It's the book you've been waiting for! Don't miss the stunning conclusion to the Guardians of the Wolves!
Most Lone Wolves have a story—a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can’t bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back…
Packs attacked. Humans forced to turn. Enforcers murdered.
Julian has been juggling the conflict without a real target for months, they always seem to be just one step behind the Volchitsa and even the wolves they’ve captured can’t tell them enough. With the fate of the packs resting squarely on his shoulders, Julian, the Chief Enforcer, will swallow his pride to seek out the one wolf he knows can help them all, the one who seems to know all the players, who can think like them…if anyone can find the Volchitsa it’s the ghost he’s hunted for decades…
I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.
I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.
After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.
Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.
Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.
One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.
I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!
Holy Moly! Yep this is my favorite one and explains everything...tho na na na I guessed one part hehehe. All I can say is ya gotta read all the Wolves of Willow Bend just to get to this one cuz it's awesome!!
I was fortunate to receive and ARC of this book, I am review of my own volition.
Oh what a tangled web! This book takes us on a journey through past and present. Written with glimpses of history woven into the lives of Julian and Dallas starting in 1971 and progressing to the present.
Now Julian has always been a bit mysterious, and no one really knows much about him outside his chief enforcer role. This book changes all that and more.
We've seen glimpses of Dallas especially where Chrystal is concerned and we've seen her with Julian on one memorable occasion. Now a truce needs to be formed and a solution found to the Volchitsa problem, for which it appears Dallas may hold the key.
The pressure is on and this book is one OMG after another. However it is the past that truly engages me. A young Dallas and an enforcer named Julian.
I expected this book to be hot in more ways than one and trust me it surpasses all expectations. There is shock and surprise as Julian and Dallas spar verbally and physically.
Truths beyond games, a trial, an Alpha Conclave and more send this book to the top of my all time favorites.
Ghost Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend Book 12) (Kindle Edition) This is the last story in the Wolves of Willow Bend series. I absolutely have loved every one of the stories in this series that I have read. Heather has done a wonderful job in building a unique cast of characters in an absolutely engrossing storyline. While each story can be read stand alone, I love the way each additional story in the series adds more to the overall plot and builds as you learn more about the individual characters, their lives, loves and losses. Heather did a great job of tying up all the loose ends in this last story of Julian and Dallas. One is Chief enforcer, the other a lone wolf. Both are too alpha and hardheaded for their own good. Through out the earlier stories we got bits and pieces of their past connection. It was just enough to make you want to know more. Finally we get to find out about how their lives intertwined and then unravelled because of the choices they made in their lives, no matter how well intentioned they thought they were at the time. The story consists of both flashbacks that show us who the characters were and present day that shows how the choices culminated into their present situation. Are Dallas and Julian somehow inadvertently the cause of present day problems with the Volchitsa? Can they overcome all the issues that stand between them so they can finally admit what they mean to each other? You just have to read the story to find out. I highly recommend this series. Once you start you won't want to stop
You will get so much more than a great story when you read this book. Ghost Wolf by Heather Long is not only the conclusion to the Guardians of the Wolves, it truly ties up the stories that have come before it. Do you need to read the series to enjoy? No, I don’t think so, however it will certainly make more sense and be more enjoyable. (They are great reads as well.) I found Ghost Wolf to have all that I have come to love in a shifter story. It was sexy, and smexy, with Ms. Long’s signature humor and wit. The story had real depth and these shifters are great characters. Ghost Wolf sucked me in and wouldn’t let go until I had read it straight thru. Both Julian and Dallas are snarky and I enjoy that in my books. I’ve always had a soft spot for Julian; throughout the series, as he has appeared in the role of Chief Enforcer for the wolves. For the most part, he is in charge of the Enforcers for the packs and the Lone Wolves…of which Dallas is one, albeit a rogue. Dallas made me crazy but she has a very big story to tell and it will really hit home; at least it did for me. Love, love, love Julian. I can just picture him as he is standing on the beach as he is in one of the scenes from the book, that’s how well this story is written. It truly gave me closure for all the wolves I read in past books. Julian, and finally Dallas, open up to life and love and “home”. It was a long time in coming but what a fantastic book. I’m gonna miss these folks…
Julian, the master of distraction, finally gets to out his dirty secrets and we find out his links to Dallas! The Voltchitsa are finally getting their dues and the enforcers are becoming more than they have ever been before.
