Blood is spilled in this gothic tale of erotic darkness and supernatural intrigue...The Church of Magoraka prepares for an attack by the vampire Kazuma, who is coming to take their princess Kikuri away. As the church's guru, Kusumi, senses the end is near, he frantically tries to fend off Kazuma. Meanwhile, Kikuri awakens from her mystically induced stupor, temporarily disoriented. Still shaken by her experiences and unable to spend any amount of time alone, she sees Yusuke...as her savior!
A lot more coherant than the last volume! We're still in flashback mode looking at how both Hiragi and her brother Hikage became vampires. This one also looks at the relationship between Yusuke/Kikuri and how two best friends Yusuke & Hikage become bitter enemies.
The story is still really confusing and I found myself asking, who was that again? and having to frequently refer back to the character bios. The action sequences are great, but you do get chunks with minimal or no dialogue at all, which doesn't help with the confusion. I think this is a series that merits reading more than once.
The artwork is really clean, yet beautifully detailed and the vampire looks great.
