The heroic elf rogue Merisiel finds herself among the greatest villains of the Worldscape, so why do they consider her an old friend? In the court of Empress Camilla, Merisiel must do what it takes to survive the treachery of the arch-wizard Kulan Gath while fending off courtly intrigue, deceit, and death as the war for the Worldscape wages on! Co-starring John Carter, Red Sonja, Fantomah, and more! Written by Pathfinder publisher Erik Mona ( Hollow Mountain), with art from Jonathan Lau (Red Sonja and Cub). Contains a Pathfinder RPG rules appendix and a bonus pull-out poster map!
I suspect Merisel is a known character from the Pathfinder game setting which I don't know anything about, but this issue gave me an extremely skilled female elven thief engaging in morally dubious thievery alongside bad guys to get back to her homeworld whilst being slashed with a black sky pirate from Barsoom. That's very cool, and not what I expected from a D&D comic going in. Between this and Gail Simone's recent Swords of Sorrow, Dynamite is impressing me.
Another issue in the Pathfinder Worldscape series. This issue focuses on Meriseil the thief. Good story; I accidentally read this issue out of order. This issue gives stats for Thunda, a Tarzan-like hero created by Frank Frazetta.
