Detailed instructions to numerous yoga postures (asanas), especially with helpful transitions from one asana to the next. However, the many names of the asanas differ from the names used by most American yoga instructors. Perhaps Australian yoga practice uses different nomenclature than American. To add to the confusion, this book does not use the Sanskrit names of each asana. Many yoga instruction books provide both the English and Sanskrit names of each asana.
One of the very best yoga books I have ever found. It really is a bible. Christina explains absolutely everything without complicated instructions. This is THE yoga book for today's yoga practice. I have material here (covering virtually ALL paths of Yoga) to develop and adapt for the rest of my life now, and I've been teaching Yoga for twenty-five years already.
I really liked this book, especially the chapter on breathing. My only (old lady) complaint is that some of the font is too small and too light, which made it difficult for me to read. Good stuff here though and it's very accessible for us yoga beginners.
Great resource for teachers, creative variations, touches on 4 types of yoga and philosophy. Great sequences too! A pretty good one to add to the collection but I rented it from the library. Highly recommend Christina Brown.
