Boomerangers is a hilarious and sweet second chance romance. I listened to the audio book and it literally had me laughing out loud so many times!
Spencer and Cooper were high school sweethearts until right before college when Cooper broke up with Spencer. He always thought it just wasn’t their time and they’d get back together, but then Spencer went off and got married and had children. Children that were not his. It completely gutted Cooper, but at the same time, he knows deep down it was his fault.
After a job loss, Spencer is back in the small town she grew up with and she and her three sons are going to stay with her mom for a bit. Cooper just got divorced and happens to be staying right next door with his parents. After all this time, sparks still fly between these two.
As much as I loved both Spencer and Cooper, I’ve got to say Kyle (aka Savage) stole the show for me. Every single scene that kid was in I either cracked up laughing or completely melted! I love single mom/dad books and this is the reason why! Kids like this are so amazing.
A little angst, some emotion, a bit of swoon and a lot of laughs, Boomerangers is a book you don’t want to miss out on!!!

He really grew on me by the end, but there were parts in the beginning her rubbed me the wrong way. His statement about kids and being confused on why they broke up in the first place and all that. Still, by the end he loved those kids so much and totally won me over.
As much as I loved both Spencer and Cooper, I’ve got to say Kyle (aka Savage) stole the show for me. Every single scene that kid was in I either cracked up laughing or completely melted! I love single mom/dad books and this is the reason why! Kids like this are so amazing.

This cover is OK. Doesn't really give you a hint to what the story is about but the couple on the cover is a good representation of the main characters in the story. The composition is good, and the typography is eye-catching.
This book was such a delightful little read. It was well written. Nicely paced. It was funny as hell. It had a little angst. Some feels. A fantastic cast of secondary characters. Kyle AKA Savage stole the show in this book for sure. Both main characters were likable (for the most part). All wrapped up in a sweet epilogue.
This was SO CLOSE to being a 5-Star read. Alas I had a tiny issue with the hero. In the beginning, he came across a bit like a petulant child. I mean it was HIM that initiated the breakup in the first place then he acts like the heroine moving on with her life was a betrayal. Also, his attitude towards her kids at the very beginning left a bad taste in my mouth. He does get A LOT better quickly, but the initial impression we are given of him lowered my enjoyment just a smidge.
Overall though I really enjoyed the hell out of this one. I hope that Gina gets her own book as well. Two thumbs up from yours truly.

This could have been a 5 star, but I never understood why Cooper broke up with Spencer right before college. No reason was given and supposedly he was never happy even though he slept with more OW than he can remember and was even married. He never tried to get her back or even clear the air for 15 years. Spencer only slept with 2 other men in those 15 years, but she did have children with both men. Cooper was very upset about the children because he thought of them as souvenirs of her life without him. I thought he deserved all of his hurt feelings because he dumped her for no reason and went on his merry way. If the reason for the breakup had been given and explained or if he hadn't been a manwhore and married someone else during the separation this could have been a 5 star book because the present day storyline was really good. Also I was bummed when he said he divorced his wife because she wanted kids and he didn't - he did admit he wasn't deeply in love with her, but he also thought at one point that the marriage was perfectly fine. That leaves me thinking he would have stuck with her if she hadn't wanted kids. The H and h only run into each other back home after his divorce and her losing her job- he didn't go after her and I don't think he ever would have. It's disappointing that their second chance only came about by accident.

Just as good the second time around!! A perfect read to lift your mood with all the crap going on in the world at the moment.
5 'Pooper' Stars!
Rom-com at it's best!
Spencer and Cooper were highschool sweethearts but after a misunderstood breakup just before college, Spencer leaves Cooper and her small town behind. She marries and has children, her relationships with her children's fathers don't work out and when she loses her job she has no choice but to return to her hometown to accept help from her parents.
When Cooper and Spencer first reconnect it was hard on both of them. Spencer thought Cooper had dumped her because she wasn't good enough (not the reason) and Cooper was pissed she'd had kids with other men (he didn't have the right to be pissed, IMO). That part broke my heart a little.
As they got to know each other again it became a seriously fun, sweet and heartwarming journey. I couldn't help but swoon over Cooper (Pooper) and Savage's relationship, that little boy was AWESOME!!
What made this such a great read for me besides the LOL moments was that all the characters were so real. You could see them being your neighbours, friends or family and that's a HUGE plus for me.
There was so many awkward moments that had me nearly pissing myself, again what made them so funny is that they were situations that happened to anyone with kids BUT it's the way they are written that makes them so funny.
The 'poop' incident! OMG, my stomach hurt with how hard I was laughing. Oh and the 'sex' talk with the twins was gold!
LOVED IT!! Fun, cute, sexy and LOL hilarious. You can't go wrong with Boomerangers if your looking for a rom-com to make you smile. Fans of single parent romances should also jump on this one to get their fix.

