One look from Jax Stade promises to land even the nicest girl onto the naughty list.
Jax and I used to be best friends right up until he broke my heart. Everyone knows that both Jax and his overinflated ego are well beyond naughty—that face, those eyes, don’t get me started on that body made of steel. Every last part of me is bent on revenge. I’ll make sure payback is hell for Jax. I just hope I don’t end up getting my heart crushed by him twice in one lifetime.
Jax and I were inseparable growing up—since then our careers buffered us, but our mothers are still very much best friends. They’ve spent their whole lives trying to push us together—not to mention humiliating us by way of popping up at dances and doing the Macarena, showing up at football games wearing little more than curlers and bathrobes. Mortifying us to their own delight was their specialty. That might be ancient history, but we still bear the scars. So, when I pop back into town, Jax and I devise a scheme of our own to prank the pranksters. We’ll pretend we’re the real deal, right up until the day of our mothers’ shared big birthday bash, and then we’ll pull the pin on this faux-couples grenade.
Not only will we get even with our meddlesome mothers, but I’ll get to exact a little revenge on the boy who split my heart in two. Yes, I will most certainly get even—and just maybe a little bit naughty.
With Jax Stade around, naughty is inevitable.

What was a point in a supposedly strong and sassy heroine if she was drooling over the manwhore hero?
One of the most disgusting colorful descriptions of manwhoring past of the hero.
My e-reader was almost literally dripping STDs...
And the h knew some girls the H slept with. What was a point in making jokes about his d*ck to fall off because he screwed many many OWs and then to want to give him a bj?!
It's like to lick the floor in the public toilet... Eww...
What a sick joke it was to pretend to date to annoy their mothers?
I'm outta here!

I was PO'd the entire time I was reading this book. The main female character, Poppy, was incredibly poorly scripted. But if you like passive-aggressive, juvenile behavior you might like her. Manwhore childhood best friend and the subject of all her unrequited love, billionaire Jaxson, has bedded every woman in town, some of whom we meet. Poppy's constant references to his potential STD's are particularly, uh, romantic (not). Even the sex scenes were tepid. Or maybe they were tepid because there wasn't an ounce of honest interaction and the entire set-up was beyond distasteful for a couple of, uh, successful(?) adults.
I kept reading to see the prank realized. And then it just kept going and going and going. Maybe the author felt that by the third stab at an ending the reader might finally like - or at least tolerate - Poppy and Jaxson.
What a couple of cowards.
Book source: Amazon Freebie. Book ends at 65%. I passed on the tack-on.
My favorite scene has to be when Poppy's mother catches her and Jax getting frisky and the reaction she has, “it’s okay, honey!” she bleats from the other side of the door. “I won’t tell your father! He’s fast asleep. He doesn’t need to know a thing! You just keep up with whatever it is you kids were doing! Have a good time! I’ll make sure to have a pancake breakfast for the two of you come morning! I know blueberries are your favorite, Jaxson!” Jax gives off sexy warnings, “I’m going to start off slow, but consider this a warning. Things are about to get rough and rowdy real quick.” His finger drips down my chest achingly slow. “I’ve been greedy to have you for so long.” I enjoyed this book, I loved all the new characters and hope the others get stories as well.
Jaxson Stade is a God and when Poppy comes back to town, she realizes he is he exact thing she has missed the most! What turns out to be the ultimate prank on their mothers, Jax and Poppy agree to fake a relationship as payback for all the childhood embarrassment their mothers put them through. But in the end... who's really pranked? Their unfaltering love shines through, a love that has been there from the very beginning and will last until the end of time!

This book was awesome. Jax and Poppy's story is a must read. Addison Moore has done it again you get sucked into the book from page 1. This story is hot, sexy, and keeps you wanting more.
This was a really great book. Love the story line and there are some laugh out loud moments that are great. Will definitely check out other books from this author.
