Tinker Bell’s life has changed so much in the past six months. She’s gone from being a poor music student to the girlfriend of a member of one of the most successful bands in the world. In Learning to Fly, the third in the UK Crush series, she travels to New York City with Teddy to compete in the most important piano audition of her life, to prestigious Hamilton Conservatory.
Life has never been easy for her, and though knowing Gethin, Ronan, Matthew, and of course, Teddy, has been wonderful, life is still fraught with unforeseeable problems. Her relationship with Teddy continues to grow as she falls more in love with him in beautiful wintertime Manhattan, and surprises await in the magical city of her dreams.
I was born in Japan, raised in central California, and am now lucky enough to live in New York City. I've wanted to write for so long, and decided to celebrate my birthday by finally doing it! Anyone, everyone who wants to, DO IT. Write what you love, what makes you happy, otherwise what's the point? There's nothing like getting a tearful text from an advance copy beta reader asking, "Why?? Why did you do that to her?!" Being a substitute teacher for fifteen years gave me some good ideas for what today's younger readers would enjoy, and I hope you do :o)

You know what they say, third time (and book!) is the charm! So obviously, this is the third in the series and is the one I can say I have enjoyed the most! In a way, I’m surprised I liked it as much as I did, and here’s why: I’m the type of person who enjoys conflict in a book. I think it makes it more interesting and generally runs the risk of being less cheesy. (Which is why I was so fond of the second half of the second book.) With this book, Learning to Fly, there is pure bliss and absolutely no hint of any major, game-changing conflict. Instead, there’s a lot of good things happening to our main couple but rather than eliciting eye rolls it makes you want to clap for them!
This book was an absolute joy to read and is really dream worthy! (I happen to be in love with New York, which is where this story takes place!) What makes this story so special is that as a reader, you know, you just know, that something major is about to take place next (not a spoiler, just a feeling) so you really want to savour the good moments when they happen.
Now, a few (minor) gripes with the story. There are a TON of intimate scenes. I have no problem with the sexual content in itself, I just found that the amount borderlined tedious because most of them didn’t accompany a significant plot event (think makeup sex or angry sex). It’s like they had sex nightly, and each time it was done it was described. I almost found myself skimming those scenes just to get to more of the plot!
This is actually more of a compliment-complaint: I wish the other boys of UKC were in it more! Don’t get me wrong, physically they’re there for a good portion of the book, but I found them to have a bit of a more minor role this time around. Unlike the first two books, there wasn’t any romantic/sexual drama between Tinker Bell and two of the boys. I really hope to see even more of them later!
Overall, the writing is beautiful as usual, New York is done justice, and I’m SO excited to see where the story goes next.
3.5 rating In comparison to the first two books in the UK Crush series, I found Learning to Fly to be comfortable. There's a lot of love in this book. It also had TWO of the biggest milestones in Aileen's life, which is awesome. To make it even better, they happen one right after the other, making one hell of an epic week at the end of the book!
I love that Aileen (Tink) was able to get everything straightened out with her classical music career, especially after the near life threatening sabotage that was put in place in book 2. Tink pulled herself back up, spent the perfect amount of time with her original professor and wound up nailing her performance in an audition of a lifetime. She and Theodore (Teddy) spent a few very romantic weeks together in NYC which was very much a dream come true for her. I love Aileen's humble approach at life and in her travels. I also really liked that they did so many touristy things together.
Although everything about this book, including the ending, was absolutely predictable -- it was still overflowing with juicy bedroom scenes and refreshingly normal relationship situations. They attend famous events together as a regular couple. As a whole I thought this particular book was cute. Their public affection for each other is beautiful, and their private time is heart thumping hot hot hot!
The book is just lovely. Aileen Foster or Tinkerbell as she is currently known leads a wonderful life. Her dreams keep coming true, some of those she didn't even know we're there until she experienced them. This is because: 1. She's still with her awesome boyfriend, Theo (Teddy) Shelly, 2. She's moved to New York for her audition for Hamilton, 3. She gets to live her dream of living in New York and with her boyfriend Theo, 4. She gets accepted into Hamilton to pursue her music education and career and 5. She gets engaged to her boyfriend, Teddy Shelly.
Honestly, I believe she deserves what's happening to her because before the band, her life was too boring. Plus she's a good person who always looks out for others and was always trying to please other more than herself. I believe it's the universe telling her she's awesome.
If your looking for a book filled with love and care you've come to the perfect place. Essentially when I started to read this book i was automatically happy about the first few pages and I knew what the book had to offer from just reading those,I honestly think everyone will just love Teddy and his kind ways, and Tinker Bell and her loving ways, this book couldn't be any better then any other book I've ever read, I really fell in love with this book simply because there was so much love in it.But it's also filled with some really beautiful suprises. So if your looking for a wonderful book filled with beautiful suprises, and happy endings I think you've come to the right place. I would recommend this amazing book to anybody!!!!!!!!💓
OK OK BUT IF YOU'VE NOT READ THIS BOOK, I'M AFRAID YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON SO MUCH.
