always succeeding in kissing her brainless, without selling out her whole self respect and character!!! Even her love for zack is obviously just skin deep - his looks! In beeing gullible and easy to manipulate she teaches the hunter anything?? Really? Fake, fake, fake and desperate! Don't try to sell anymore than the brainless jumping around that it is. And the end is in the same style: everything zack and georgie did was helping their own end, beeing stupid and tricked just to be saved by a unknown miracle! Well, if the author didn't take the easy way out throughout the whole book!). Spending time in georgies head was most of the time annoying and sometimes painful. Beeing horny and concentrated on someone's looks if he is threatening your loved ones, having fun and getting drunk while your life is in limbo and you need all the control you can get, not asking the witches what the hell they are up to - the story is all over the place but never were it should be. Zacks and georgies love story is gone for me, after this book. Skin deep, horny and shallow, like the rest of the book. When I am desperate enough I will probably read the 3 book, but not now. If an author is just bad, I shake my head and leave it. But the story as well as the author have so much potential, that I am too mad to look at anything of hers right now.

The intensity picks up in First Witch with Georgia, now a vampire, learning that she's also a witch. There's a hunter looking for Georgia and the tale gets quite creepy when he comes on the scene. The story is fast-paced and packed with suspense, action, betrayal, and some great twists and turns (the one at the end is a whopper). We do learn more about the ring and the blade and the connection between them, but the reason for their creation is still a mystery.
Book 2 in a Series, but it can be read as standalone. Gorgia, this is a character I absoluely adore, strong, Has Her own way, she can take Care of herself. Zak, Good character of overprotective Man. Book is intriguing nad with each chapter I Has mo4e questions that were going to be answered untill The end of The book.
A wave of energy passed through time and space and awoke the Hunter. He knew what he had to do.
Georgia was working on Zak’s dining table when she felt something too. She froze and stood there terrified but not sure what this internal darkness was.
When she is made aware of her witch heritage and discovers her witchy powers, she will need to work with her aunt and the coven in defeating the evil that is coming after them. Can they do it? Or will they all be destroyed?
This author has a great writing style that makes reading her books enjoyable. The characters are developed well. I was amazed at the detailed description of the Hunter – it was as if you were right there watching him unfold before your eyes! The action and suspense was wonderful! I highly recommend reading this one. It definitely holds the reader’s interest!
The beginning of this book I found was kinda slower our female protagonist and her sister are now both vampires and their long lost aunt comes into town (she never showed up when her parents died yet comes now) because apparently she’s a witch and there’s a witch Hunter out there hunting them and oh by the way he’s the one that killed their parents.
Turns out he’s like a 800 year old witch who hunts witches for a year then goes to sleep for 10…. For the past 800 years. I wasn’t a fan of how easily he was able to take over her 1/2 Angel 1/2 vampire boyfriend you would assume the angel part of him would of made him stronger but I guess not.
I wasn’t a fan of the leader of the wolf shifters who tried to help her ended up dead and with his wife and their unborn baby, with all her magic & vampire blood it would of been nice if someone could of survived that, but I guess I’m a bleeding heart.
The aunt has her join her coven of witches and never really explained what the plan was, then when she was to help them with a spell she realized to late they were draining her and we’re going to kill her. The hunter stab her with the first blade which killed all the witches and her… kinda.
She I think dream walked into the hunters home found her soul and all the other witches souls in jars and breaks them all open. Then she kills the hunter with the first knife but he wanted to die as he was cursed to do what he did and he tells her she’s the first witch of a new generation and she’s pregnant.
Okay… overall the story was okay we had some spice, action & adventure. But I can’t help wondering why is she so special but not her sister? Her sister can’t do any magic even though they had the same parents? Oh well

Who is this vampire that has awoken on October 1, 2016? Where is he at? What happened to him? When did he go to sleep? Why? Who is this Witch that he wants to take care of? What happened? Who is it? Who is Georgia? Who are Zak and Rhys? What is Zak teaching Georgia's little sister? Who is or was Victoria? Who was she involved with? What things does Zak start to realize about Georgia and what observations does he state to her, plans for 'tomorrow'? This book was not quite what I expected, but it was even better. I am already looking forward to book three in this series. There were a lot of really dark undertones and suspense in this book. Especially when it came to the Hunter and what caused him to wake up early, when he had only gone back to sleep six years before. When Aunt Melissa, Georgia and Skye's mother's sister shows up, what happens? You're going to have to read and find out. This book was NOTHING like I expected. Cannot say that enough. Is the Hunter a vampire? Read and see!