This book was as sexy and as steamy as the cover is. One look at this cover and I wanted to jump into bed with Jax! I absolutely love how the story unfolds... Two friends who grew up together, torn apart by feelings they never wanted to admit to the other, and then only to be brought back together to reveal their undying love to one another. Throughout the book, you get to read from Jax's and Poppy's point of view. I don't always care for this style of writing, but I really liked how Addison Moore portrayed both characters and made you fall in love with the both of them. After reading 50% of the book, I just wanted to shake both Jax and Poppy for being so stubborn and not telling each other how they really felt about the other. First it was in Middle school, then High School, and then once again for their parents 50th birthday party. Stubborn should be both their middle names as it took way too long for the other to admit. I feel there have been people in this situation where parents try to force their friends children together, but I don't think it always turns out this way due to the children rebelling. This was a great book and I would recommend this to anyone who has had a fantasy or dream about being with their best friend. We all know it those dreams or fantasies happen at one point or another.
Naughty by Nature is one of those books that fully live up to their title and you don't see that too often. It starts off with Poppy Montgomery, the ever challenging strong, independent woman with a fashion sense to die for coming from her home of L.A. to her home town Oak Grove. Oak Grove is her past hence why she scurried off to California the first chance she got. When she hops in for a birthday party with her mom and Deb, who we learn is Jax's mom, she meets the guy who stole her heart so long ago.
Jaxson Stade, the Man of Steel, is head and owner of Stade Steel, Denver's most successful steel manufacturer with cooperate settled in the heart of Oak Grove. Jaxson has what every girl is after money, looks, and ego, but he wants only one girl who wants none of that. She wants his heart, the one Poppy has always had. Poppy and Jax were best friends right up until things went haywire on the unfortunate night of their high school graduation.
A couple of devious plans, some mishaps and revelations of monumental proportions later, everyone's true self and true feelings are revealed. Suddenly the biggest joke they tried to pull off leads to dark places, but is that really it for two so perfect together? Nope, nothing is as it seems in Oak Grove. With those two secretly determined for a future to work, nothing is impossible. Love wins. A book with passion and hilarity oozing off ofevery page will land you in a place where you can't leave seem to leave Oak Grove's drama.
This might be Addison Moore's best yet!! I LOVED this story!! It has everything!! Comedic one liners that Addison has perfected! It has sadness. It has love. It has hope. These two Poppy and Jax might just be my favourite couple. They've been friends since birth. Their mothers are best friends and have been wanting the two of them together as a couple since their birth. They even have a picture of them holding hands at the hospital when Poppy was born. But something goes wrong after graduation and Poppy leaves for LA to start her designing career. Their mothers are planning a big birthday bash and Poppy knows she can't avoid Jax forever. The moms have a nasty habit of playing pranks on the two throughout their childhoods so they finally call a truce to pull one over on their mothers to get them back for all the embarrassing times their mothers have embarrassed them. They decide on the ultimate prank. They are going to pretend that they've fallen for each other just like the moms have always wanted and that they are finally a couple. The thing is who is pranking who!!?? This is a funny super sexy book that all should read. Love this author!!
I started this book in the middle of the night and quickly read 24%. It was funny, raunchy, and steamy. I really liked the idea of childhood best friends finding their way back to each other after a falling out and years apart.
Jaxson and Poppy had really hot chemistry. Since the story was told from both points of view, there really weren't very many guessing games on how they felt or why. What did confuse me was how it was they were so into each other and were vocal about it but hesitant to take it to the next step.
Another thing about this story that threw me off a little was how even though I powered through this book, I felt a little disconnected from the humor. I don't know why because I've enjoyed similar humor in the past.
I've got to say though, as much as I liked Jaxson and Poppy, they had wonderful family and I wouldn't mind reading more featuring Sadie, Poppy's best friend or about Connor, Poppy's brother. Even though Jules wasn't very nice, I wouldn't mind reading about her finding her happy ever after either.
