Unpopular opinion time.
I fucking hated this book.
Now don't get me wrong. I was incredibly super pumped for this one. It has an element of reverse harem, plus shifters, plus dystopia, plus a kick ass heroine involved. What could be wrong with it?
Let's try almost everything.
It starts off with a Poppy rebelling against her dad and having a one night stand with Mr. Tall Golden and Handsome that she met in a bar. She's apparently being forced into a...ohmygodijustrealizedwhatthisbookremindsmeof...arranged marriage by her dad. It's her last hurrah. A big bang so to speak. So la de dah she jumps into bed with this dude who has like forty odd guards following him around and sneaking into his bedroom while they do the nasty.
Why? Why the fuck would you stay around for that? No no girl. That's how bad things happen. Even if you think you are special and good with a knife or two. This dude outweighs you and can easily overpower you and the fact that he is surrounded by guards but you don't recognize him should set off some fucking alarm bells don't you think?
So at the very beginning of the book, I already think that this girl is a complete moron. And she's 24? I would expect this out of someone younger for some reason but 24 is not the age to be rebelling against dad and running away from home.
But she does!
And she ends up in some Divergent style physical tests for a position in an army. Which is ridiculous because if you are trying to raise a fucking army, you take the biggest and strongest and then train them what to do. Nobody goes into basic training being able to throw a knife perfectly on aim. Which brings me to another reason I hate this girl.
She's perfect at everything.
She passes tests with flying colors. She never loses. She is apparently great in bed. She solves puzzles and is super smart. Her father is the leader of the resistance. She's sexy and pretty. Men fall all over themselves for her. Even in a fantasy world, you cannot have a perfect character.
It's like the author was going to get physically sick if Poppy had a flawed character. You know, other than tripping a couple of times. (I go back to my point that being clumsy on occasion is not a character flaw but a sign of an inner ear problem.) I want characters to be messed up. I need them to be redeemed in some way. All of these characters start perfect and end that way.
There is no character growth through this entire book.
They start and end the same way.
Godric (nicknamed God oh dear lord this is so fucking stupid) is a hunk of a man who is great in bed, is a master at fighting, runs a huge corporation, but magically takes time off to spend time with his new fuck-buddy. Everything in his world revolves around this girl that he has a one night stand with.
It's a perfect example of Draco Malfoy syndrome. He has no goals (other than some randomly mentioned political goals) outside of getting this girl into the army. His world is completely encompassed by her and consequently, the rest of the characters have this mindset. They all know what she fucking smells like. It's ridiculous.
So despite all of these perfect characters, this is truly a lackluster book. It has no depth outside of a pretty girl getting the attention of the big bad corporation giant and having amazing sex.
Oh, and for the comment all the way at the top where I remembered what this book reminded me of. Did anybody else read ridiculous marriage contract fanfictions for Harry Potter where a girl (usually Hermione) is forced to marry someone (Malfoy or Snape) against her will to breed more wizards? This book is exactly that. I can't stop laughing. That's exactly what it is.
So yeah, I'm an asshole and I hated this book.

Once in a while, you come across an author whose imagination just blows you away. Scarlett Dawn is my go to author with just such an imagination. You’re in a ready slump, you have a totally book hangover, time and time again Dawn’s writing has come to my rescue…so nothing really needs to be said how thrilled I was to receive ARC copy of Trigger, the first book in a new series by Scarlett Dawn.
Poppy Carvene is faced with an unwinnable situation. Marry the man her father, General Carvene, the leader of the Liberation Army, has chosen for her. Chose One: a pre-arranged marriage to a complete stranger, someone in General Carvene’s army, just to become a brood mare… OR Choice Two: join the Corporation Army, an army ran by her father’s rivals and defying her father’s wishes. To join the Corporation Army, Poppy also would have to forge General Carvene’s name to join the Corporation Army because joining without her father’s consent would be against the law and could end her in jail for 10 years…
You know this is going to be good when you have smoldering hot alpha males, a female lead that is as smart as she is smart ass and has the fighting know how to back it up.
Wish I could go into more but you’ll have to get your own copy to check this out. Just must say, once again, as with all Dawn’s storytelling, Trigger ended way sooner that I was ready to let these characters and new world go.

Oh. My. God. I freaking LOOOOOVED THIS!!!!! This is one of my absolute favorite NA PNRs I've ever read! If you're in the mood for an epic post apocalyptic world with secret shifters and a clumsy yet badass heroine (and a hero who does and says things you need to fan yourself for), you NEED this book in your life!!!

