Blackfriar Apartments. Skullduggery Afoot. Not Blackmail this time. As usual, some of the residents and visitors to The Blackfriar Apartment Building were not what they seem to be... New tenant Stanley Blume wasn’t the stuffy accountant he presented himself to be. He’d left Las Vegas in a hurry for a very good reason and he needed lots of money – fast. Green wasn’t just the color of money, Going Green could bring Stanley cold, hard, cash. Jerome and Jeff were dating the girls in Apartment 4, and they weren’t simply linemen for Sonoma Clean Energy. They had a secret mandate and Mr. Blume’s activities interested them a great deal. And then there was Robert Pelosi. He wasn’t a man to cross. More and more, Police Chief Ian McFarland was wondering about the veracity of those rumors Tatiana Zhukov had started. If you like your mysteries set in a small town with continuing characters, and some new ones, interesting plots and well-paced action, you’re going to love Going Green, M’Lissa Moorecroft’s ninth book in The Blackfriar Cozy Mysteries. Not so cozy all the time... Go to the Buy Button and find out what shenanigans the people of Black Rock are up to this time!
Another great novel by this author. As part of the mystery series, this takes place in the town of Black Rock. And again the source of trouble is in the Blackfriar Apartments, but most of the story takes place elsewhere.
As the title of the book might suggest, there is mischief involving green energy. Somebody is stealing solar panels and wind turbines, and two fellows come to town to investigate and solve this mystery. Of course there are other goings on in the story. Two sisters are reunited when one of them is let out of prison after being convicted of killing her husband in apparently self-defence. And these young women are rich, but you wouldn't know it by their lifestyle. Anyway that's another whole story which spices things up.
I don't want to spoil the story by telling too much other than the young sisters hit it off with the two investigators who have come to town, and their investigation uncovers multiple bad guys. It's very interesting how everything ties together, another characteristic of this author's writing.
M’Lissa Moorecroft has created another winner in her Blackfriar Mysteries with Going Green! Our old friends from previous books, along with newcomer to the apartments, Stanley Blume, Gina and her half-sister, Gloria, new hunks, Jeremy and Jeff, take going green to much greater heights! Come along as Robert and Estella decide which direction their new found attraction will go…does she trust him, does he trust her? Is this a love match or a dud match? When new blackmail threats loom for the residents of the apartments, find out who’s behind the threats and who is encouraged to join in the fun/mayhem? Each book stands on its own, but you’ll want to read them in order to know how each character fits into the entire picture! I can’t wait to read the next book, and the next and the next…
