M & M Mating Agency #3

Protecting a Mate

Rate this book
She hit him with a door, so he stole her heart…
When wereferret Melanie Baxter meets werebear Foster Lawson, every part of her ferret stands up and takes notice. After her ex offers to sleep with her sister, Melanie isn’t inclined to listen to his sweet nothings. Then she meets a bear who smells so good, with the muscles and the ice blue eyes. And… yeah.
He wants to take things slow, his bear doesn’t…
Werebear Foster never imagined himself with a mate. Not when his massive animal is constantly on a hair trigger. He definitely didn’t think he’d end up with a sinfully sweet and curved in all the right places wereferret named Melanie Baxter.
His plans for a slow seduction of his mate are destroyed when a man from her past steps forward and tries to take what’s Foster’s. Not. Happening.

I just finished this and it's another super quick read that's humorous and very entertaining. If you enjoy characters with insane internal monologues than you will lap up the were ferret Melanie. Her character was introduced in the previous book Hunting a Mate when it became very apparent that her boyfriend Harvey was a total piece of work! Now she is single and has taken back control of her life but that no good and hugely overly self opinionated waste of space just refuses to take no for an answer ,
Foster is a were bear with anger issues and to be honest has probably given up on ever finding that special female who should be his. That all changes when a small and curvy female arrives on the construction site he's working on. Now if only she hadn't driven off before he could show her just how good a bear is at devouring honey! Ok track her down is first on his list but finding out he has competition could very well push both man and bear too far!
I love these quirky fun stories that seem to be set around a rather unique dating agency. It's hilarious as such diverse species get paired off and a bear and a ferret just add to the madness and mayhem. Very adult language and sexy shananigans abound in these stories but I thought this one a little too quick and have to warn that it's quite a violent instalment . This couple are such fun but it just seemed to end a little to quickly for this reader. If short sexy reads are your thing then this series might just be what you are looking for.

Short but satisfying

This made for a great quick read. Granted, it didn’t have much depth but I still found it to be enjoyable. The characters were likeable and I'm sure I will check out others in this series.

I LOVED this book and the entire series! While you don't have to read the entire series to get this book, it will help to make things more understandable. Besides they are all short funny stories. I enjoy reading books from Celia as she always makes me laugh at the funny things her characters do.

Like this one - she is trying to move on with her life and when meeting her Mate, she accidentally hits him with her car door. But he is overcome with the Mating Instinct so he is willing to overlook the accident. But Life gets in the way...several timesssssssssssss! How do you ask? I'm not going to spoil all the fun! You will have to download this book to find out all the crazy things our Lovebirds...LoveMammels go through before they can have their HEA.

This is a fun story, a sexy story, and has some unexpected twists to it. I really liked the hero and heroine. When they meet, sparks fly. I think it is better if you have read the story before this one, where the heroine is the sister of this story's heroine.
It would be great as a whole book. There were some things with the hero's bear and the heroine's ex-boyfriend that could be expanded.
I strongly recommend.

Protecting A Mate
By Celia Kyle and Mina Carter
Melanie Baxter is a wereferret who works for Catson Construction. She had recently broken up with her boyfriend because he had offered to “bang” her sister Paige, who was unmated when she went into heat. One of Melanie’s jobs was to run from construction site to site to pick up reports from each foreman that worked for Catson Construction.
Foster Lawson, a werebear is the foreman on one of these sites. Rushing to get the paperwork from one foreman, Mel didn’t see the huge guy next to the car as she opened her car door and hit him in the gut. Foster noticed two things; one, his gut hurt and something smelled good. It had his bear going crazy –his mate. Before they can get to know one another, both are needed elsewhere and Mel leaves. Neither knows the other’s name. Mel rushes to collect all of the paperwork so that she can get back to the office to ask her boss Holt, who the handsome foreman was. When she arrives, she sees her future brother-in-law Archer, go flying out of the office window and onto the hood of her car. Turns out, Foster thought Archer wanted Melanie and didn’t know about Paige. Foster has vowed to always protect Melanie.
Melanie’s ex Harvey keeps bothering her to get back together, even involves Mel’s mother to try to win her back. Even telling both her mother and Harvey that she already has a mate, doesn’t stop Harvey from stalking her. During the night, Mel hears something and finds Harvey in the kitchen. He tries to abduct Melanie to make her his mate. Foster wakes up and sees what is going on and a fight ensues. Harvey is killed in the fight.
This is the next story in the M & M Mating Agency. This is Melanie, a wereferret and Foster, a werebear’s story. Foster never thought he would actually find his mate. Rushing to the office on the construction site he is the foreman of, Foster is nearly literally knocked over by Melanie, his mate. Melanie is being stalked by her ex boyfriend who only wants to marry her for her money and position. After realizing that Melanie is his mate, Foster has vowed to always protect her and does so when Harvey tries to kidnap her. I enjoyed this story. I laughed every time the ferrets would “pop” a whisker whenever they were frightened. I look forward to the next book in this series.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Melanie and Foster. Melanie we meet in Hunting a Mate, in this book she found that her boyfriend was willing to sleep with her sister to get her through her heat. When Holt took exception to that and told her very plainly to leave him that she deserved better she had to agree with that. Now that Melanie she is done with Harvey she really wants to find the one for her just like her sister did. To bad Harvey her ex-boyfriend doesn't want the ex part he is determined to get her back one way or another. She is very new to her new job and doesn't want to screw up so when she is running behind picking up the paperwork she does not notice the guy standing very close to her car. As she opens the door she hit Foster right in the gut. When she realizes she has just hit her mate she is not sure what to do but Foster sure does. To bad time is not on her side.

