Joy & Zak
Back to the Bear is a story of Joy's and Zak's journey on falling in love.This was a cute sweet romance with a twist of intrigue to it.Joy is an abused women who copes with pain and suffering day to day.Joy decides now is time to start making some major life changes and return home to where she grew up.
I found Joy's character to be full of sadness but, she is changing all that a becoming a stronger women.Joy takes charge of her own life now and she amazed me at the same time.I saw a spark in her she wasn't completely broken.I liked how Joy didn't wallow in pity just kept moving forward.In meeting Zak and old High School sweet heart she knows he is exactly what she needs to heal.
This story was a world wind courtship for this couple.These two had chemistry,were able to laugh and play and have fun.Just what was needed for this pair.Zak knows that Joy is the one that got away.When reconnecting with Joy Zak knows instantly he will do everything to kept her this time around.Zak and Joy both feel this incredible connection to one another.The kind that you can't live without.Something both have be searching for sometime in the life.Both wanting to find happiness and someone to love.
I was rooting for this couple as I really wanted Joy to find some real happiness in her life.No matter how hot the sex is and the connection and the feelings she has toward Zak she is always questioning her involvement with Zak.Zak is keeping secrets making her doubt herself.You feel her pain as she struggles to trust her heart.
A quick story that had love, passion,romance,pain,and secrets coming to life.I loved reading about these rough and bada** hunky shifters especially when they fall really hard after finding their one true mate.I enjoyed seeing it as its always a little slip of a girl that makes them fall. LOL too cute!All those things combined made it and enjoyable fun read with a taste of the MC bad boys.It was easy to make a connection with this couple and be invested in their future as well.I really loved reading about them and the journey they were a lot of fun.
I have read a ton of stories by this author and what I have seen from her is growth.Her writing keeps improving over time and her stories better and better.I am looking forward to this reading other titles from this author as the come available.
A recommend light and enjoyable read.We are giving it 4 stars.

it was a short read the characters were good but the plot ran short. to much missing. Needs more substance.

Bears, aliens, Highlanders and wolves, oh my!
Joy wants to get away from her physically and emotionally abuse husband, so she goes back home, files a restraining order and for divorce. Of course, just like in real life 'dat don't work'. But on the plus side, her old boyfriend Zak has changed from an average guy to head of an outlaw biker gang. And he still loves Joy. Zak and the ex have a few too many similarities for my taste, but it all works out.
Be 'warned', you're getting a lot more than Back to the Bear with this ebook. There are at least a dozen other stories, Bear, wolf, alien, Highlander... The additional stories aren't complete, edited, polished, but they are fun and take you all sorts of places.

Hot and Spicy Werebear romance story by Sky Winters!I received an ARC copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed. Love the chemistry between Zak and Joy's!! I liked reading this fast pace story, it had drama, suspense, danger, mystery, heartbreak, humor, steamy scenes and a second chance at romance.

This was such a roller coaster courtship for Joy and Zak. They had chemistry, laughs and fun. What a foundation for a relationship and a book. Reconnecting with the one that got away and making them see that you have changed for the better and want to start again makes this such a good read. I just fell in love with Joy and Zaks characters.

Cover title-
I love childhood friends or sweethearts reunited after years and years apart. So that made this story a great read. Does have a HEA and it didn't skip around unless it said days or weeks later. But as for a trigger there is one and it's abuse. Her current/soon to be ex husband beats her and will hit her in the first chapter.

This is a very well written, easy to read story that puts you where the characters are. If you want something that won't make you think too seriously about the outside world then this is the perfect story for you!! The characters have a storyline and it's not all sex. My only complaint is there could have been more Shifting LoL!! Other than that, I think Ms. Winters did a damn good job!!

Second chance romance bear style!! This was a good second chance romance story, I like that the heroine finally got stronger and stood up for herself in the end and took a chance on love. I can't wait to read more from this author!!

It was simply alright for what it was. There was a lack of depth to a good deal of the story, and a lot of the changes taking place within the plot happened a little too rapid-fire and with less reaction/fallout than I would have expected.

A short read. You have Joy who fell for a wild guy in school, but after married he was abusive. She left Zac for him, but now that she is single again, can her and Zak get back to gather or not? Can she accept who he is? For a short a read it is good.

Joy was in a very bad marriage...Her husband that she thought was good tuned out to be a very nasty guy...Joy goes back home to take care of her Dad that is suffering from memory loss...there she see's the one she should have been with..Zak. The story gets good from there!

Joy is living in an abusive marriage. She wants out and decides to go help her aging father. She soon runs into her first love. So many things have changed but her old flame is only brighter. Throw in her angry ex-husband and some bears and you have a wonderful story.

This was a very emotion short read. You like shifter stories then you will like this one. We meet the characters that have things happen in their life that is holding them back from finding that true happiness. When every day is a struggle to just move that is what Joy is living. Zak show up and then we get to see a start chemistry that can make them happy. Will Joy be able to let the past go of the hold on her? Recommend this book

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this entertaining and intriguing bear shifter book. The story covers a young woman on the run from a abusive husband, she goes to stay with her father and meets a ex-boyfriend and gets involved with him, but he has a secret that he has to tell her. What you will find in this story is drama, suspense, a woman on the run (Joy), a abusive husband (Aris), a ex-boyfriend (Zak), a father suffering from Alzheimer, bikers, lawyers, divorce papers, a date, bonfire, intimacy, dating, waking up one morning, body changed, in the woods, Aris there, bikers, choose who to fight with, choosing Zak, laughter, Zak shifting, Arik unconsciousness, hospital, home, Zak there, giving vitamins to father, declarations of love, doctor, pregnant, explanations from Zak, he and bikers are bear shifters, coming home, Aris there, a gun, threats, shot fired, hospital, arrested, campground, time for babies, lust, emotional feelings, love and erotic scenes. There are some wonderful bonus stories included. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a good bear shifter book with a HEA.

The author did a good job on this book however some aspects of it are just not for me. It should not stop anyone from reading it – it’s just that I have issues with spousal abuse and illegal gang-type behavior. Having said that, the story itself will tug at your heartstrings. Joy is in an abusive relationship, which she barely escapes, and returns to her hometown and her dad. An old boyfriend shows up, after having been away for a long time as well, and their relationship is rekindled. Joy has no idea that Zak, the former boyfriend, is a shifter so it is yet another layer to add to her crazed life. All in all, the story was good but as I said above, some parts just weren’t for me. It did have some editing issues but nothing too major that took you away from the story. My recommendation is that if you enjoy shifters, along with MC stories, and can handle reading about some spousal abuse, buy this book.

I found myself scanning through sections instead of reading them.

Joy thought she knew the world at graduation from high school and wanted the rough and tumble bad boy Aris. Little did she know she would regret that soft nerdy boy she told no.
Zak has grown up a lot since he last saw the beautiful Joy. Now adults he knows what he wants. Especially when he sees her bad in their town.
Will they finally get their happy Everly after.

A wonderfully written book. The only thing I would have changed, is maybe giving a little more of their history. Still the passion between them was real and very vivid in my mind. I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book.
