**This is the second book in the series but can be read first**

“I’ve always been able to see the auras. But I knew you couldn’t because you refuse to see the darkness in people and I didn’t want you to ever change. So I didn’t tell you.”

Fate thought the prophecy was over. She graduated high school, made big plans with her family and her boyfriend to travel the world, and got a full-ride scholarship for college in the fall.

Despite blowing up the chemistry lab twice.

But all that changes when the witches show up, because the war they thought they won is just beginning and without Fate and Destiny leading the way, it’s a war they will all lose. Unfortunately, the coven wants them to lead separate teams. Like they somehow don’t realize Fate works better with her sister by her side.

Oh, and Damien.

Damien isn’t going to let the girl he loves face these odds alone. In fact, he’ll risk everything, even her, to help win this battle and keep her alive. Damien makes an impossible choice, one that will change them all.

Sometimes, love isn’t the answer.

Oh my heart!

Picking up a fews months after the first, Destiney and Fate are once again tossed back into war agents evil and certain death. This time around we are following Fate and Damien. This made me giddy, because it was all about Destiney in the first.

Like the first book I was sucked in right from the start. I couldn't stop reading, well this is until I got sick. There are few things that can stop me from reading, and I learned last week that a high fever is one of them. Outside of that draw back, and me acting like a spoiled child, I have overcome my illness (with the help of antibiotics.) It didn't take lone for me to get re-sucked back into this book.

The flow was a little slow at the start. I was a little worried that once it was stated that the girls would have to go for training, that the book would fall into the magical school cliché. But I'm glade that it wasn't the case. No cliché's here. It was actually fun watching the girls get their asses handed to them and, we get to see them grew a little more into their own persons. They themselves learn that they are just as different as they are the same.

Their time training is also a nice, calm before the storm, you could say. Because holy hell. My heart, it's a good thing I didn't read this while I was sick, because I probably would have died for reals. I've grown quite attacked to all the characters, though I want to gush about a certain one I don't want to ruin the major plot twist. But.. OMG why!!!! ....

This book was a wild ride and I wasn't sure if everything would have worked out, still not sure if everything is okay. A lot of questions are answered and new ones have been opened. Those answer will have to wait unlit the next book. Can't wait!!!

I highly recommend the book and this series. Wendy has created an astounding magical world that is the destroyer cliché's, the creator of making Love Potions the most deadly thing next to the a-bomb, and it is one of the best reads that has ever grace the pages of YA. This is a series that needs to be read by all!

I'm loving this series so far! I love the quirky attitudes of Fate and Destiny, and I love the little bits of humor throughout the book. I also love the action, and all the witchy goodness! The broom flying was awesome! This is the second book in the series, so I'd recommend reading the first book before this one, or there will be spoilers, and the first book has a lot of information that is definitely helpful to know when reading this one. This book is told from Fate and Damien's POV's, and while I enjoyed getting both their POV's, I was really missing Destiny's POV, and I would have loved to have some chapters with the events happening with Destiny, but I get that this is Fate's book, so the main focus is on her story. Fate and Destiny have been told that they need to train for a big battle coming up and that each girl will lead a team of witches separately, and they must go without their family and without their boyfriends Damien and Quin, so both girl's are having a hard time with being separated from everyone; especially each other, but they both know they need to do what they can to save the witches from being killed by the warlocks. Fate and Destiny training in witchy things was so fun! I loved all of that! I also really love the connection between the girl's and their boyfriends; the romances are so sweet! As I said earlier, this is Fate and Damien's story, and I loved getting to see their relationship on a deeper level, and to understand the connection they share. They both are put into very difficult situations, and my heart was breaking for both of them a couple times. Fate really comes into her own, and shows how strong she really is, and she kicks some major butt! This book is a complete story and I know a prequel is coming out, but I'm not sure if there will be a book 3, but I would definitely love if there were! Looking forward to more in this series and more by Wendy Knight!!

Fire Burn is a bundle of magic and love. Of course there are some horrible, ugly, evil warlocks as well – but Destiny, Fate, and their crew are nothing if not determined.

While the story picks up where Cauldron Bubble left off, each book can be read as a stand alone and neither really has a cliff hanger. It's helpful to have read Cauldron Bubble first, but not essential. Fire Burn is the story of Fate and Damien. Where Destiny likes to lurk in the shadows, Fate is everything light. And Damien is her perfect match. He has so much love and goodness in him that he is able to do what no one else can. But – I don't want to spoil the story so I'll just leave it at that.

I really enjoyed the training scenes where Fate and Destiny learned how to use a wand, fly a broom, etc. Their different personalities, along with their strengths and weaknesses really came out. They were truly put to the test when they headed off on their mission, a mission that seemed doomed from the start.

Overall, Fire Burn was a thrilling read – one that took twists and turns I didn't anticipate. I loved the character growth and development in both Fate and Damien. The relationship between Fate & Destiny was also developed in new ways – the twins' dependence on each other and their love for each other grow and changes.

As an added bonus – there were some fun references to The Unicorns of Paradesos Series.

FYI ~ clean read. mild language.

