Lady Anne Lindsey lost a bet. Oh... how she wishes it were of the monetary variety. Instead, she has to do a favor that will take her far from London, out in the country, and into the house of a man she loathes just as much as she is desperately attracted to him. Guy's the first man who'd been able to banish the darkness that haunts her, but she knows that a rogue can't be trusted.
Guy Elkin is the new Viscount of Yapperts.
He has a desire: To transform the tired looking country house into something just as breathtaking as his clubs back in London, and he knows just the woman to recruit for help.
Lady Anne Lindsey.
He has plans for beautiful Lady Lindsey that go beyond picking curtains and couches, and is sure he'll have her bedded in weeks...But what Guy didn't know was he'd also have her wedded!
When a slip of the tongue finds these two facing the priest, it'll take more than attraction for them to find their happily ever after. And can Anne truly escape the dark secret that follows her?
The Gentleman's Game of Love by Eleanor Meyers is yet another superbly written Clean Regency Historical Romance. Ms. Meyers has a way of bringing both the characters and the story to life through the pages of her stories. The characters are well developed, realistic and entertaining. The storyline is intriguing and utterly fascinating.
A charming clean Historical Romance that has it all, intrigue, passion with no actual sexual scenes, a wager, an unexpected marriage, a unique hero and a heroine with a dark secret. And of course, the love that follows. But will they find their HEA? All Meyer's stories can be read as stand alones, however, I'd recommend reading this mesmerizing series, in its entirety.
Another not to miss read by Eleanor Meyers! If you enjoy clean romance. Regency Romance, intrigue, adventure and great storytelling, than "The Gentleman's Game of Love", is a great choice. Another refreshing tale by Eleanor Meyers!
There are three mysteries about this book. How did it ever get published. How did anyone finish reading it and how did 88 percent of 122 people give it a,five star rating.
The language is so cloyingly sweet it made me gag. Example " They were heaven to look at and surrounded by a bed of dark lashes that most women would give their first born child to own." This is a description of the hero's eyes. It just gets worse from here. The plot is not believable. Reading this stuff gave me the same feeling as a chalk scratching on a blackboard.
As mentioned by others the book is padded with empty pages between chapters and large font and double spacing.
The only redeeming fact is that it only cost .99. Don't waste your time.
I really enjoy these books. They do follow the usual Regency romance pattern, but there's always a twist, and it's a twist that I never see coming. Good dialog, well-developed characters, and not the usual story line. Brain candy at it's best!
"Is it because you haven't had sex in months?" This was, for me, last straw. London, 1827, a woman and man have just spent the night together, in the same room. Both are quite unconcerned, and he has just kissed her in front of a dining room full of people. The language to this point, not to mention the situations, have been decidedly contemporary. Now, our h pipes up with a question like that. To a man, in the dining room, still full of people. I've had enough. If you don't want to write an actual historical romance, why pretend? Why not just write it contemporary? If you have either done no research at all as to the customs of the times, or you choose to write in contempory terms, just write a contemporary story. It would make so much more sense. Incredibly inaccurate, incredibly frustrating, and an insult to those of us who love actual regency romances. I would not recommend this one if you are a fan of historic regency romances.

My Thoughts:
I have enjoyed each one of the titles I have read of this series. It is a pleasure to read well written romance without the constant sexual scenes.
Although I do read and review books that are essentially heated it is a nice break to read a book that reminds me of romance novels I read more than twenty years ago. This is a passionate read without all of the vulgarity and the beautiful cover art for this book certainly draws the potential buyer to it.
The characters in this book are well developed and the storyline is very believable. This author's books would prove to the masses that it isn't necessary to use profanity and vulgarity to write a good book.
I gave this book 4.25 stars of 5 for storyline and characterization and 2 of 5 flames for heat.
Our hero and heroine do have a feisty relationship and there are moments that hint at passion but no actual sexual scenes
Thank you again Ms. Meyers for writing very good sweet/clean regency romance.