This was kind of embarrassingly bad, considering that this is nowhere near the first book this author has written . I actually liked the trilogy of Scarlett Dawn's Forever Evermore series, with some qualms granted but overall I still liked it. This book, the first in a new series, was just so incredibly simplistic though! I had tons of issues with this book.
Such as (warning! spoilers!):
- There is basically no world building. Poppy's father leads the "Liberated Army" who fights(?) against the "Corporate Army". But no explanation is given about why these two factions exist or what they even disagree about exactly.
- Poppy's father's biggest enemy is Godric, but Poppy has never even seen a picture of him? In a world where technology lets you enter some kind of floating compartment that flies you overseas if you just program it with your destination and everyone wears super technological bracelets.
- Poppy and Godric agree to have sex first BEFORE they even see each other's faces. Who does that? And again, she still didn't recognize him even after she saw his face, so there was no reason plot-wise for this to happen, it was just WEIRD.
- Poppy is the biggest Mary Sue who ever Mary Sue'd. She is perfect. She is gorgeous, great in bed, great at fighting, great at puzzle solving, and takes the news that a guy she had a one night stand with is now her mate for life and she is now immortal as if it's no big deal. Her one and only draw back in life is that she is klutzy. Seriously?
- Godric apparently has no life. Because he spends this entire book focusing on Poppy. All his friends focus on Poppy too. Because she's Mary Sue.
- There's a mysterious villain who sent some creatures to attack Godric/Poppy only they are really slow and don't put up much of a fight. There's zero clues given about who could be behind this non-thrilling attack and then that plot line is just kind of dropped, for future books in the series I guess? It's very anti-climatic.
I highly do not recommend this silly book.

It was great...but...
Trigger was action-packed, exciting, funny and sexy. I was sucked in from the very beginning to the end. This is paranormal romance just the way I like them. Instant attraction, mating bonds that can't be denied, and the shock of finding the one you will spend eternity with. All of these things give me a shiver up my spine and leave me with a big goofy grin.
The heroine, Poppy is a little package of dynamite who also happens to be a wee bit clumsy when she's distracted or over-thinking. The hero, Godric is a lion shifter who has taken over the world and putting it back together after the humans ruined it. Their connection was instant but unfortunately, they are on different sides of the war. Poppy's father is leading the resistant army and disagrees with everything Godric says and does. But, Poppy and Godric's connection can't be denied.
So, I really enjoyed this first instalment to the series and I was giddily rushing to buy the second when a few spoilers jumped out at me. Unfortunately, I will not be going on with the series after knowing what is coming ahead. I'm extremely happy with the treats I received by reading Trigger, but that's it for me. I want to end on a high.
I have enjoyed both stories I've read so far by Scarlett Dawn and I will definitely be going back for more...just not in the Origin series.

I really liked this one the story was really good. So good in fact that I wish we got more of the story behind and about the shifters. I also really liked the heroine she a tough lady and I love that she never gave up and went for what she wanted. The hero was possessive and demanding but I wish we would have gotten more of his love and need for the heroine. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, we see a lot of characters that I want to know more about, and I want more of this world that the author created. I highly recommend this book for anyone who love a good PNR book.

Idk. I guess I just expected.... More? The romance just wasn't there for me. At all. I even skimmed through a sex scene. Yes, me... skimmed through a sex scene.
There were usually guards around and it just isn't my thing to know people could hear them knocking boots. It took too long for them to reveal they were shifters. Meanwhile I'm sitting here wondering why (can't remember her name) isn't weirded out by the fact that everyone is always sniffing her. Hello. Clue number 1 that something ain't right.

Such a shame. This novella (no, it's not a novel, 39 chapters aside, you read it in a scant couple of hours...) had a hint of a story somewhere, and that hint might have become a very good plot. Enemies to lovers, a dystopian future, magic... All fake. Alas, even if it seems Ms Dawn is a writer with some years/books around, you really couldn't see from Trigger. At all.
This is a story with no real plot, no characterizations nor world building. There's no fluidity, things happen because the author writes them, not because there's a story moving them forwards. There's no coherence, and flatness is too nice a word for her characters.
The main Mary Sue runs from home because her father has chosen her husband and she doesn't want to marry. A few pages later she discovers she's mated... for eternity... to a guy she hasn't chosen either. But she's so blasé about it. He is (hinted as) her people's worst enemy, but she doesn't recognize/know him. You know, this is the guy who handed down the law that women have to marry (and can't choose). The law she's fighting against.... But she's no idea who he is. Her father made a soldier out of her, but she can't be one. On the other side, he didn't even show a pic of her their enemies... otherwise, how can it be possible?
In all this where's coherence? The fact she's had a one night stand with him doesn't a choice make. By the way this is the guy her father fought all his life and whose corporation has killed her mother. Just to say. And, resistance usually is an undercover movement. If it has a face and a "nation" I wouldn't call it resistance.
The more I think about the story, the more holes come out, nothing really stands (and I really mean nothing...) The second half is even worse than the first, as that thin thread unravels completely.
Everything is treated with a lightness that overflows into stupidity, not fluffiness. If this was the aim.
People dies? Who cares. There are monsters out there, oh yes? How weird...

