Starting Over
Josie had lost so much. Almost more than she could bear. Little Rose, her niece, brightened her days but the child's presence in her life also marked some of the loss. She knew they needed a fresh start. But what about her father? The shell of a man who almost never spent any time with them because he was always working would be alone if she left him behind. Harrison Tanner wasn't the typical Montana ranch owner. He wasn't insensitive or callous. In fact, he longed for a wife and a houseful of children. He wanted companionship and he wanted love. He wasn't too macho to admit any of that. He was truly a nice man. He was eager to meet Josie and Rose and accepting of her father, Ross, when it was determined that he and Josie would marry.
From the beginning, Josie and Harrison seemed like a perfect match. As individuals, they were happier than they'd ever been. It all seemed too good to be true to Josie. And for Harrison, too.
How could everything go so bad so quickly? Harrison was tolerating more than his share of growing pains and Josie felt very guilty. Was there a way to make this blended family work? Or would Josie be forced to take her niece and her father and go back to New York?

I won't be starting this book over
I loved reading about the connection between Josie and Harrison. It seemed believable and tender. Their deeper love at first sight was so sweet!
I showed reading about Josie's optimism in the face of trials. It was encouraging.
However, I felt that Ross's behavior upon arriving in Montana while it was explained, it wasn't resolved. I was left hanging. Hoping for a happy resolution, but don't get anything.
The trip that Harrison and Josie take prior to marriage seemed a bit far fetched too. I mean, where did they sleep on this journey? Did they have adequate chaperones to preserve her reputation? Those questions were never addressed, so we just have more unknowns.
On a steaminess level I would rate this a pleasant G. Because of the moment of violence, overall it's a high PG.
I don't think I'll be rereading this one. Not a repeat read.

An Interesting Interaction Between the Characters in This Book!
Josie was present when her sister-in-law had a breach birth. Unfortunately the mother did not survive. Josie took over care for the baby, Rose. Josie's brother showed little interest in his daughter. He was grieving the loss of his wife. He went out one night and was killed by two muggers.
How will this turn out? Read this book to see if we have a happily ever after ending.

A Worthwhile Clean Western Romantic tale!
This is a well written and interesting book about families, loss and taking risks to find True Love. It's a very sweet, uplifting read with Christian values and service to others.

Finding love after so much tragedy in life is so sweet.
A great little read for when you want to read something quick. Characters are easy to like and the storyline is sweet and easy to feel like your there in Montana with them. Would recommend to all who like the Western genre.

A "Too" book
Too over-the-top in story development.
The romance was too easy
The father's actions were too much for a mill manager to pull in the first place.
Too many minor errors.
Not too enjoyable a read. At least for me.

Sweet, truthful and wonderful
While this is a sweet story it does not hide from the tough part of life, grief. It truly is a story of grief as much as it is a story of true love. The kind of love that conquers all. The is a page turned that you will read in one sitting.

Too short and simplistic with characters that feel like cardboard puppets. They're flat and the author pulls their strings. I need characters who come alive and demand their stories be told.

Josie's story
What a page turner! I was hooked from the first. Read it clean through to the end. Great plot and solid characters with plot twists that kept me reading.