It seems each new book in the Wardington series just keeps getting better. I loved Guy & Ann's story. Guy and Nelson from A Gentleman's Game are my two favorite characters from the series. They are good friends as well as business partners and unconventional Regency heros. Eleanor Meyers has accomplished another great love story with all the mystery surrounding Lady Ann's sorrowful history. I loved her relationship with her beloved brother, Colin. Her steadfast ability to deny any attraction to the "rogue" Guy. Their surprise wedding was both delightful and funny and led to a charming story of intrigue and redemption. I was so delighted with Guy and Ann that I couldn't put the book down. I'm already looking forward to the next installment of the Wardinton Park series. I read this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest and balanced review as my own opinion.
This Historical Regency romance is A Wardington Park book about the Elkin brothers. I love the writing of Eleanor Meyers because it's clean with no vulgar language. The characters from previous books of the series tend to show up in the storyline giving it a continuation of the family and friends. I highly recommend this book, I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The Gentleman's Game of Love (Watdington Park Book 6)
The love story of Guy and Ann. It's been two year since Ann and her brother have been return to their rightful position, now she is a lady and her brother is a lord. Guy run the Elk Gentleman's club and now Ann and him run the Concord the newsies club in London. Ann made a bet with Guy that he would not became a viscount. He did and now she has to help rebuilt his estate. His brother tell their mother that he is marry to Ann and now she want them yo remarry for her. Can he marry her for real or will they tell his mother the truth? Great story.
Lady Anne and Lord Yapperts were rival's that challenged one another in the most interesting topics. When they finally admitted how they felt about one another, I was very happy. I could feel the emotions they were dealing with leap off the page before they even admitted the depth of there feelings. I really enjoyed this story. Thanks Eleanor. I want me a Guy.. he sounds so engaging!
Rebecca Hagan Lee did a marvelous job of taking the detestable and arrogant Guy Elkin and showing us readers the real man behind his reputation. Anne finds him annoying, but has the opportunity to see a different side of him and the fun begins when she decides she will marry him. This book is a wonderful addition to the five star Wardington Park series and a must read.
This series becomes better and better with each book, as the stories grow long and characters with more background fall in love. Anne and Guy were simply wonderfully portrayed, from the struggles of their past to the brightness of their present and all the sacrifices they both made for their families
Loved it ! I enjoy reading her stories and ringing a character pop up from a previous story. Its like watching a good TV series and looking forward to next weeks show
Meh. Not the worst book I've ever read, but not that great either. If you're looking for a quick, mildly entertaining read and come across this book, go ahead and give it a whirl, but I wouldn't pay money for it or anything. I found both the plot and the characters lacking.
I was actually really looking forward to this story. But I was a little disappointed. Lady Anne Lindsey was born a lady but then it was robbed from her from her own family. But she resorted to her position a few books ago. So, I was very interested in whom she falls in love with and how it happens.
This wasn’t the worse book that I’ve ever read but it wasn’t that great either. I thought that it was just meh! There wasn’t anything amazing to write home about. It was a mildly entertaining read, it was a quick read without much extra to it. I didn’t think that there was enough to the characters back story, yes, we’ve seen them before but there wasn’t a lot known about each of the main characters. I was looking for a little more information really. All in all, I had found that both plot and character was lacking.
Gentleman's Game of Love by Eleanor Meyers is sweet and addictive introduction of the Elkin brothers. Each man thinks he can stay clear of losing his heart. But then fate brings them each one woman who steals their hearts and sending them falling apart. Inside this novel, it focuses on one particular brother. Guy Elkin has successfully established two businesses. One is an exclusive club and the other is one set for men with ladies of the night. However, Guy has created anger in his mother for that and his destruction is surrounded by one woman...Lady Anne.
Lady Anne makes Guy feel so alive. Her blue eyes, shinning hair, and fiery soul has captured him whole. He doesn't want any other woman but her. Anne fights her passion and desire for Guy Elkin every day...but he soon grinds her down...