Seriously I don't really know what I'm going to write about this book except this book a kind of feeling good book which made you happy during reading it? At least that's how I felt:)
It setting in the future when humans managed to destroy the world that we know, guess who the victims of those stupidity? Exactly! Women and children:(
The number of population shrink and they plunged into poverty.
The King made a new rule to gain more populations, everyone had to get married by 25y. Boo!!
Or join The King's army or it called it here Corporate Army, which is hard to get selected due of the hard test involved.
Poppy, our heroine preferred to be in the CA but dearest daddy not having that, he wanted her to get married, because he is a Liberated Army's General, the CA opposition, kind of The King's no. 1 enemy, eventhought they both tried to be civilised each other, sigh.
So, she made a plan to join the CA no matter what. But before she's gone she pop to her normal hangout to have a drink where she met the Hero and had one night stand with him:)
Of course she didn't know who he was until later when daddy introduced her to him in a meeting at the same time he introduced her to her prospective hubby! Nice:)
Oh well it doesn't matter, she run away to the capital, where almost every male she met keep sniffing at her, lol:))
What Poppy and the rest of the world doesn't know, 30% of male population actually shifter and they are in charge all those big businesses, important rulers and they are also rich, while the rest of the world living in poverty. However they also need human women as a mate to breed, because all shifter are male! Unfortunately there weren't any mate for the last 100 years because of dark souls who lurking around the female and made the mating all wrong.

Why? No clue yet, sigh.
Because this story kind of drop in the middle of story and you'll find slowly what was happening before, even the villains didn't really bad in this one because it never really appeared yet, but from the storyline you can feel they very evil and see them more in the next books.
So, here you will see how Poppy doing with CA recruitment test and the started of her relationship and became Godric's mate who she found out later actually a real king and a lion shifter! Hah, that was a funny scene, lol. And the introduction of what will we expect from those villains later in the series.
Actually this book more like between 4 to 4.5 stars, because it just feel like a dessert instead of a main course. But this book gave me plenty smiles and happy feeling, so I didn't really complain about it and just waiting for the next book:)

The bones were there for an awesome story. I really liked the h. She was fun & smart. I loved the H but he wasn't developed enough. But he has a bad boy alpha vibe that is yummy. Even discounting the lacking romance the story was incomplete as PNR/futuristic book. Though some parts were awesome.
In the middle the H didn't feel part of the story. He would sneak in for some fantastic lines then disappear. The H/h had great chemistry so I was irritated that their story wasn't fully developed. We got teasers but no great show. I did love the 1st sex scene. There were only 2.
There were some great funny scenes between the H/h.
Story is only told from the h perspective.
I am planning on reading the 2nd book.

This story is set in a post-apocalyptic future world that is known to have two dividing factions, known as the Liberated Army and the Corporate Army. Here we have Poppy Carvene, daughter of the great General Carvene and leader of the Liberated Army. Poppy is twenty-four years old and has to either be married by the age of twenty five or join the army, and with just a few short weeks from turning twenty-five her father takes it upon himself to plan an arranged marriage for his daughter. Poppy being the bad-ass heroine that she is, isn’t about to sign her life away by being married to a stranger, has decided to go behind her fathers back and join the Corporate Army, her father’s sworn enemies. This is where things get interesting!!!!! ;D

“That I want you near me.” This was not where I’d thought he was going with this flirty line of conversation.
I blinked in astonishment, and blabbered, “You can’t just say that to me.”

This book was a breath of fresh air. It was entertaining, fast paced, filled with magic and sexy scenes. I even found myself laughing at times. It had a clumsy, intelligent, bad-ass heroine and a Sexy God-like man that likes to call you ‘pet’ as a form of endearment. It was filled with secret shifters, and interesting characters.
The only small issue I came across with this book was when the characters were explaining about shifters and mates. I had to read that part a few times in order to really comprehend what they were saying and what it meant to be a mate to a shifter, but as I continued to read I was able to get the gist of what was said, but other than that this book was amazing. I seriously can’t wait to read more from this series and author.