This is the second instalment in the Toil and Trouble Series by Wendy Knight and is about Fate and Damien. In this story there is a war brewing with the witches and warlocks and only Fate and Destiny can save them, but they need to train to fly a broom and use a wand as well as other magical possibilities.

Fate and Destiny find it hard to be separated from each other that there magic only really works well when they work together.

I really enjoyed this one with the banter they had between each other, but when they actually go to war they are really serious, we see changes with Damien too.

We also hear about the characters in The Unicorns of Paradesos Series, which is really fun to hear when another series does a crossover.

Wendy Knight has excelled herself in this and I look forward to reading the next book.

The excitement doesn't end in book one so don't think you get a reprieve. The twins Fate and Destiny have a role to play and the end has already been determined or has it. While they are being told they have to go it alone the twins take things into their own hands. Lives are in jeopardy, witches and humans alike. It's going to take drastic measures and sacrifices to bring things under control. It's a fast paced race to the finish and that's what I love about this author. While there is plenty of imagery and lessons to share it doesn't distract from the story and isn't repetitive. The sisters and their gang of support make this an enjoyable read and make you want to finish the series to find out what they will be doing next. The books actually read like a standalone but you will miss the experience if you don't read them all.

Even better than book one!

As a new war rages on, it's up to Fate and Destiny to lead the battle separately. Warlocks have taken over Scotland and it seems to be a battle Fate can't win, even with her experienced team of witches. As things progress, tragedy strikes, dimming Fate's light, but she holds on to Destiny for dear life and the strength of her coven. The girls learn they have strength far beyond what they ever imagined. It's a battle of the ages that will turn the tides in one way or the other. With love and light guiding their way, will they have what it takes to win? You have to read and find out.
Book two had me hooked from the beginning! New friendships and allies are formed and the twins grow even more throughout the book. Wendy truly outdid herself. I was so emerged in this book, it killed me to put it down when work called me away. Another 5 magical stars! I can't wait for book three! By the way, there's a sneak peek at the end. Happy reading! You won't be disappointed!

Amazing and Enchanting Story of two sisters struggling to save the world and survive long enough to have a future filled with love and harmony. The action and intensity in the adventure grip you from the very beginning and do not let go (even a few minutes after I read the end I was still not able to handle reality just yet) These girls are just so fearlessly loyal, strong, smart and so dam brave you can't help but love them. Their boys are the perfect combination for the sisters and keep them together through all the craziness. Just a very emotional and yet also magical adventure filled with family and love.

While we don't get to see the girls together as much in this one or as many of their 'in their head' conversations, Fate & Destiny are still trouble. The good kind of trouble, but trouble none the less and it's clear that they've rubbed off on their boyfriends. Quin & Damien really want to help out and they won't "sit at home" while the girls are out fulfilling a prophecy, so off they go with Luca & Alina.

We do get chapters in this one from Damien's POV and see how much he really does love Fate and what he'll do to help save her as well as finding out some pretty big news about witches & magic. Now, I'm wondering what will happen next.

This was awesome. Fate and Destiny were so badass like boom deal with it stars and then comes where I stopped liking the author.... what happened to Damien as wholly unnecessary (it helped the plot but I didn't like it) and that ending was good

I loved book one, focusing on Destiny and Quin, and so despite loving the author I was a bit worried as to whether I would be okay with the character switch. Despite loving Destiny I actually enjoyed reading from Fate's point of view more. I actually related to her more so than with Destiny. I loved her and Damien's connection and loyalty to one another. So much that they literally risked their lives on nothing but trust for the other. I found Damien far more endearing than I did Quin. This book answered many questions from the first book. It gave more backstory to the warlocks and the war as well as information about Eldest and Ancient. I can see Destiny and Fate growing old and leading the coven in their places a long time in the future.

I also loved how the differences in the twins were highlighted in this. One is good at one thing, the other another. What one fears and dislikes, one embraces and loves. Do not get me wrong. I love the twin thing, their connection and similarities. However I think it is also important to remember they are actually different people with different skill sets and personalities. This book highlights it more than the first. I may start a war saying this but I think after reading both books Fate is much more capable than Destiny. I think she is actually the stronger of the two and the better leader. I think she just never gave herself enough credit or was willing to upstage her sister.

Overall the plot was quick paced and filled with action while still allowing for the characters to grow into themselves, all of them. Getting to know the light side of the twin coin was amazing and I really hope there will be another book where perhaps it will focus on both girls and their points of view!

An encapturing read!

Destiny and Fate have their entire lives ahead of them... if they can make it out of this upcoming war alive.

Training to fight, for survival...
A disappearance...
War...
An unexpected surprise. Holy sh*t! That was wow!

Such a delicately dark and delightful read!

Love. Always love. Love is pure. Love is good. Love is cure.

Full of darkness and light, witches, warlocks, surprises, family and love.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romance.

Reread: Audiobook

Fate and Destiny graduate from college but are then sent to Magic school to learn in a week what it has taken over witches years to learn. Only things do not go smoothly. Before the week is up, they need to go separately to take their own teams to battle the warlocks in Scotland. This book seems a lot more serious than the first one. They still have light hearted moments, but the battles are unlike anything they saw last time. Will they all make it home? Cannot wait for book 3. This book definitely leaves you wanting more.