The love that is created in this book is just, quite literally, indescribable. This series is phenomenal, outstanding, mind-blowing. This book though, I really can't express how much I love and and am literally struggling to find words. The {SPOILER ALERT} proposal at the end legitimately had me weeping, a pool of emotions. The whole book is just so fantastic and I LOVE IT

This is a book 3 of the UK Crush series featuring Matthew (Matt), Gethin (Geth), Ronan (Ro), Theodore (Theo/Teddy), and Aileen (Tink/Birdie). Also staring Janelle (Gethin's sister). You guessed right, I love to act.....and I'm taking the role of Aileen!! 😍
Long gone is "Aileen the Mouse", replaced with the "Wiry Bitchstatic" New year's eve party was splendid , from the dress, shoes, makeup, surrounded by wonderful friends and a breathtakingly gorgeous man at arms! Swoon!
She Said Yes!!! A perfect birthday gift for my Teddy 😙 Ohhhhhh!!!!! That's like the most romantic proposal ever, with all 3 of us crying (Teddy, Birdie and I). Or I forgot I was acting as Birdie, so take that back 😂😂...with both of us (Teddy and I) crying our love and hearts out of pure joy. It was super duper epic! Teddy is so attentive, all the questions about her (my) thoughts on marriage, the significance of a wedding band (rings), her, no "my" favourite place visited.... Jeeeez, he listened, in every sense of the word "Listen" and made it sooo perfect. OMG! I'm tripping.....swooooonnnnn!!!!! 😗
I did fly in Learning to Fly. I flew along with Tink in her decision of what to wear and the piece to play for the audition, throwing caution to the wind , infact higher if I may say, hahahaha. And yes again, Tink got the scholarship!
My darling Ro kept my spirit high while I read this book, he's always quick to open his beautiful mouth and out with the words before thinking. Lol. Matty has given up his feelings for Tink, but Geth... well, dunno.
I love love stories, so this did it for me Tani, thank you for making me "read my dream" I hope the "wendies" and JeniJ along with their hate can be out of the rest of the books.
Learning to Fly, the continued story of Tink and Teddy's love story; wonderful! I love the way Tink is friends with all of the UK Crush members, and also their families. They are all one big family together, in spite of outside forces trying to break them apart. I enjoyed reading about the ups and downs of their lives together, the good and the bad, and also all the prep work she had to do for the audition for her future studies. There's a whole lot of love in this book, and the final day in the book is real old-fashioned romance when Teddy gets down to it! I'm looking forward to the next phase of their lives together.
I started reading the UKC Series just a few weeks ago and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the books! Usually I'm not a big fan of romantic books, but with this story, it was was hard to put the book down! Aileen developed from a shy, private and driven music student to an outgoing, confident young woman, all with a little help from Matty, Ronan, Geth and Teddy. Not only her relationship with Teddy, but also her friendship with the three other boys are described beautifully and in a way that makes you want to be friends with them, too! (Which is a bit heart breaking because the characters are fictional hehe)
The book was so positive, passionate and romantic very very romantic.Finished the book in one day literally, loved it when writer point out the social issues they were so apt and on point. Love the way tinker bell(aileen foster) grow from being a shy and underconfident girl in first book to sexy, confident and outgoing girl in the third book. Also the way the writer has described the relationship between the boys and tinker bell is marvellous.
I enjoyed this book so much I finished it in a day. So the third instalment in the UK crush series contains large elements of love, passion and just all round loveliness. We witnessed a lot Tinker Bell’s dreams being fulfilled which was ace and it’s just a pleasure seeing how much in love they both (Teddy & Tink) are.
There was barely any conflict in this book which surprisingly did not bother me. I was caught being in love with their love. It was truly a splendid read I hope to see more of the boys in the other books.
This is the third book in the UKC series. It continues the storyline if the previous book and tells of Tinkerbell's audition and success. In a very romantic scene, we see Teddy proposing to her. Overall, this is quite the book and I'll read it again and again and again and again! Good job, Tani!
This is the important book of UK crush series because in this book Tinker make her dream come true. This book hold a 2 big turn of Tinker’s life. Tink and Theo both are so adorable. They both spent a very sweet moments in NYC. The way Tinker bell pull herself up back after the incident in 2nd book its Amazing. She had strong personality I like that and Theo .... he is a price Charming. He make tinker his world. His everything revolved around tink and He can do anything for her. He is like every girl’s dream man. I completed this book in one sit read. This is wonderful book in this series and Beautifully written.
This review probably won't be as good as my first one sorry Tani lol, but I'll try my best. I honestly don't have one bad word to say about this book. It's positively amazing. It draws you in and won't let you go until you're done. I definitely recommend this series to everyone.