Overall Opinion: This was a cute, easy, and sexy read. I actually liked it better than I thought I would, so that's always nice! The interactions with the kids (especially the 2 year old) were hilarious! I love some good interactions with Hs and kids - and this hit the spot!! There were a few things that irked me , but it wasn't that much to make me dislike it. It also had a cute HEA. Overall I enjoyed it for what it was, but it's not going on my favorites shelf or probably be all that memorable in the long run.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Spencer and Cooper's story. They were childhood and high school sweethearts, and right before leaving for college they break up. Many years, a couple divorces, and 3 kids later they meet again and can't deny the strong feelings coming back. They dance around each other for a little bit, but eventually give in and start a friends-with-benefits type relationship. It doesn't last long and they cannot fight the fact that they both still love each other. There is some baby daddy drama, some sexy times, some laugh-out-loud moments...and they get a HEA ending.
POV: This alternated between Spencer and Cooper's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed, and I thought it flowed well.
Instalove: No, they've known each other since they were little kids.
H rating: 3 stars. Cooper. He was ok. If it wasn't for his mistake in the past I would've liked him more. I just wish we got an idea as to what that was all about.
h rating: 3 stars. Spencer. She was ok. I did get frustrated with her pushing the H away at times.

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

They both got married and divorced and she has 3 children. Also, as far as I have understood from the reviews I have read, we never learn why he broke up with her in the past.

El reencuentro de la pareja protagonista es horrible, así como sus primeras interacciones. Cómo se hablan, comportan y dirigen el uno al otro. No, no y no, menos mal que al final la cosa remonta un poco. Pero me encantó Savage, el hijo pequeño de la protagonista, Spencer, me pareció graciosisimo y la escena del pañal en la camioneta es taaaaaaaaan buena, que no podía parar de reír. Solo por eso le doy dos estrellas.

3.5 Stars!
This was another NTMA. I liked the book. It was funny, sweet, and a fun read.
Spencer is quite the mess when she finds out she is losing her job because the clinic she works at is closing because of a scandal. She's a single mother to 3 boys and has no choice but to pack up and move back home with her mom. On arrival she runs into her first love and high school sweetheart who broke her heart on grad night when he thought they had some growing to do apart. Cooper is recently divorced and has moved back home as well and is in the process of taking over his father's law firm.
Cooper has never loved anyone as much as he has Spencer. The problem standing between him having her is her 3 kids. He didn't and doesn't want children. If he had he'd want them with her. But knowing she has 12 year old twins with one man and a 2 year old with a different man puts a bad taste in his mouth. It was hard to like him in the beginning for the way he saw her kids as in the way of what he wanted. Especially since he had her to begin with and let her go. He eventually see's the light and comes around but it's hard for Spencer to trust him wanting not only her but her children as well. She's heard him say how he didn't want kids so why would he want to raise 3 that weren't even his. She's had enough of the men in her life walking away from them she doesn't want to add another disappointment to their lives. But Cooper goes over and beyond trying to get Spencer to trust him and to see that he loves her and wants them all. Here is where one of my issues with this book takes place. Cooper does a lot to reassure Spencer and she continues to go back and forth and I am not a fan of that kind of play. I get it. She has kids and needs to be sure. But she takes the whole damn book to get there. I just couldn't with all of the angst. Then there was the monumental amount of tears that was shed in this book. She cried ALL.THE.TIME. It is a huge pet peeve of mine and I get highly annoyed with it. I was beyond annoyed with her. I liked her, but all her back and forth and all the crying she does was just too much for me to deal with.
Besides that it was an enjoyable read.

