Son of Rain #4

Living with Embers

Rate this book
Love can be a river of memories.
Sometimes it can’t find a way.
What happens when the water runs dry?

After all they’ve fought for, Clay Jacobs and Evie Meyers are finally able to find peace and a joy they never expected to experience. There is only one problem—the changes they’ve helped initiate in the Rain are under threat.
In order to protect the new order, and his family, Clay must take one final mission.

When things go wrong, Clay must trust his instincts. They are all he has left to guide him as he’s sent on a hunt for the creature responsible—a stunning redhead who beckons him with some kind of spell.

Will he recognize the phoenix in time to save her life, or will their love end in tragedy as prophesized?

Ms Irwin wrote this series as a companion series so you get both POVs of the two main protagonists and it is done in a way that as you read both series ( starting with Through the Fire then reading book 1 Besieged by Rain in this series, the series leads from each POV and the story evolves. I do reccomend that you read the series in this way, and you will find the book easily via Ms Irwin's website or pages on retailers sites.

Clay is a hunter son of an Elite family in a secret organization intent on neutralizing the threat nonhumans pose, but when Clay comes across Evie he feels more than the compulsion to eliminate the potential threat and he lets her escape and so begins his future.

This final book, in particular, focuses on living with the consequences for Evie and Clay. I can't add more as I do not want to spoil the book for you. But Ms Irwin sure has delved deep into how hard our past affects our present and future, I thoroughly enjoyed reading how Evie and Clay find each other again.

I certainly recommend both these companion series to anyone who loves paranormal romance books.

Always fun reading from Clays POV, especially with what happens with his memory.

This is the last book in the Son of Rain series and tells the final story of Evie & Clay from Clay's point of view. This completes both companion series "Son of Rain" and "Daughter of Fire" so that either series can be read alone or together. Michelle Irwin holds true to the entire series in this book and it helps the reader understand what occurred from another point of view. She also wrote about love conquering all and that no matter what life throws at you if you work hard at something and truly believe then the outcome might be what you wish for.

If love is a river of memories, what happens when the water runs dry?

Yesss!!!!

Finally a big payout after investing so much in these characters in this series. The trials and tribulations that Clay and Evie had to endure just to be together were so insane. I couldn't believe after all they go through an unexpected turn in this book that had me on pins and needles had me questioning til the very end.
