Alex has been writing all his life. "I've produced film and theatre reviews, speeches for myself and other people, reports with different subject matter and of varying length -from two paragraphs to twenty single-space pages, letters and orders." But he only turned to fiction - and gay BDSM fiction at that - in recent years.

Alex is the pen and play name of a mature Leatherman, who grew up in the north of England and has lived for many years in Southern California.

His boots and leather fetishes go back to his teenage years, but only recently has he started to use them as a spur for stories.

Now semi-retired, he relishes life as an author, a working theatre actor/director, a researcher and a member of several charitable boards. He still enjoys riding occasionally, both Western and English, after many years as a rider/owner.

Most importantly, he continues his relationship with his wonderful partner Hank and enjoys the camaraderie and support of friends across the world. He's still working on improving his Leather topping skills with the active support of a number of generous bottoms and has continued practicing with his new single-tail whip.

Next Alex will be collaborating with a well-known male porn star on his autobiography, before trying another historical BDSM story set in Colonial times in the original American colonies and in England. He hopes readers and friends will stick around for these and many more.

He plans to catch up with you all at the next MAL, CLAW, IML, Dore Alley or Folsom Weekend in full Leather and tall boots.

A Joyfully Jay review.

I am starting this review with a warning that this book is NOT for everyone. This book contains scenes that include rape, sex trafficking, and dark BDSM. If those are not your cup of tea, please, stop reading this review here. If you are okay with the above…well, this may be the book for you!

The book starts out with a bang that reaches out and grabs you. Danny is deep undercover and finds himself in a situation where he doesn’t remember where he is or how he got there, and then the story begins as he “remembers” what has been going on over the past 10 days. Yes, this story encompasses just over a week’s time.

Told in both Danny’s and Mark’s POV, readers learn quite a bit about each of these characters’ past relationships and how they came to favor a bit of leather play in the bedroom. Explicit details that will have you panting for more as you read of Danny and his firsts, Mark and his firsts, Danny and Mark, Danny and Clint, and then Danny and members of Group7. If you like a romance in your BDSM, there is a bit of one brewing in the background, but this is definitely not anything I would classify as being romantic in any way, shape, or form. Instead, this is a piece of BDSM, some of it on the dark side, erotica through and through.

I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

This book was disturbing on many levels for me. It would have been a better book if the descriptors for penis were less juvenile. I found myself unable to take this book very seriously when grown men describe themselves using their "weapon" or other names for their d*ck.

On the mystery aspect, I felt this book was a 4.5. I really liked the mystery. I wished that this book focused more on the mystery rather than the initiation in to Group7. I really liked how everyone was involved, how there was so much mystery behind the group and I really liked how the mystery was set up. However, I felt that it kind of fell to the wayside when Dan began his quest to become a member.

Also, I did enjoy the relationship between Dan and Mark. I thought that it was a good mix of personalities. The new cop versus the seasoned cop - but Dom versus the sub. I think that if this relationship had been expounded on, it would have enhanced the story as well. But, when push came to shove, Mark didn't stand up for what he wanted and Dan was just kind of used.

I think that if the vocabulary were different throughout the story I would have enjoyed it more - I just couldn't get past the juvenile feel of the language.

Warning: This book contains scenes that include rape, sex trafficking, and dark BDSM.

I can’t say I really loved this book but I did like it. The authors writing was very easy to read even though the POV was told from both of the main characters. I do like dark BDSM but the rape and sex trafficking was a little more that I like to read. However I did get through it and I really did like it. There were scenes that I did not like such a scenes that the men spoke in a very juvenile manor.

I liked the mystery in the book and wish it was brought more to the forefront. I was very hesitate over the MC’s and it took me a while to warm up to them in fact it took until almost 2/3 of the way the book.

Fantastic

It took me a bit to get used to this author's style where he used dialogue to paint a picture rather than description. We hear a character talk about what they are seeing/doing rather than getting a description of it.

Once I did get used to it, I found that this book was exactly what I was looking for. It had hot cops, an interesting mystery, and some very steamy situations.