There are some stories that grab your heart like a vice and this was one of them. So many years go by of Poppy avoiding her home and family to avoid the one person she will always love. Jaxson runs an incredibly lucrative company and may go through girls to pass the time but his heart has always been with Poppy. Their mother's have interfered from day one, meddling in every aspect of their life ! From publicly humiliating them to planning their wedding in their teenage years . Poppy and Jaxson meet up again for a grand bash for their moms birthdays . They have the ultimate hoax planned but the joke is on them. Wild and intense feelings are brought back and their hearts are shattered. When Jax makes up his mind he's off to get his girl but will she be forgiving? Addison Moore is an immensely talented author that I have truly loved and thoroughly enjoyed all of her work! Naughty by Nature is a must read ! Get your heart ready to swell with devotion for this book!!
Jaxson and Poppy grew up together best friends, with intervening mothers sure they were destined for one another. They grew apart in high school, and were forced back together for their mischievous mothers (who just happen to be best friends) 60th birthday party. Poppy's sister comes up with a plan to payback their mom's humiliating hijinx, but it involves being in love with the man she's sworn off.
The storyline seems pretty obvious as your reading, but it's so much fun. There are some surprises that pop up along the way which kept me flipping pages. There were sometimes where I wanted to smack some sense into Poppy or Jaxson. One of those, tell eachother how you really feel and all the heartache would disappear - but I guess that makes for a short book! Hilarious quips and one liners abound. Ridiculous situations will make you laugh out loud. The perfect blend sexy and funny.
This was ok, I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either, there was bits I enjoyed more than others, namely the mums, they were brilliant, what I didn't enjoy was that this felt overdone, the heroine threw out way way to many one liners for it to be funny for me, it was just too much, I didn't connect with the hero and heroine as much as I would have liked too, but again I didn't dislike this book, I decided to go with 4 stars because I still feel it's a good book, also I've been very poorly today so i don't know maybe I would have enjoyed this more had I not been feeling so shit. Also, there is sex in this but it's not great.
This is my first time reading anything by this author, and while I am glad that this was a standalone story, I have to say that I doubt I would read anything by this author again. I was bored for most of this story! I didn't care for the plot that Poppy and Jax cooked up to get back at their mothers, and felt that much of the plot was telling the reader what happened rather than showing it to us. I also had a very hard time connecting to characters, or even keeping them straight! I also read the sample chapters of one of the author's other books, and found it to be more of the same problems that I encountered with this story, so I'll be avoiding this author in the future!
Jax and Poppy, best friends turned strangers turned fake couple turned lovers.
Amazing chemistry and a good story. The joke fell flat. There weren't any lol moments. And I loathed Connor. If that had been my brother I would have punched him in the face. It was clear early on he was the instigator behind the early demise of Jax and Poppy and he was never sorry or truly regretful. He was an asshat that shouldn't have been forgiven so easily. It ruined the rest of the story for me.
This was pure torture. I like a cheery, cheesy Christmas romance like anyone else and this was just awful. The only redeeming point was the POV of Jax because Poppy was insufferable. Jax at least was a more fleshed out character. And Poppy’s brother, Conner, was an ass. Your best friend and your sister like each other and you go out of your way to not just ruin that but their friendship because of your jealousy?! How disgraceful. Especially since you KNOW you’re the reason your sister left. And if any of my family ever did to me what Poppy and Jax’s mothers did to them, I would NEVER speak to them again. To completely humiliate them at big important events? Times that were supposed to be extra memorable for them? And then never actually apologize for it? Yea no. I’d never speak to them again. And was it supposed to be cute that they had one last prank at their expense, that the idea of pulling one over on their parents was still their mother’s idea? Like grow the fuck up.
And Poppy, for all that she “loved” Jax, sure was the first one to remind him about sleeping with other people and that he must be STD ridden and all the other things she said. If I were Jax, and she said those things to me, there is no way I’d stay in love with her. No mam. This was all just terrible, terrible writing.
I got the boxed set of three books…I’m not finishing them.

A Holly Jolly Grumpy Grinchmas by Addison Moore ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A sweet, almost sappy Christmas Romance with some steam. This is a standalone in the Sugar Plum Hollow series.
Poppy is living in LA as a designer. She hasn’t been home to Sugar Hollow for the holidays in YEARs to ensure she doesn’t run into Jax, her childhood best friend- first kiss, and first love.