A carriage disaster happens, and Guy Elkin let's slip a lie about him and Lady Anne. But then his family finds out the lie...and both are going to set his family straight on the truth. However, once Lady Anne meets his family she can't ignore what she feels and hopes by going along with the lie...that Guy would want her as much as she does him.
Lies and secrets are still kept between them...
Their desire burns hotter with every page.
It is only time, if they both accept their love and move forward or destroy what they have together...
The Gentleman's Game of Love by Eleanor Meyers is an outstanding novel. I enjoyed the charcaters' dilemmas, banter, and romance. Adventure, humor, and an unforgettable journey is waiting inside...I was hooked. Overall, I highly recommend it to all.
Historical Christian Fiction. 1850's London Society Romance novel that is clean. I read the whole series that was out by February 2017 during February 2017. I love the way the author introduced characters and the peripheral characters from the previous book become the main characters of the next. These are just fun, easy reads that all have different nuances to their stories.
Book Order: 1. To Love a Lord of London 2. The Regards of a Rogue 3. Gaining the Gentleman 4. The Skills of a Scoundrel 5. A Gentleman's Game 6. The Gentleman's Game of Love 7. The Gentleman's Law on Love
I really like this author and this series. There are a few editing mistakes, but nothing major. The book is clean, but with descriptive kissing scenes. I hope the author doesn't go any father in future books or I'm going to have to be done with her. All of the storylines in this series are different and entertaining, so are the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes regency romances.
I can't decide if I really liked this book or not. It certainly doesn't fit the normal definition of "Clean Romance." I don't even know how to organize my thoughts for a review. I finished it so it wasn't all terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it so it wasn't that great.
This was truly a GREAT story. I liked how GUY became a lord (they really do to thru family to find an heir). But I really enjoyed Anne and how she fought her attraction to him. Looking forward to NEIL 's story. Thanks for the stories!
Guy owns The Elk and The Concord. Lady Anne is a patroness of said club. Guy has just become a part of the Ton and because of that, Lady Anne owes him a favor. You see, you never in her wildest dreams thought they'd make him a Lord. NEVER bet against a professional gambler, or one who makes his money from gambling. Guy won! Guy gets by on his wits and his fists. He's an Adonis, a Greek God statue walking around London. Anne is fighting back, but she's not sure what she's fighting. He knows what he wants, Anne, but what is he going to do with her? That is the question. Anne isn't sure what she wants. It sure enough is NOT Guy, but those eyes, that mouth, that finely chiseled body. Wait, what the devil is wrong with her? What is she thinking? And so the tug of war, the push and shove, is on. There are some twists, some turns, a few...you did not just do that! Enough differences more than just the usual male/female shenanigans to keep things very interesting. If I could, I'd ask for my very own Guy for Valentine's Day, since that's the next holiday where you get presents. I'd take him for my Sweetheart, any day of the week. Get your copy now and see if you don't agree. Enjoy a steamy romp with a hunk of a real live no holds barred man. I envy Anne.
This book is a delightful addition to the Warrington Park world. As with all books in this series, this story is a stand alone novel. The characters are fleshed out and believable and the descriptions and action are lush with description. The reader feels as if they were actually there in the regency period. History is accurate, both to the fictional world of Wardington Park and to actual history.
The love story is grand and different. The hero and heroine have not always lived as darlings of the peerage. They both had to labor to achieve their success. There are the usual misunderstandings. However, once they learn to communicate with each other, all is forgiven.
Other members of Wardington Park move through the story, enticing the reader to seek another book in the series and learn their tale. Dialogue is written well. Descriptions of the hero and heroine's interactions are titillating and suggestive without spelling everything out. The reader is a party to a very physical and intimate romance without spelling out every detail. The description draws the reader with it while closing the curtain to the lovers more private moments.
If you want to take a most relaxing trip to visit a pair of likely lovers, then this is the book for you. I guarantee you'll have a wonderful visit!