2.5. Rounding down
**Synopsis:**
When Spencer's boss gets a lawsuit slapped against him for screwing one of his patients, the health clinic where she works shuts down and she's out of a job.
* “That fucker fucked one of his fucking clients and we’re being sued!”
Moving back home with mom seems to be her only option. And as luck would have it, her high school boyfriend also now lives with his parents. Next door neighbors once again, it’s clear the attraction is still there. However, there are some past hurts and some obstacles (namely 3 children) that stand in the way of their HEA.
** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
- I've only ever known Spencer to be a guys name, so it took me a little bit to acclimate myself to that name referencing a woman. Clearly a "me" thing
- Gotta love meddling mothers who are working together to make sure their kids get HEA’s.
- Who doesn’t love an adorable three year old? :) Savage was too cute for words.
- Th initial picture painted of Cooper left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. He broke Spencer's heart for no apparent reason when they were in high school, his first interaction with Spencer's kids wasn't good and then I found out the reason why he got divorced. Sum it all up and I didn't like him. I was really hoping there was a good explanation because his first impression sucked.
- why did Cooper break up with Spencer in high school? The reason why was never really explained and that left a big hole in the story. Without a clear understanding of why he did it, it made no sense and everything fell apart around it.
- cooper’s irresponsibility in choosing to drive drunk was really the final straw for me. I didn’t like him at all after that. A leading male character is usually written to make us readers swoon. But with his stupid choices and the stupid things that came out of his mouth, Cooper was a disappointing male hero.
- the thing with Kyle’s dad was resolved far too easily and pretty unbelievable too
- I only finished the story because the little 3 year old was so cute.
- I started out thinking I was really going to like the story, but Cooper just ruined the whole thing for me. I thought he was poorly written

- Who is the Hero? Cooper (age: 33). Attorney. Recently divorced, he moved back home take over the family law practice.
* H likable? No. I thought Cooper was selfish and the more I got to know him the more i disliked him.
- Who is the Heroine? Spencer (age: 33). Sex therapist, and she LOVES her job. :). She has three children by two different men and is not presently married to either (which is a good thing because they are jerks). Between her job and caring for 3 boys between the ages of 3-12, she has no time or energy to look for Prince Charming and is content to let her "toys" sustain her through her man drought.
* h likable? Yes.
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 20%
- First time they sleep together: 20%
- steamy? Yes. Descriptive bedroom scenes
- OW/OM drama? Not really. An ex shows up in the story but it isn’t something that drives a wedge between the H/h. The ex in the story had more to do with the children aspect.
- H/h cheat? Not exactly.....they were high school sweethearts, broke up (why??) and then went their separate ways for 15 years. Both married other individuals.
- Time apart? 15 years between high school and now.
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? Not really. Although Cooper’s reason for his divorce was quite surprising (and not in a good way)
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? Yes. Three year old Kyle (aka Savage) brought some comedy to the story.
- Did I swoon? No. in fact I wanted to throat punch Cooper.
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? Yes

4 Single Mama Stars
I’m on a parent binge and trying new authors. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. For some reason I feel like the cover didn’t match the book. Sure the book was light-hearted but it wasn’t like LOL funny, but anyhow, it was overall cute. There was some steam, but it wasn’t the focal point of the story. I kind of wished it was! But the book was adorable.
Spencer is a single mama to three kids to two different dads. I know. I judge too. But she’s doing the best she can do. Sure the book starts out with her describing her job as a sex therapist and that’s really not the story of the book. I thought it was and because of that I put the book down for a few weeks. It’s about a single mama losing her job and going home to lick her wounds.
Cooper is Spencer’s ex from high school and it a second chance kind of story. What would you do if you could make it again with your first love? What I really enjoyed about the book was that you knew the heart of the story. You knew why Cooper and Spencer broke up and you know that Cooper doesn’t like kids.
I’ll be honest and say I didn’t like Cooper too much. I found him too realistic. He wasn’t that swoon worthy kind of Hero, he was just a regular guy and where there isn’t anything wrong with that, I don’t really care of for it in the book world.
I liked the chemistry and banter between Spencer and Cooper, I did find Spencer a bit bitchy and kind of guarded. At times I wanted her to calm down, but overall, I love my single parent books so much. And it hit the right spot.

