HA HA sucks to be J.T.! I found this e-book yesterday morning while I was checking out the "shop" on my Nook. The synopsis alone was enough to make me break my book buying ban.
Reckless is about a small town sheriff (the towns name is Barley...yes like Oats and Barley.) named J.T. who is trying really hard to fight his lust and feelings for his best friends little sister Nikki. Now Nikki on the other hand is absolutely determined to make him hers, even though he's 12 years older than her...Failure is NOT an option.
She's been in love with him for many years and now that she's back in town and both of them are responsible adults she's not letting him get away without out a fight...Even if it means that she has to get herself arrested to achieve her goal.
Then when they finally get together there are shocking realities (in J.T.'s case), sizzling sex and a huge case of misunderstandings on both of their parts. But there is a happy ending for all parties.
This is the stand-alone sequel to Brazen (yes I broke my ban again to buy Brazen). The main characters from Brazen make an appearance in Reckless as well.

J.T promised to take care and look out for Nikki when her brother deployed but she´s just so tempting. Hiding out at work seems to be the only way to stay away from her. Until she manages to get arrested. Showing up in cuffs should do the trick, right?
Quick read, contemporary romance and smutty fluff in a great combo.
Listened to the audioversion and the narrator was great.

The double standard in this killed the vibe. Nikki is constantly chasing after JT in extreme ways in this novella, and he repeatedly says no until finally giving in. If this were a man doing the same thing to a woman, it would be seen as predatory.. just as it is when Nikki does it to JT.

This was a sexy brothers best friend romance. Because these two have a history, the story jumps right into their romance. This sexy novella will have you needing a cold shower.

Short Novella Missing Emotional Weight
THE STORY: J.T. Summers is the sheriff in a small town and has a problem. His best friend's sister is back in town and she is after him. J.T. promised her brother that he would keep an eye on her. Now all he wants to do is avoid her because she is hunting him and he is lusting after her. Nikki Durant knows that J.T. is the one for her. She just needs to convince him.
OPINION: This was a mildly pleasant story but it just doesn't have compelling enough characters or emotional weight to be memorable. I think it is one of those stories that I'm not sorry that I read but am unlikely to read again. Nikki seems immature to me and I didn't feel any connection between her and J.T. It seemed more like a childish obsession than serious love.
WORTH MENTIONING: There is an appearance by the heroine and heroes from BRAZEN for fans of that book.
FINAL DECISION: This novella is a perfectly adequate one time read.
CONNECTED BOOKS: This is the sequel to BRAZEN.
STAR RATING: I give this novella 3 stars.

So I read this book probably when it came out in 2008 and I'm sure at the time, it might have been pretty good. Now, I'm not as impressed.
Nikki (virgin) tries to seduce her brother's BFF, JT (sheriff), but ya know - she's forbidden and all that. So you've got about 85% of the book with her trying to win him over and him fighting to keep away from her. When they do have sex, it is decently hot.
Thankfully, the book is super short.
I'm trying to go back and write reviews for books I've read.

nikki and jt good story but too short....nikki wants j t so bad but he is 12 yrs older then her...her brother lucas asked jt to keep an eye on her since she moved back to town...she just about seducing him and he really wants her as well but not for a one nite stand...she chases him he finally gives in to her(she was a virgin and he was her first) now he wants her forever...lucas comes home and he an jt fight it out but in the end he is happy for them both

1.5 stars. I get that it's a novella, but the relationship development still happens at warp freaking speed, and the heroine is waaaayyy too immature to pretend she has any business being with someone older than her. Did not work for me at all. Saved from a one star review because there's nothing technically wrong with it from a writing standpoint.

Heart warming
I didn't expect anything less then perfect from Maya Banks. She has always has a way of drawing you in and keeping you there till the end. I read this book in one day, I look forward to reading her next book. Five stars for sure Reckless is sweet, hot and tender all wrapped up in one outstanding book.

I listened to this one on audiobook and it was pretty good. It was short but I didn’t feel like it needed much. There wasn’t too much back story but I don’t think there needed to be since you could see yourself in that position. The audio itself wasn’t bad! Overall, I would recommend if you’re looking for something quick and satisfying without too much investment.

5% story, 95% sex. It was ok. Evidently this is the 2nd book in a series. Chandra Skyye is narrators and does a good job overall. She doesn’t pronounce the t in the middle of words-a speech impediment that is like fingernails on a chalk board—my problem, I’ll grant. She also pronounced ‘wanton’ as ‘wonton’. Sigh.

Nikki has balls of brass, she has more confidence in herself than I've ever read. J.T. didn't have a chance. J.T. is an ass and he doesn't deserve her. Not my favorite Maya book, listened to it on audio, not sure if that made a difference or not.

I really like Maya Banks as a writer and she puts out some awesome books. This was a cute one but way too short. It didn't have enough character substance for me to really connect with and then the book ended.

I enjoyed this book and have read it twice. Nikki has always loved J.T. and he sure seems to be trying to resist her. Loved getting updates on Jasmine,Seth and Zane too. It’s a fun and sexy book with a happy ever after.

2.5. Silly story line. Satisfied my desire for a short audiobook while I wait for a different one to become available. Nobody in real life speaks like the characters spoke. Decent enough writing though, and some good ol’ smut hah.

A must read
Maya delivered another well written sexy romance. I don't read bdsm/ dom books. This isn't one of those. Their not my thing but I own more than a few of Maya Banks 's other books. I really like her style of writing. This is just one of her hot romance books.

I don't know why I keep reading books by this author. I'm never a fan of her dialogue, characters, and storylines, but yet I've read at least 3 books. I guess I come for the smut but I'd still like a good story, with good characters, to go along with it.

Another winner by Maya Banks!!! I'm running out of great things to say about her. She is genius!!! This book was more like a Novella. It was short and fantastic!!!!