When Foster gets hit by his mate he can hardly believe it when she takes off before he can really learn anything about her he finds this unacceptable. Can he convince his mate to stay with him let him love her the way she deserves to be loved when all he can do is growl and beat things? Can he keep his mate when he can sometimes speak first think second?

This is another amazing book by these authors. This book will have you laughing one moment, and wanting to wring someones neck the next. This book is amazing it is another short book in this series but packs a punch in a small package. If you have not read Hunting a Mate I would advise that you read that book to have some of the references in this book make sense but it is not a necessity. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Ftastically fnaciously ffunny!!

Ever need a highly entertaining, funny, sexy, short but sweet paranormal romance? Then I encourage you to read Protecting a Mate by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter. Regardless of your shape, size or species, the M&M Mating Agency continues to be THE dating agency to use when in search of a mate. Even relatives of those that work at the agency are finding mates. Melanie Baxter, a wereferret, is having a pretty hectic day running errands for work when she runs into her mate, literally sucker punching him with the door of her car. Foster Lawson, a werebear, never imagined being gut-punched by the mate he’d been dreaming of for years. First with the car door, then again with the fact she was a ferret.

A tiny wereferret and a big werebear are the two most unlikely species you’d expect to mate. However, they are fated mates after all and like any couple, they have a few obstacles to overcome. Foster’s bear has a trigger temper and Melanie has an ex-fiance and the mother from hell that’s in collusion and up to no good. All of these obstacles are easily overcome in a fast paced, hot and steamy f*tastically, f*naciously and f*funnily fashion. This is the 7th installment in the Quick and Furry series. Although this is a standalone, I highly recommend reading the first 6 installments first for maximum enjoyment.

Disclosure: I was given an advanced reader copy from the publisher/author for a review.

I loved this story!! I was very ready for Melanie's story after reading her sister's so I was very excited when this one came out. I loved her character and Foster's. They were great. I was not ready for this story to be over! I wanted more of the two of them! They have great personalities and fit each other well. This story is very quick but it will suck you in from the beginning and not let go until the end. I loved the way that they interacted and you get to see a very quick cameo from some of the other characters in past books. The story is very smooth and well paced. Nothing pulled me out of it or felt "unreal." You can read this as a stand alone and have no problem whatsoever. It is connected and you can probably have a little more enjoyment out of it (just cause you know Melanie from the last story) but you will not really be missing anything if you haven't. Though I really love the story so I would recommend reading them all ;) lol. We are teased at the very end regarding the next story coming and I can't wait!!!! Looking forward to it.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. It was an accident that she hit him with her car door, Melanie was rushing and not paying attention, it happens right? Foster was minding his own business and heading toward his office and didn't notice when Melanie sped in the construction site parking lot, but the door slamming into him got his attention. Melanie is a were-ferret that is on the mend from some recent family drama concerning her mom asking her boyfriend to help her sister, Paige through her heat cycle. She is trying to find herself and get away from her crazy mother and stalker ex. Foster is a were-bear, foreman on the site that Mel has pulled up to. He then becomes an enraged were-bear after Melanie quickly leaves the construction site before they could get to know each other better. There are a couple confrontations with Melanie's mother, her ex, and Foster/Melanie, but no matter what this bear isn't about to back down. I enjoyed this book, I just wish it were longer.

Protecting a Mate is the latest in the Quick & Furry Series by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter. Melanie, a wereferret, just started a job at her brother-in-law’s construction company. In her mind, it is the perfect job. She gets to go to all the jobsites to collect the Forman’s paperwork and ogle all the sweaty hunk of yummy man. At her first stop she meets the man well bear of her dreams. Foster is the foreman on the jobsite. He also happens to be a werebear as he puts it with anger issues. Melanie and Foster are both thrilled and ready to mate. The rest of the world…not so much. Work, an interfering mother and an ex all seem to work against them.