3 stars. Pretty good overall, but there were a few things that irritated me.
This would have been a four star book if not for the 15 year separation...which I always, always hate. However, I knew going into this book that it had happened, and I was VERY prepared to overlook it. So why did I still deduct a star, you ask? Well, I cannot stand romance books where the heroine spends YEARS suffering, while the hero has basically lived his best life.
The hero is the one who broke up with the heroine - in a totally moronic way btw. He then acted all butt hurt when she eventually tried to move on with her life. But that's not even what bothered me the most. During their 15 years apart, the hero played the manwhore. He had countless sexual partners, got married and divorced, and lived his life free of any major stress. He "waited" to be with OW until he found out that the heroine got married....BUT LIKE HOW WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT HE WAS WAITING? HE BROKE UP WITH HER FFS!!
Meanwhile, the heroine had ONLY TWO other sexual partners and both got her pregnant. SHE'S A SEX THERAPIST WHO BARELY HAS SEX!!! So, first she had twins and ended up raising them all by herself with minimal help from their father. The third child she had totally on her own - with no help at all from the sperm donor. She literally never even had sex with any man that didn't make her pregnant!!! Every single time she had sex with a man outside of her relationship with the hero, it came with MAJOR consequences. OFC she loved her children, but she lived a VERY difficult life in comparison to the hero. I am sooooo sick of reading about heroines being shafted while the hero has minor consequences for his own moronic actions! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
The other thing that annoyed me (to a much smaller degree) was how much the heroine pushed the hero away. It just became too much for me at one point, even though I felt she was absolutely right to do so in the beginning. Either way, this is a minor complaint.
Overall, this story was pretty enjoyable. I just would have preferred that the backstory was different. I couldn't fully get over how the author ultimately made the heroine yet another pathetic woman who barely moved on with her life after the hero.

Heroine had two other partners and also got married and divorced from the first OM, who is the father to her twins. Second OM causes some minor drama. No OM/OW after they are reunited, no scenes with OM/OW, no cheating.

CRUDE AND NONSENSICAL
OMG, did a grown woman actually write this book? It's absolutely inane, crass, and so adolescent. I've read a lot of romances but this is one of the worst. It ticks all the wrong boxes—it's boring, it isn't funny, the language is way OTT (and that doesn't usually bother me, but this is SO excessive). And the biggest sin of all in a romance—I don't like the characters. They're inconsistent and immature. Thirty-three year old professionals that talk and behave like high schoolers. Come on.
I could go on and on but there isn't enough room here to list everything that is wrong with this story. Don't be fooled by the four and five star reviews. I had to force myself to get through this, only because I never DNF a book, but in this case I wish I had.

The Good, The Bad, and Everything In Between
-A different kind of romance with different kind of heroine and hero. While Ms. Orgeron’s writing is new to me, I’ll admit I had an image of how this book was going to go, especially when the blurb puts an emphasis on Spencer being a sex therapist. When Spencer and Cooper end up moving back to their hometown (hence being the Boomerangers), sparks fly, old feelings are rekindled and loads of old issues are resurrected. There is plenty of humor and touching scenes that sometimes made me cringe and definitely laugh out loud (two words: truffle butter), but I kept turning that page.
-Second chance romance. Cooper and Spencer were two characters that seemed destined, and in an ideal type of romance they would have managed to pine for each other without any other messy entanglements. This is the opposite of ideal and it’s a big part of its charm. Spencer and Cooper have fifteen years of questionable choices to work through in a kind of baby diaper messy way. Yet its flaws are what intrigued me and kept my interest. Spencer’s struggles as a single mom grounded this tale and felt very genuine. The children were a big part of her life and Cooper’s struggle with letting go of the past and embracing those three boys wasn’t always pretty but it felt real. I appreciated that there was no attempt to make this about the sassy heroine and the alpha hero prototypes - instead this was about two genuinely flawed characters just trying to get things right and sometimes getting it hella-wrong.
-A touch of drama-llama-itis. There are some inconsistent actions by both Spencer and Cooper that made me a little nutty and moments that really felt a tad overblown. They each screwed up and made some childish moves. The sex was a bit different as well - there’s some explicit situations, but when it came to the nitty gritty, it was much more fade to black that I expected. Anyway, I can handle some drama though and ultimately, I was able to get past it, even if I wanted to smack them around, just a little.
I actually enjoyed this down to earth, slightly salty romance and the overall theme of love and family is what you make of it. Sometimes things really do happen for a reason. This did NOT travel the road I expected, but I was happy to go on this ride. I would keep an eye out for more from Ms. Orgeron, because she’s definitely piqued my interest.