There is a LOT of history between Julian and Dallas and just how their lives have intertwined in the intervening years. Julian may be chief enforcer, pricklier than a cactus and as lovable as a hole in the head but he is good at his job, often to his own detriment. He hides his caring side...waaaaaay down deep!
Dallas, well, she is flighty, strong of soul and has a mouth that'll land her in hor water but she lives to needle Julian! The plot still twists and turns and pulls in all directions - brilliant. I hate books you can plot yourself with 100 accuracy cos they are so straight-forward!
Ghost Wolf Wolves of Willow Bend Bk12 Heather Long
The story of Dallas and Julian begins... yeah buddy!
Julian is the top senior enforcer of the many packs in the states. He keeps tabs on all his rogue wolves. But one in particular has always vexed him. Dallas. He wants her and he shouldn't even think along those lines. She's a lone wolf, a alpha to his alpha. And the laws state a lot og facts of what shouldn't be done. But she can hold her own. Only she has secrets he needs. And to get those secrets from her. He may have to pull a few of her teeth or do some extra actives he shouldn't be doing.... But the secrets Dallas holds will shake him to the core and just may as well piss him off.
Just wow...fantastic end to this arc of stories. I will go back and re-read Ghost Wolf again this week, since it was so rich in details and connections. Don't think it should be read as a standalone as one sex scene might be a red flag trigger for some readers, but in the full arc of getting to know Julian over many stories, it was an amazing read. Had to haul out tissues several times due to lovely, touching scenes in the latter parts of the story. Eagerly anticipating more Willow Bend stories, pretty please... Rating: 5 Stars and going on my 2017 Favourites List!
WOW! We have watched from afar throughout the series Chief Enforcer Julian and the complicated dance he weaves with the rogue wolf Dallas Dalton. A romance in the past had been hinted at and now we get the whole story. And what a story it is. Dallas is fire and Julian is ice but when they get together it gets really steamy. This story took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride that I have yet to recover from. This is a fantastic story and although it can be read standalone I recommend reading the rest of this fantastic series first.
Heather Long is amazing. I have loved every book. I have ever read by her. Wolves of Willow Bend is my personal favorite. Every book can be read as a stand alone. But I would suggest you with the first book. Because each one help's build. An amazing, beautiful, crazy, heart felt world. Where no one is truly prefect. But it's the small flaws that make the characters come to life.
The one that got away, or did she? This book is about Dallas Dalton, mother to Chrystal and the lone wolf or rogue that got away from Julian. He been hunting her for a very long time. But Julian and sent her a message through Chrystal that he wants to meet on natural territory. Julian is up to his neck in trying to figure out what the next move of the Volchitsa will be and the why of it all. Trying to keep his enforcers safe as well as the lone wolfs the enforces keep watch over. This is the book you don’t want to miss reading. All your questions will be answered, even the ones you didn’t know you had. Awesome story that is part of a series and yet still a self-contained story. But best read in order with the series. Very well written and highly entertaining to read.
This is the dramatic finale to this fast paced paranormal series. The main characters are the Chief Enforcer, Julian, and the wolf he has had the other enforcers searching for for decades, Dallas. In this compelling story all the lose ends are tied up, the motivation for the attacks on the packs is slowly revealed and, through various recollections of long past events the reader discovers more about the relationship between Julian and Dallas. As the team up to thwart their common enemy, they and others are placed in life threatening situations with a lethal, action packed showdown necessitating another heart stopping rescue before family secrets can be shared and love given a chance at last.
This is a fitting climax to the whole series and a riveting read. There are great characters, a roller coaster plot with plenty of twists and turns and revelations galore that explain current dilemmas and reactions as well as explaining some past actions. The author brings her characters, their emotions and actions to life within the pages of the story. I have enjoyed every story that I’ve read in this series and I’m happy to recommend the series to others who enjoy their shifter romances with hidden enemies, secret motives and fast paced action.
I was gifted an ARC of this story and chose to read and honestly review it.