The story is a good evening read. It is just the right length to get to know Melanie and Foster without feeling rushed. The story will make you laugh and cheer at times. The story also leaves you wanting to know more about them and how they solve one small problem. I love the unusual matches and how well they work. Mostly, I love a story with a happy ending.

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Way way way too short. I needed MORE of Foster and his inner bear.

"Not properly acquainted, but dammit all to hell, he hadn’t even gotten to taste her lips.
The ones on her face, he told his bear sharply when it sniggered suggestively. He didn’t know what gods he’d pissed off in a previous life, but in this one he’d been saddled with a bloody pervert of an inner bear.”

There was just so much that could have been expanded on considering our grumpy bear and the Melanie/Harvey stalking. Just because I know these are short stories doesn't mean occasionally when I find one I really like (like this one) that I'm not left infuriated because it wasn't turned into novel length. It was great for what it was meant to be but it left me with some unanswered questions as to Harvey's motivations. It was nice to see Paige and Melanie's mother get put in her place.

Short read but worth it.

In the previous book, our heroine had her eyes opened to the manipulation of a parent thru negative reinforcement & guilt trips. Having finally seen it in action to her sister.

In this book, the heroine shows us how strong the love of a sister and self belief really is.

Then there is our hero.. yum.. growly yum?!! very protective growly yum.

Ok, our hero is knocked for a six when he meets our heroine, thinking his time will never come. With the heroines mother who I would just love to introduce my left foot to the right side of her face... and lets not mention the ex.. just reading about the self centeredness of him, yup pass my gun!!

Altho it was a short read, I really enjoyed it. Am really looking forward to the day that the male co-owner of M&M meets his match.. fun times ahead.
Thank you Celia, please keep doing what your doing.

Protecting his mate was a short yet amazing read. I expect nothing less from such an imaginative and compelling author. I have been waiting to hear Melanie's story since she came into the picture in Paige and Archers story. The way Melanie met her mate is both comical and sweetly romantic. Talk about love slamming into you that statement couldn't be more accurate for Foster. Melanie and Foster come together and no words are needed for them to recognize each other. Which in hindsight is good because they were both rendered to incoherent sentences. Melanie's irritating stuck up ex tries to unsuccessfully get her back and much to the readers delight finally gets what he deserves. This is a very short read but it is attention grabbing and worth checking out. If you haven't the other books in this series I highly recommend you do they are all good books.

This is a really quick, fun, humorous and entertaining sexy PNR. The characters were funny (especially were-ferret Melanie and her internal dialogues).

Melanie has broken up with her boyfriend and is ready to take back control of her life. She meets Foster a were-bear at a construction site and the two instantly realize they are mates. Just the concept of a were-ferret and a were-bear cracked me up. Foster has anger management issues and when his mate drives off before he can make her his he looses no time in tracking her down. Now he just has to deal with her creepy ex-boyfriend and her mother who wants her back with the ex.

This book was a fun, easy read. It's quick, funny and sexy and has some violence in it. If you're looking for something you can finish quickly that will leave a smile on your face this is a good book. I just wish it had been a bit longer.

Deliciously smexy and snarky as always

We met Melanie in th least book, she isn't as awful as her mother and other sister. I would say she still has growing to do, cause she has a few leftover thought processes from her old life. Given abit of time, that will change. Foster is her oh so yummy mate. I adore the way this author writes bears. They are my favorite shifters and she really knows how to make they delicious!

The story here kind of wanders, but it is a delightful ramble. There was one moment at the end that was a little much.

The smexy was uber hawt as expected. Panty drenching kind of read!!

I can not wait for the next read and the hint at the very end has me all a twitter with anticipation. Gimme gimme gimme!!

I am not sure what to say.
I loved the book.
This time the pairing was a Were-Ferret w/ a Were-Bear.
I can't wait to see what is the next pairing.

Wham: Found My Mate

Melanie slams her car door open - right into the stomach of an unknown man that smelled so good. Foster could barely catch his breath but he sure could smell the sweet smell who'd hit him with her car door. Man what a way to meet one's mate. Melanie was in such a rush to pick up papers she never had time to get Foster number of he her's.

I've read more thrilling stories scribbled on bus stop benches. Literally, the girl meets the guy, they both know they're meant to be together, they go back to his house, a bad guy shows up for five minutes, he's killed, the end. If you've ever wondered how to write a story with no introduction, no setup, no plot nor character development, no climax and no ending, here you go!

Good

This story was definitely filled with non-stop action. Violence is a given with a shifter book. I enjoyed it very much.
