Two years ago, I, Maxwell Newman fell in love and lost it as soon as I recognized it. She disappeared out of my life just like the fires that I smother when called upon as a lieutenant of the Austin Fire Department. I’m a man that has always gotten what he wanted when I wanted it.

4.5 Regret Stars
Have you ever had that "what the hell was I thinking" feeling? Like a true Homer Simpson "D'oh" moment? When you made a decision and then realize that was the worst decision ever. Yeah. That.
Sadie is not going to fall in love. Period. And she is happy with that decision. She thought her boyfriend Maxwell was on the same page. Until he wasn't.

Love is blind...love is something we all want, but at what cost?
Cold Hearted is about how much they wanted to protect their hearts, but sometimes love conquers all and you fold. Maxwell's job is all about saving lives. He's a firefighter and a hardheaded ladies' man. Sadie is strong, driven hard worker. We are taking on their journey of love a gone wrong. We see the struggle they both go through in life. When you lose at love, is it worth the fight or do you walk away? Love is a gamble are you willing to take?
There were so many times I wanted to scream at these characters. They were so bullhead. They couldn't see what was right in front of them. I honestly needed them to have a HEA and I usually don't need one to complete a story that I read normally. I felt the emotions of Max and Sadie. They needed a second chance to open their hearts and feel the love they shared.

Maxwell is a firefighter. Wants to have sex with no string attached. Until he meets Sadie. Sadie is the same way. All is good for them until he tells her he loves her. She runs like always. She realizes she has made a mistake. Will it be to late for them?
I love this authors writing skills. There are sex scenes but not the over the top descriptive ones. She brings her characters into real life every day situations that can happen to all of us at any given moment. You can relate to her characters. All of her books there is always a lesson to be learned.

Introduced to Brooklyn Taylor by I am a bookhorder, Helene Cuji. Met her at COPA 2017 and she is the sweetheart & so much fun, & creative, armadillo poop. Let's talk about this book, Cold Hearted. It took some time for me to get into this book, not sure why. It's about a hot, man whore, firefighter, Maxwell. Maxwell goes & falls in love with a woman Sadie. Only to have his feelings thrown back into his face, the story picks up from there. You will have to read it yourself to find out if they get HEA.

I loved this book!❤️ The story of Maxwell and Sadie is a love story gone wrong. This is a story of what happens when you are too scared to feel love, true love and what happens when it slips from your life. It is a story of heartache and fear. A story of taking a second chance with an open heart. It is a story of realization - the realization that all good things can come with some pain but that it will all be worth it in the end! If you love a hot firefighter who loves a fiercely independent woman than this book is for you!

Amazing book! When you think your relationship is amazing and dont want to change anything life throws you curve balls. Maxwell will show his true feelings but will Sadie show her true feelings or tuck and run?

Maxwell was the hot firefighter who only wanted no strings sex until he met Sadie. They both wanted the same thing until his feelings changed. By the time he realized he was in love with Sadie he was too far gone to change it. Sadie never wanted to love anyone she didn't even thunk she was capable. This story had me feelings so many things at point even anger. That's how you know you get all the feels. This story isn't always pretty but it's a journey to love. I guess the saying is true if you love someone set them free and if they come back it was meant to be.

What a great book. Must say first up I loved the ending. The whole way through book I kind of hoped this would happen. Maxwell is a loveable guy who gets his heart broken twice, battles through to win the love of his life back. Sadie the coldhearted one, has to work through her issues to get to her happy ending. I loved how the characters all interacted together throughout book, made it flow very smoothly. Can't wait to read more from this author. ❤️

Sadie Wilson never planned on falling for Maxwell Newman and when he confessed his love for her she ran scared. Now she must learn to live with her actions, even if they make her seem Coldhearted.
I was so happy when I learned that Ms. Taylor was giving us the story of Sadie and Maxwell. I fell hard for these characters in Brokenhearted and knew she would give them the justice they deserved. One thing I should have counted on but for some reason didn't was the copious amount of tears and anguish I would suffer while reading. (I mean that in the best possible way!) Brooklyn Taylor is always wonderful at extracting ALL the feels and did not disappoint with this one!