First Blade (#1) - Well-written, interesting characters, story draws you in, the fight scenes believable and exciting. Only complaint - sometimes the vulgar language wasn't necessary; yes, the main character has a few issues, but you're in her corner. I read this book, and First Witch, in one sitting. Get First Witch, it surpasses First Blade.
First Witch (#2) is better than First Blade, which is a good, standalone book, too. A standalone continuation from FB, just as well-written, full of interesting, believable characters - even the known and unknown enemies. Packed with fast-paced excitement and a couple of twists. I couldn't put the book down. Again, only complaint, sometimes the vulgar language wasn't necessary. It has a lot more sex than FB did.
First Blood (#3) - A fabulous ending to a fabulous series! Another well-written, intriguing novel with interesting, developed characters and a well thought out, fast paced plot with twists. Full of action and humor keeps the reader glued to the pages. Jelly Bean is a wonderful, complex character, and that was before JB was born. Compared to First Blade and First Witch, the sex and vulgar language was practically nonexistent.
The character Georgia has gone down hill since she started sleeping with Zak to the point that I no longer like her. Her over the top barely controllable desire to jump Zak's body is too repetitive and cringe worthy in this book and I really disliked listening to it to. Also the number of sex scenes in this series so far could do with being reduced in my opinion. (Quality over quantity.)
Georgia's worry and regret over becoming a vampire fell flat and left me not caring about it at all. Once the Aunt arrives talk of witches and magic begins and I was hoping for better magic than what I got prior to the climax of the book. I also wasn't happy about the Vampire Diaries being ripped off. Some questionable decisions are made and Rhys is once again not really relevant to the story. Some new characters are added, not just the Aunt and Witch Hunter though I wish the Witch Hunter had been better written for most of the book. The ending was not my cup of tea at all and i'm not looking forward to hearing all about it in the next book.
In the end this book just wasn't that good despite having what should have been an interesting plot.
3.5 stars. First Witch is the second book in the Awakening series. This could be a standalone but does end in a cliffhanger. There is violence and hot and steamy sex so definitely 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a good job of summarizing the storyline from the first book for new readers. Georgia and Zak continue their relationship and grow closer but things are changing within her. When her Aunt comes to town, she learns more about her witch side and skills. The storyline keeps you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. There definitely are some surprises along the way.
It definitely kept me riveted all the way to the end. I really enjoyed First Witch and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Loved this! Our favorites from FIRST BLADE return with a new big bad. The girls have a surprise reunion with their maternal aunt who brings not so good tidings. Not only do they learn they're hereditary witches, but the worlds scariest witch hunter is out to wipe them out! Their new vampiric strength won't be all it's cut out to be. Quickly learning to count on their wits and eternal strength, they also learn everything isn't quite what it seems. Mysteries, new powers and secrets abound. ...I highly suggest this if you're a fan of supernatural, and especially strong women characters. You will instantly be hooked on this amazing series! !
(2.3 Stars) "First Witch" was a disappointing follow up to the first book in the Awakening Series. What made this read so troublesome was that the plot was not well thought out and was illogical. Quite honestly, it was all over the place and not in a good way!
This time Georgia and her sister Skye are newly turned vampires and trying to figure out what they are going to do with their lives. Then, their long lost Aunt Melissa shows up informing them that they are both witches and a witch hunter has been awakened early from his ten year sleep in a search to destroy them. As Melissa attempts to train them to get ready for the upcoming battle, Georgia's magical skills are impressive while Skye does not seem to have any.
Although Melissa has left deflecting spells in the area to confuse the hunter, he is getting close. Georgia discovers that Zak has been captured and placed in a type of stasis. What does she do? No. She doesn't go after him, she hops a four seater plane and heads off to Azure Falls with her Aunt and minus her sister. None of this makes sense to me. Then, after a plane crash, Zak shows up but really is not Zak. He is the hunter in disguise. Here is where the plot got so convoluted that I wanted to scream. What happened to this promising series? Ugh, just Ugh!
At this point, I will be honest, I am not sure if I will be going on to book three even with the events at the end of this book. I was so disappointed in this installments that I'm still reeling from it. Oh well, win some and lose some!
FYI NOTES: This book series has a pretty good story line. The stories read like a young adult novels..and honestly would be perfect for young adults if the Sex Scenes weren't so inappropriate...way too vivid. VIVID -1. producing powerful feelings or strong, clear images in the mind.
Stunning second book of the series. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. Now my bum is numb. Loved how the characters and storyline moved in this one. I particularly liked how the harder edges of Georgia were smoothed away rather than becoming harder, and she really grew up during this one. Can't wait to see where she goes next. Thank you.
I took a chance on book two after having mixed feelings about the first book and I am so happy I did. It’s a wonderful story of love and betrayals. I think the characters have grown while still keeping their distinct personalities intact. The story flowed well and it was great fun to read from beginning to end. Be prepared for a bit of a shock right near the end but everything works out to a surprising ending. Looking forward to book three!!
A great installment not as good as the first though
Georgia's personality in this kind of disappointed me. In the first book she was very strong and independent, but in this she was a follower and honestly wimpy. It was mostly sad, stockholmy, but it had a great ending. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
Page turner... couldn’t put this book down, backstabbing going on here from a family member, 😮 WOW!!!! Not sure yet how she could eat real food being a vampire...love witches.. definitely a box series you don’t want miss.. can’t wait to read the next book.
Even though this series is not that great there is something so compelling about it i find myself needing to finish all 3 books and this rarely happens. This was thrilling in parts, frustrating in others but i will still carry on and read the last book in the series as its only 200 pages long so it would be rude not to.
LOVED IT!!! Georgia really takes off in this book. Expect the unexpected. I caught on early on what was going on with Georgia. All the ups and downs were great. I don't like being told about what happens in a book or movie until I read it or watch it. So, no spoilers. Thanks again, Ms Jane, for a totally captivating book. On to book 3.
Georgia and Zach were just figuring out their lives when a new threat enters the picture. Zach’s body is taken over by a witch hunter. Georgia has to save Zach all while keeping from doing the hunter Zach! Good, funny at times, tear jerking at others... on to book 3!
2.5 I think it was stupid that there was a romance(I don't even know if you can call it that) between the maincharacter, which already had a love interest, and some 800 years old partly bad guy who dies in the end. I do not know if I will continue because a pregnancy story does not peak my interest one bit.