Jax is still living in Sugar Hollow with his family helping run the multimillion dollar family business. He’s become a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” kind of guy….. and there’s a long line of conquests. He doesn’t want to get involved with anyone because he knows what it feels like to have his heart shattered…. Poppy.
When Poppy finally does come home to Sugar Plum Hollow, she finds herself in the middle of a plan with Jax to trick their mothers into believing they are in a relationship- something their mothers have been hoping for their whole lives.
If you’re going to read this one- do the ebook or print version. The audio version is done with automated voice- and it’s AWFUL. Words are even pronounced incorrectly! I had to stop listening and try the book…. Then it was much better.
Addison Moore brings us her newest book, Naughty By Nature—a sexy story of two people who were once best friends, but are now enemies and how one prank brings them back together.
Jax Stade is sexy, cocky and the guy who broke Poppy Montgomery’s heart all those years ago. Poppy Montgomery is an L.A. fashion maven (sort of) who returns home to Oak Grove for a birthday celebration and announcement. She runs into Jax and those once fluttery feelings are now replaced with anger and disgust. With the help of their sister’s, they plan the ultimate revenge prank on their mothers—who call themselves the Maven’s of Mischief and have been plotting to get Jax and Poppy together from birth.
A fun story with a great group of characters and the perfect snark only Addison Moore can write makes Naughty By Nature a steamy, fun read!
First let me say this, I wish this book was my life story. Okay now that's out of the way I applaud this book many times. It's so ridiculously good and the storyline??!! Gah! It's forever cemented in my head. Jax and Poppy. Sigh. What a roller coaster of a life they have and missed chances that they don't know. Will they be able to steal a moment and lay everything on the table? Will the hilarious mothers help them out or hang them out to dry? Will Jax even want to agree in the first place? Will Poppy? Find out and enjoy all the amazing, fun characters in this awesome and inspiring book. It will have you laughing, crying, angry and surprised the whole time. Grab this book and tell your friends about it because this is one y'all will not want to miss.
One of my favorite themes for contemporary and new adult romance right now is best friends turned lovers. The main thing I look for with these types of stories is the inclusion of amusing anecdotes regarding past events in their friendship, and Naughty by Nature was full of them! I loved the close relationships between all of the characters—especially Poppy and Jax—and I was not prepared to laugh as hard as I did at their witty dialogue. Addison Moore also nailed Jax’s POV, and I just loved being in his head. The one thing I kept thinking while enjoying Naughty by Nature was that it would be an awesome movie. I can only imagine who they would choose for Poppy and Jax’s relentless mothers!
Poppy and Jax have a long history with each other beginning from the womb. Their mother's are best friends and the perpetrators of years of outlandish pranks on all their children. Jax and Poppy were once best of friends and now they are enemies who fell out of friendship that has kept Poppy away from her family and Jax for several years.
Now it's time for a big life event birthday for the moms and poppy and Jax devise a plan to pretend to be in love to spoof their mom's big time on their big day.
The story is funny, sexy hot, and even sad at times. Poppy and Jax learn a lot about each other and what they find important in life. Will it be together or apart? Read this endearing story and find out.
first book she and her best friend had misunderstanding. he dated a bunch of other girls. she moved to ca and tried to get a job there she came back and they were both still in love with each other they pretended to be in love so they could break up in front of their moms, since their moms always wanted them to be together but after they did they found they really did love each other and were going to get married. the moms told them it was their idea for them to pretend to be in love and break up
second book just add mistletoe christmas in gingerbread colorado
couldnt get into the rest of the book

I got this book in a collection of 3 books and I won't be finishing the collection, so that says a lot. I didn't mind the characters and plot, as that seems to be the main issue people review this book for. My problem was with the writing. I've never read so much alliteration and unrealistic dialogue in a book. I'll be THRILLED if I never have to read the phrase "just this side of" ever again. The author overused that phrase in the book, and it just felt uncreative, poorly written, and poorly edited.
