Allison Jackson is a decorator, struggling to get her business off the ground and her finances are near to breaking. Her brother's ex is not making things easier by poisoning potential clients. Small town cop, Mitch Woods isn't afraid of anything, except admitting his feelings for Allison. She is independent, beautiful, and his best friend's little sister. He offers to let her renovate his old house and she jumps at the opportunity to give her business a boost. Working closely together, Mitch learns the truth about Allison's financial struggles. With a vindictive and shady ex, Allison's past comes back to haunt her. Suddenly, Mitch's biggest fear is losing the one woman he's always wanted. Allison has relied on others and trusted too much. She was burned and now finds it difficult to open up to anyone, nor admit how much she was hurt by her ex. A great read.

Another great series of Jodi's to get lost in :). Allison has her hands full pretending she's okay in front of her friends, her brother & his best friend Mitch. She's broke and just had her last chance of a job whipped out from under her. She hates to disappoint people, especially her brother Sloan (book 1). Mitch has just decided to renovate his late grandmother's house and needs a decorator. He's also tired of hiding his feelings for Allison in front of her and his best friend. He bites the bullet as these 2 start working on a relationship and puts his feelings out there. Meanwhile, Allison's ex has been sneaking around looking for more money to steal after he stole all of Allison's inheritance. Let's bring in Allison's best friend, Tabith in who at first unintentionally starts figuring things out, then later decides to go all in whether the 2 cops (Sloan & Mitch) along with the ATF agent like it or not. Great, great read. Anxious & hoping Tabitha gets her story next. This is my honest review for a book that was given to me by the author under no obligation. Great job Jodi Vaughn!!

Loved this story, I mean what's not to love. We have a small town cop, Mitch, whose loved his best friends sister for ever, but has always made sure to stay away. He's just inherited a home that needs a lot of renovation and guess who is a decorator? Nikki desperately needs a job before she loses everything. Her ex boyfriend has run off with her money and she's too ashamed to let her friends know, much less ask for help. She finally finds a great job when she's sabotaged by the town nasty girl. Really stressed and feeling defeated she learns that her bothers best friend, whom she's always had a crush on, has a house that needs to be worked on and can save her financially. Sound easy, peasy right? Well you need to get this book to find out if she gets the job, can the two of them finally get together (despite her brothers feelings) and what the heck is her terrible ex up too. The story is filled with hope, humor, a little danger and some passionate romance. I recommend this book to those who love a great contemporary romance
