4.5 stars. A gen fic told from Sam's pov in 5 parts. The Winchesters spend a hot summer at a remote cabin in Alabama as John attempts to train a receptive Dean (15) and a rebellious Sam (13) how to be hunters. Sam would much rather be playing soccer but John's word is law. The author depicts Sam's teenage angst to perfection.
"I really am sorry, Dean," said Sam, his voice catching. "I know you want to be a hunter, like Dad, and I'm trying to want to be a hunter too, only, it's really, really hard."