First Witch is a great sequel to the first book in this series. Georgia and her sister, Skye, are now vampires living with Zak. Aunt Melissa shows up and helps Georgia develop her witch powers, and warns her of the dangerous Witch Hunter whose sole purpose is to destroy all witches in their family line. What follows is a story of magic and betrayal.
Book 2 was just as jammed packed as book 1. The storyline was unique and different but the action, romance and characters we loved from book 1 were there. Love this series!
I read a lot of series and this one is at the top of my favorites. It’s loaded with action so it is a fast read. The characters are enjoyable and believable. It has an interesting twist that I didn’t predict either. Definitely worth your time and money.
Spoiler alert☆ I actually reallly enjoyed this book, but why is it that every time at the end of most vampire female books, especially the ones who say they can't get pregnant.... end up getting pregnant. Other than that I felt it had a good amount of girl power, kicking ass attitude.

A wonderful continuation of First Blade. I love the storyline and the connection between all of the characters. This book is just as fast paced and sexy as the first. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 3!!
This is a mesmerising story, with witches and vampires and hunters. It is suspenseful and heart stopping. I didn’t see all of the twists and turns coming. This is such a good story.
Great second book in this series. Sadly i actually liked the bad guy better than the hero of the story. Oh well great book overall a dang good book that i can recommend to every fantasy Fan. The Witches are epic, the vampires are a bit lost and everyone else is scrambeling. Great funny story.