What a FUNNY book! I love how the story not only involves a romance between two childhood sweethearts but the fact that their families play a HUGE role in the story as well. That includes the Spencer's 3 children, and the parents of both Spencer and Pooper (I mean Cooper). I don't think this book would have functioned well without all of the secondary characters involvement and am so glad Heather included them all within the story. It's the smaller details that always make a difference to me!
That being said, I truly loved this one! Some parts frustrated me (hence the 4 star rating) but overall it's a well rounded and hilarious novel of second chances and learning to trust! Some of my issues included the distaste that Cooper felt towards Spencer's children in the beginning of the book (he simply didn't see himself ever wanting children and was pretty expressive with his feelings on the topic). Thankfully, this "distaste" didn't last long as Cooper was able to pull his head out of his ass and check himself. Another small issue I had was how DIFFICULT Spencer made it for her and Cooper to finally be together even though it was CLEAR how much the two loved each other. I hate when a heroine acts like a dummy and doesn't allow herself to be loved like she deserves and this happened a few times within Boomerangers. These issues aside though Heather M. Orgeron has written one heck of a love story here and I am excited to start in one the next standalone romcom she released last year >> Doppelbanger
PS: My absolute FAVORITE character within this book was Savage (aka Kyle). He is Spence's toddler and stole my heart with his filthy mouth and hilarious ways! That kid deserves a gold medal- I mean he's a 2 year old that got suspended from preschool! HA I was laughing hysterically every time his tiny character made an appearance.

Missed the mark for me
I have wanted to read this book for awhile because it has such great reviews and is described as laugh out loud funny. But it just misses the mark for me. Cooper broke up with Spencer fifteen years ago right out of high school so he could go to college untethered. Spencer moves on and has twins in a quicky marriage that doesn't last as long as childbirth does. Fast forward a few years and an oops pregnancy happens with a FWB relationship and he takes off. Spencer loses her job as a sex therapist and moves back home to her mom's, only to find that Cooper has recently moved back home to help his dad at his law firm, he himself fresh out of a divorce with a woman who wanted kids which he refused to give her. He relentlessly pursues Spencer until a HEA occurs.
Why it missed the mark: Cooper did the breaking up initially and then spends the first half of the book acting like it was a personal insult to him that Spencer moved in with her life. He's disgusted that she had kids with other men when he refused to have that with anyone because they weren't her. The way he describes them as leeches is so off putting.. He quickly comes around and becomes a great support system to her and the kids but I didn't like his beginning.
Spencer is a sex therapist that can't talk about sex using correct body terms or offer clinical discussions with her preteen boys about sex and their bodies. She has nicknames for body parts and tells her kids about a fake disease to scare them off from ever thinking about sex. And as a sex therapist, apparently doesn't know how to prevent pregnancy.
Nether her nor Cooper know how to keep their private life private. I know it's supposed to be funny that her mother walks on them, his dad walks up on a private moment, or the whole town knows about their escapades but it comes off immature, not funny. Her two year old with a potty mouth is supposed to be funny but it isn't. And the two deadbeat dads were cliche and too real to life. The second one bothered me how it was handled. If he decided he made a mistake and genuinely wanted a second chance, the way they handled it made that an impossible choice. I didn't like that. From personal experience, you can not plug and play relationships. Some day that kid will want to know where he came from.
I found the storyline realistic, but I read to avoid reality not be in it. And I really just wanted more mature characters. So as stated at the beginning, this one missed the mark for me.

I have been wrapped up in these characters and have Fallen in love with every single one of them.
Spencer Rose, is an independent woman, a loving single mother of three, all while managing a great career and holding down her fort! She's beautiful, super witty, sassy, fun and maybe even a little naughty. Let's not leave my homegirl (Gina) out of this little introduction!! Gina is Spencer's BFF and she's a complete hoot and total life of the party. These two together are a complete riot!!

