About to start a business in a crowded market? And looking for ways to get an edge over the competition and beat the startup odds? I am afraid I have some bad news… I didn't crack the code and I’m not about to present you with a revolutionary alternative for building failure-proof startups. But what have I got instead? A (micro) book that introduces a new breed of startups... The Vertical Startups! A business type for down to earth, aspiring bootstrapped entrepreneurs for turning a late market entry into an advantage. In this book you'll - Why a late market entry has become the new norm - Which is the key precondition for a successful late (market) entry - What vertical startups are all about - Why trying to be better is NOT enough anymore - How today’s entrepreneurs set themselves apart from the crowd
A great book that lays out in a clear and succinct way what criteria you should use to pick an idea for a startup. Once you read this short book, you will have a good understanding of what kind of startup ideas will lead you down a dead-end path, and which ones have the potential for success. If you are thinking of starting a side business or startup, I highly recommend reading this before you settle on an idea.
Great book. Many interesting perspectives on how to enter a market late, and why it can be a HUGE advantage when in competition with the old, slow, and over-extended monoliths that seem to rule most fields.
As one who is in the very early stages of a startup, I appreciate the clarity of concepts, summary of key points and engaging writing style of this author. I plan on referring back to this book often as I love forward on my startup.
The book is worth reading. I would recommend for those who are on the verge of starting any business. Very concise flow of the content and indeed inspiring.