I loved Maxwell and Sadie. They are complex characters that will have you turning the page because you want their story. You want to know if they will get everything they want and need in their lives. Coldhearted is another great read by Brooklyn Taylor. As usual, her stories really make you think about your own life and the choices you make, as well as the consequences of those choices. Coldhearted is really uniquely written, sort of telling two stories at once. One is of a past relationship, one is of a current relationship, and both come to a head at the end of the book.
It centers around Maxwell, who is every girl's fantasy. A sexy fire fighter who has a heart of gold that keeps getting stomped on. We follow him during his relationship with Hannah and as he reflects on his past relationship with Sadie. Sometimes things aren't always as they seem.
Hannah teaches us that there's more than what meets the eye. Sadie teaches us not to be so guarded and that it's ok to let yourself love and be loved. Maxwell teaches us that the heart wants what it wants, logic be dammed.
It was also nice to revisit with characters from Brokenhearted and seeing what they're up to now. All in all, I enjoyed the unique story telling and this realistic plot that I think far to many of us can relate to.

Sadie and Max date for over two years and one second changed both of their lives.
Please read this book! You definitely will not be disappointed!

Maxwell and Sadie will take you to one of the most intense story about two people with so many demons to defeat however one of them goes and takes the leap of faith and gives his heart but Sadie is not ready. That will open the door to so many events this two will have to face in order to find their happy ending.
Maxwell will show you how sometimes you will have to let go of what you think is forever in order to make it yours for the rest of your life. This is one of the most passionate story with a gorgeous man showing you how real man shade tears of pain and joy for their true love.
I have read many stories from Brooklyn Taylor but not any of them compares to the intensity the love this two characters show for one another. As I read each page my admiration for the story and the author grew more and more. I loved it and you will too once you read it. It will stay with you for the rest of your life. You will not be disappointed.

Brooklyn Taylor brings a powerful punch to the meaning of second chance romances and I’ve not read one quite like this before. This book is about finding love, losing it, regretting it, finding it again, and doing everything within your power to hold on to it. I don’t want to say too much about the story itself because you need to experience it for yourself. Overall, it’s a fantastic story and worth the read.

about all of her books and she has a way with her writing, she brings you into the story
of her characters. Brooklyn Taylor has a fan in me for sure.

It took me a while to realistic that Sadie and Maxwell are from Brokenhearted! I love this book, these characters are amazing! it was aggravating, it was hawt, and it was worth it

Wow. From page one I was completely sucked into this story. I HAD to know what was going to happen next! Brooklyn Taylor brings a powerful punch to the meaning of second chance romances and I’ve not read one quite like this before. This book is about finding love, losing it, regretting it, finding it again, and doing everything within your power to hold on to it. I don’t want to say too much about the story itself because you need to experience it for yourself. Overall, it’s a fantastic story and worth the read.

What do you get when you pair a sexy hot firefighter with an independent carefree woman who is afraid to open up to him? A very hot love story!!!! Brooklyn Taylor beautifully tells the story of Sadie and Maxwell – a couple drawn to each other from the start and the passionate relationship they have - the realization of a love that neither was ready for and each responded to differently. This is a story of second chances – the reality of love lost because of fear of commitment and the realizing of the great things that happen when you trust and open up to someone. Well written and incredibly touching, this book is a must read!!!

This is the first story I read by Brooklyn Taylor. She is new author to me so the blurb about Cold Hearted intrigued me. It was a good story about a hot firefighter Maxwell Newman who thought he found true "love" with the no nonsense, independent Sadie Wilson. This second chance romance was filled with angst, happiness, sadness and anger all in search of love. Both Maxwell and Sadie have major issues with love and being in love which is the basis of the story.
Maxwell Newman and Sadie Wilson are faced with many obstacles on their journey towards happiness but it is here where we realize how if two people are meant to be together perhaps love does prevail.
Brooklyn Taylor did a great job making this story real with real feelings and emotions. Max and Sadie's personalities made their characters believable which made you feel all the happiness and yes heartache that they were faced with. The dual points of view from both of them added credibility into their roller coaster ride but it is a ride worth taking all in the name of love.

Found this very easy to get into and then couldn't put it down. Emotional and very gripping. A story telling of a love lost that wasn't realised until it was too late. You find yourself willing for all to work out right for them throughout. Fantastic writing from Brooklyn Taylor once again. I loved it x

Who doesn't enjoy a book about a hot ass fireman?! There hasn't been a character that I loved more than Maxwell in a long time. It was easy to feel what he was feeling and empathize with his situation. This is probably one of my favorite Brooklyn Taylor books yet!!

I loved this story. I didn't not expect the twist that this book took. I loved Sadie, who is a little messed up by her experiences and expectations. I really felt sorry for her. Maxwell is quite the catch and decides to settle down. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved the journey each one took.