Didn’t want this one to end… Didn’t want this one to end but overall, I was a bit disappointed in the ending and the reasoning behind what all has taken place. For him to spend all that time and go at them so successfully just for him to be that foolish to end it by himself was silly. The way the last fight was going I just knew we were going to see what all the alphas could do together, so I was a little let down. The story behind what really happened with them I really enjoyed but after reading Chrystal’s story I knew what the outcome was going to be.
He took to her way better than I thought necessary from the beginning and with what happened when he she took off in China or wherever they were I knew it was more to the story. I wanted to know more about him and his connection to his pack, finding out who he was related to was good. I’m still wanting something to go down in Delta Crescent though, it seems like they have been left out of the stories. Hopefully this isn’t coming to an end because I really enjoy the reads
The back n forth was annoying, not my fav style of writing tbh past present all the time. Maybe cos I like to read in a linear way.
The whole monty story was frankly ridiculous - all these books to be resolved in two pages? Utterly lazy n insulting to readers and all the money we've paid for this series. Pathetic even. This aspect of the story is just too annoying. Its like she couldn't be bothered anymore with the storyline. Sloppy, lazy , poor.
Notwithstanding that I did enjoy the book. I didn't understand how they never realised or acknowledged they were mates or that Julian couldn't smell crystal was his. I always thought you could smell that.
A lot of unanswered questions tbh. Have to mark it down so much because of this.
Also the way everything was oh so easily resolved Ed ergo the enforcers status, glossed over in a couple of paragraphs. Honestly I felt insulted. . It was a great book and it was a terrible book
Perhaps more a 2.5/5 I liked the old relationship between Julian and Dallas, not so much their reunion. Both are very hard, used to doing what they want by manipulating people, and try too long not to feel anything for the other. I was sure I liked that everything is changing for the better with the laws though, I thought it was too restrictive. The plot with the Russian wolves is finally brought to an end and I thought the bad duy was done with too easily. As for his reason for all this ?
Epic is a very apt word the the latest addition to the Willow Bend series. This story is amazing. It flows seamlessly from past to present and you get the entire story of our two MCs, along with further details that may shock and awe. I read it twice in very fast succession before writing my review, and it only got better the second time around. Bravo Ms. Long for this superb novel, and as always, I absolutely cannot wait for the next one!!
Ahhh. This story! It was so perfect. Julian and Dallas’ story was full of painful decisions, difficult choices, and no win situations. Only the threat to all Dallas holds dear could bring them back together again. Dallas... I honestly disliked her until the very very end. Seriously. She’s selfish and childish, unable to stop playing games and manipulating situations. But Julian is so responsible, even when he’s breaking the rules.
I loved how the story gave us what was happening now, and we also got what happened then, between Julian and Dallas. Our over-arcing storyline is also revealed, and it takes us almost the whole book to get there, and it was not at all what I expected, which was cool. A few twists in our world of wolves by the end, and some unexpected revelations. At the hear of it all, Julian and Dallas’ story had me glued to the pages!
This is book 12 in a series that I have not been able to put down. I have read every book back to back the characters and story line keep you booked from start to finish. I can highly recommend these books
Rate 5++ stars. WOW!! A fantastic, dramatic finale to this story arc of this wonderful paranormal series. I look forward to all future books in Ms. Long’s next story arc in the “Wolves of Willow Bend” series. P.S. Please Ms. Long don't keep us waiting too long !!
This book explains the history of enforcers. It's a great link to other wolves and how the challenges for enforcers living separately from packs. The h is great, so strong and brave and she gives up everything for others, while the H judged her. Great HEA.
Nice arc to the series as the wolves evolve with the changing times and the mystery of Julian is revealed. This novel wraps up more than a few of the continuing story lines, so it will be interesting to see where Ms. Long takes the Wolves of Willow Bend series from here. A very enjoyable read. I look forward to the next book.
What a disappointment! I've been holding out through the last few books (which weren't good either) to get to this one. The jumping back and forth through the decades watered down the animosity and hurt between Julian and Dallas. Julian was stiff and wooden and Dallas acted like a spoiled brat. Finally, what was up with the bad guy? His reasons for all the destruction were just weak and the Volchitsa were just a weapon. I think Long got bored with the series and had to wrap it up somehow. Sad because it could have been good.