There is just something about Heather's style of writing that really pulls me in and consumes me completely! Her characters seem so real and life like and that's all because of her character development, along with her amazing sense for the perfect inner dialogue, add in her fantastic writing skills! MAGIC! **5 Swoon-Worthy Stars**
I have never read this author before and by golly am I missing out.
This book is so much everything. I loved them all. I loved the writing and the way the author drags you in and you just felt everything, from the happiness to the heartbreak and back. The pacing was spot on, and I felt like I was right there with them all. I was invested from the first word until the last. This is again hands down one of the best second chance romances I have ever read. It will make you laugh and cry but mostly laugh and fall in love with the lot of them.
Spencer Rose or Spence as she is called is one of the best female leads I have ever read. She is strong and confident and loves her three boys to the moon and back. She loves her job as a sex therapist/marriage counselor. She does it all on her own as a single mom. So when her boss and the owner of the company she works for closes the doors, because he was stupid, she has no choice but to go home to her mom. She has twin boys Landon and Lake that are twelve and are so different from one another. Lake is a bleeding heart good boy that feels everything and goes with the flow. Landon is fierce and a bit stubborn but loves his mom to bits. Then you have Kyle. Oh by God that little two-year-old boy keeps everyone on their toes, and you can’t help fall in love with him. His brothers nicknamed him Savage for a good reason. Then we can’t forget Gina her BFF. I loved her as well. Now let’s meet Cooper.
Cooper James. Oh, that man. He moved home after he divorced two months prior. He and his ex-wife didn’t want the same things. He is coming back for a fresh start and going to take over the law firm his father owns. Cooper and Spencer have the past. He was her first love and she was his. They never got over one another. Cooper make a fatal mistake and walks away and it forever changes everything. Boy does Spencer make him work for and she should.
I loved the interaction between Cooper and Kyle. Since Kyle can't say Cooper he calls him Pooper. I was laughing and my husband asked me what the heck was going on. This is what I read to him:
“Dis nummy, Pooper,” Savage says with blue syrup dripping from his chin. “Are you actually getting any of that into your mouth?” I ask, wondering how the hell I’m going to get this sticky mess of a kid back into my truck. Maybe snowballs weren’t my greatest idea. “Uh oh...” Kyle’s eyes get big and his forehead creases. I do not like the sound of that uh oh. “What’s wrong?” “I shit myself, Pooper.” I choke, spitting red snowball down the front of my white oxford. “Kyle, you can’t say that word.” “I sowwy...I need a biper shange.” Son of a...I have never changed a diaper in my life. “Please tell me you are joking,” I beg. A shit-eating grin spreads across his blue face. “I for real, Pooper.”
Oh my gosh!! See, you will fall in love. There is an interaction between the twins and their mom that will have you laughing your behind off. I can’t say enough about how much I loved all these people and when Spencer needs Cooper the most, he is there by her side in whichever way she needs him the most. Good God, this man will melt your panties and make you swoon all at once. He is a big teddy bear with a huge heart. There are so many raw emotions between these two. Wherever they are the sparks, heat, lust and everything else you can think of. Everyone and everything else seems to fade into the background when these two get together. Let the shenanigans begin.
Read this book if you want a funny, heartwarming, interfering moms, amazing best friends, a fiercely protective momma with a man that will worship the ground she walks on and love her kids. Put it on your TBR and read it, you won’t be sorry. This is one of those reads that I will revisit when I need a good laugh and want to feel warm and fuzzy all at once. It was one hell of a ride.

When I read the blurb for this book I immediately one-clicked. However, it felt a little shy of my expectations. I expected a bit more maturity from a sex therapist but Spencer came across more like a college-ages girl and less like a 33 year old mother of 3.
The story seemed to be more about making the kids fit into the romance between Spence and Cooper than it was about the two of them building a relationship. Which makes sense considering they both never really fell out of love with each other. Honestly, Kyle was the highlight of this story. That little man had me in stitches throughout.
Overall this was a decent read but I would have enjoyed it more if the adults in the story would have come across more mature and if more time would have been spent with them talking about their past and how to move on into their future.

I kind of read this out of order even though they're both standalones. In Boomerangers we get Spencer and Cooper's story. Once again the humor was there, the kids were hilarious and so were Cooper and Spencer. I really enjoyed this story!