I loved learning about Julian and his past, and catching up with the Enforcers. While I wasn't as invested in Dallas, knowing that she was important to Julian made her intriguing. As usual, the author has weaved a tale that drew me in and kept me up long past my bedtime on consecutive nights. Since I couldn't wait for the weekend to read, I'll spend part of the weekend catching up on sleep. Love Julian and Dallas as a couple and look forward to the next arc of this, one of my favorite series.
I was given an ARC of this book without any compromise. Heather Long's Ghost Wolf is the "conclusion" of arc's of Wolves of Willow Bend. This books gave us a fabulous "resolution" to the Voltchitsa's (sp?) issues, the changes in the packs and the enforcers evolution. (And I'm putting conclusions between quotation mark, because as you will found in the book, I suspect there are more stories brewing there!) We found two of the most intriguing characters I known in a long time: Dallas and Julian. Ms. Long interweaves effortless the past and the present of this two characters, not only showing us glimpses of what they were at the beginning and how the past affected there future. I really love to get to know Julian..the chief enforcer and major prick. He is tough, cold as ice and with a million secrets...here what he has under all that cool and gorgeous exterior, someone who cares...and then there's Dallas: a free soul, strong, powerful in her own way, sassy, mouthy and the Julian's thorn in his paw. Both have a very difficult past...and a lot of secrets....What I really like of this book (apart for certain hot scenes, LOL!!) is how Ms. Long keep twisitng and bending the plot, keeping us guessing, until almost the end. And those final chapters are worth a million bucks. This is definitively is one of the best books of the series.
I absolutely LOVE it when an author pulls out the finale from the left field. I had no idea how this was going to play out. Absolutely brilliant writing! Dallas has never been one of my favorites and even finding out the whys of what she did, I'm still not her biggest fan but I absolutely love Julian. I always knew there was a lot more to him than being a bada**.
This is the conclusion of the Guardian arc within the captivating Wolves of Willow Bend, one of my favorite wolf shifter series. It features Julian Carlyle, a 6' 5"" former WWII Army Ranger who left his pack when he returned home from the war and became an Enforcer. The story bounces back and forth between the past and the present, at times lingering a little too long in the past for my tastes, which along with typos were a distraction. I found myself setting the book down more than I would have thought I might. So in that respect, I was disappointed, yet the story itself answered the question of Julian and Dallas, one that has been building for some time. In spite of the odds against them, they prevailed. And I'm happy the series will be continuing.
Packs attacked. Humans forced to turn. Enforcers murdered. Following near miss assassination attempts on several prominent wolves. The packs are furious, out for blood and ready for war.
Dallas Dalton has lived on the run so long, she doesn’t really remember any other way of life. For an all too brief time, she had her daughter with her and the feeling of family until Julian got to too close once again. The damn wolf wouldn’t leave her be, no matter how much she’d sacrificed for him. Seeing him in Russia had been both a blessing and a curse, because no matter what she did, she couldn’t get him out of her system. Then he asked her for help…
Now side-by-side, the Enforcer and the Rogue will have to work together to deal with the Volchitsa once and for all, but can they keep from killing each other in the process?
JULIAN!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!!!!! I have to say that Heather Long didn't disappoint us at all!!!! This is the last book in the Enforcers series and i have to say it was all we expected! Julian the mighty Chief Enforcer has to face the one Rogue that slipped away, the one Rogue that he left get close to his heart...His mate. Dallas has to face Julian and work with him to protect her daughter no matter what the cost is...and the cost with Julian is always high.
Another excellent book by Heather long. Action packed, love, hate ,demons of the past and new reveletions and a mystery that finally unwravels this book was indeed the best in the series. An amazing super thrilling book that will keep you on your seat and your heart beating faster and faster.
Oh man this one was bittersweet for me to read. I am sure it was not so easy for the author either to say goodbye. We are finally given though all of the story behind Julian and Dallas. Julian has always been a puzzle and a magnet too. I just knew he had a tale but oh he was a scrumptious mystery. The danger heats up also in this one as secrets and the past are uncovered. This one dug into me not letting go with everytime I had to set it down for a minute, grumbling. Heat is present in this as things come to a head with also relief for the wait is coming to a end. When you do find out what you may of suspected to be true it comes out as joy anyways. After the final countdown I was so satisfied with the wrap up but pouting because I did not want it to end.