Well, that was hella fun. One of my favorite types of tropes in books are musicians and childhood sweethearts. This is definitely the latter and from the very first page, I was taken away to a story that was funny, romantic, charming, and heartfelt. The two main characters have known each other their whole entire lives. Growing up together in diapers, going through the awkward stages of adolescence, first love, and eventually first heartbreak. This is also a second chance romance, another one of my favorites. I couldn't get enough.
"I don’t want to just fuck you anymore. I want more than this. I want you back. I want us back.”
Spencer is a sex therapist. Much like her small Louisiana hometown, I fed into the cliches of what a sex therapist does. I was charmed to see that she was a hard working independent woman, who just so happens to have three kids. Three adorable and highly entertaining children. When a scandal rocks the clinic she works at, Spencer has no choice but to move back home. It's there that she runs into her first love, and sexy as sin, Cooper. It's almost as if the two were never apart. The chemistry and love that was still there after all these years was beyond palpable.
Cooper is back home and surprised as hell to see the girl he let go so many years ago there and in the flesh. With her three little boys in tow. He'd do anything to try to win her back even if it means accepting children that aren't and we're supposed to be his. Add that onto meddling mothers and baby daddy drama (not his), and you've got yourself one hell of an entertaining read. Cooper is so damn charming and I immediately loved him. I think Spence had a way with him that really brought out what a great man he was.
"She’s like their second mother. I swear, if I could convince myself to become a vagitarian, I’d have married that bitch years ago.”
As readers, I think you'll be happy to know that Boomerangers is full of witty dialogue and scenes hot enough to melt your kindle. I have to give a huge shout out to the secondary characters such as both mothers of Spencer and Cooper; the baby, Kyle; Gina, and the twins. Somehow Heather was able to make me fall in love with all of them and love them just as much as Spence and Cooper.
Anyways, obviously you can tell I adored the story and everything about it. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Orgeron. She has a way of making life not seem too serious — which is exactly what this world needs.
*I'd like to point out that I totally forgive Cooper for being a Saints fan.*

Heather M. Orgeron’s Boomerangers is a hoot! From the beginning of the book till the end, and I mean to the very end, this book has you laughing until you cry. A second chance romance with well crafted characters, Ms. Orgeron has written a truly astounding story that has all the feels as well as the humor.
Spencer and Cooper grew up next door to each other and after going their separate way have returned to their hometown and each others lives. Only Spencer brings a little something extra with her, 3 boys. Cooper doesn’t want kids, so that leads them to a “friends with benefits/no strings” type of arrangement.
However, as both Spencer and Cooper come to realize, that arrangement can only work for so long. Because that sticky little emotion, love, gets in the way. Although they eventually do realize that, the story of how they get to their HEA is sexy, humorous, emotional, and very gratifying.
Reading how Cooper comes to love Spencer AGAIN (STILL?) and how his feelings about kids and his love for Spencer’s boys comes out is heartwarming. His interaction with Kyle is hilarious!
I felt like I could relate to all the characters in this book. Living in the South, I saw traits of people I know IRL in the characters of this book. Some of the traditions like the craw-fish boil, Taco Tuesday, and Saints (Who Dat!) football are things that I’ve participated in. So, in some way, I knew exactly the environment that Ms. Orgeron had written so well.
Ms. Orgeron has definitely put the work in on this book, and it shows. All the characters are well thought out, the story line moves at a “keep you engaged” pace, and well, the book is just too damn funny to put down.

I laughed out loud...a lot!!! I cried because of the emotional overload. Gah...I LOVED SPENCE AND COOP!!! Incredible characters and a second chance love story you won’t ever forget.
They fell in love in high school. She thought it was forever, until he cut her loose and broke her heart. Their living apart was never supposed to be forever.
Life happened and three kids later, Spence is back in her home town. An amazing single mom looking to start over after losing her job as a sex therapist. Small town life doesn’t change much, but she wasn’t ready for Cooper.
Back home to take over the law firm once his father retires, Cooper doesn’t expect Spencer. She aas the ine he let get away. Even a short marriage. Followed by a divorce couldn’t remove her from his heart.
Spence isn’t looking for any strings. She has no problem taking Coop for a ride just like old times, but that’s it. She’s a mom first. Every man in her life has let her and her kids down, she’s not willing to take that kind of risk.
Cooper is willing to take ehst he can get. However, as he sprnds more time with her and the kids, what he’s eilling to setlle for is about to change.
This story is ALL THE FEELS! It’s incredible chemistry and sneaky, hot & dirty sexy times! It’s unconditional love and forgiveness. It’s a hilarious two year old and curious pre-teen boys that will give you endless comic relief. It’s sweet and emotional and I LOVED IT! The author writes with heart and handles the reality of life with humor and levity, but never shys away from emotion. Definitely on my list of favorites.