Fun quick read. I'm a big Twilight fan, so no real surprise that I'd like this.
I got a bit lost on the whole thing about mates/bleeding and how they tested mates, and the curse/ 'darkness' thing, but a lot of it made me laugh and I liked Poppy for her sass.
Just a bit too much 'nibbling of her bottom lip' for me tho!

Fated Mates, but they fight it while still liking each other.
The villain was kind of a non-character. Just introduced the concept of the bad guy, so hopefully there should be more of a struggle in the next book.
The main plot in this book was Poppy working to pass all the trials to join the CA.
I'm going to check out more books from this author.

First off I must start by saying Scarlett Dawn has offically cemented herself as my all time favorite author. Not only does she always seem to grab my attention from page one, she gives me characters I can relate to and that I want to see succeed, fail, love or hurt.
I am not very good with words, so I will try to say all this without giving away too much of this fabulous book!
This book is about a klutzy but lovable bad-ass who I couldn't get enough of! I laughed so hard during certain parts of her story I had tears....seriously..tears running down my face. I was pulled into her story from the very beginning and was angry along with her at her father who I thought was being an asshole and I cheered her along during her meeting of a certain GORGEOUS specimen that lead to a RIDICULOUSLY HOT SCENE!!!
Scarlett is a pro of giving just enough details to keep someone on the edge of their seat and form all kinds of questions and theories about all kinds of things going on in her stories. She is one of the only authors I have read, re-read, and re-re-read again and again and again, and STILL find NEW things I may have missed each time I read it. She leaves little bread crumbs that make you go WHAT!!!! LOL!! Then you will think you know what is coming and you are left gasping as it turns out you were sooo wrong.
These new characters in this new world of hers are just what I needed to get a quick hit of the addiction I have formed for her books. I always seem to have favorites that I become infatuated with and this new series is no exception to that....I have an all time favorite that I fell hard for and he makes my heart hurt for him. I cannot wait to see what is next for him.
I saw someone say once on her Facebook page they wished they could kidnap her and make her write stories for them everyday lol well SO DO I!!! I am left again, waiting anxiously for the next book to get a glimpse at my favorite new people and their quirky attitudes lol.

2,5 Shifters-interrupted Stars
Damn, damn, triple damn. Pretty cover (who could resist that maned lion?!), super cheap first instalment, shifters...how could I NOT try this? I just wish I wouldn't feel so cheated now!
The story has potential, tropes I love, an experienced writer, a world that could be fascinating, a mistery plotline, but it's all so damn short and light it feels like a big rush suddenly halted. We are in a dystopian future after a big war that decimated most of the population, the planet divided into ruling Corporations and their army and the Liberated Army, kind of the resistance, forced marriage to repopulate but there is very, very little world building, which is a pity, since I happen to really like the glimpses she gave. Some steampunk accents here and there. Right at the end of the book there's an info dump regarding the existance of shifters, who is who, mates, mating problems, bad magic and a mysterious enemy which will probably be revealead only in the next book, not even sure, so vague was the ending.
The enemy to lovers trope can be insanely good, here there isn't much resistance or fight at all. The main characters start the book hooking up the first time they meet, actually looking at each other's faces only just before moving towards a private place...how believable is that? Ok, she luuuurved his smell and his accent and the powerful body, she knew he was rich. I know the power of scent and voice, this was just too speedy for me too, call me old fashioned. From the moment they meet again is just basically getting closer and closer, no matter the weak hindrances or protests from the heroine. At least I can say I liked them together, their banter, the sex they had. Shifter sex, rougher and endless, headboard splitting, biting and blood, of course I am going to like it, no matter how it's written. But there is little depth to their connection, no time to really develop a bond or even an obsession. Godric plays the vain, arrogant lion well, plus I found him yummie and he calls her 'pet', which got to me every single time, he is also quickly tender, but for being someone so important, a leader of most of the planet, he seems to have all the time in the the world just to follow his one night stand around and he falls in love almost immediately. I missed, needed more time to feel their love blossoming for real.
And what about Poppy? She's supposed to be a kick-ass, independent military trained heroine best at everything (she gets redhead extra points from me), we follow all her tests to be accepted into the army of her father's enemy, but I couldn't buy it. She was at least reasoning and considering all her options at the right moments, but most of all I just got her attitude. I think she's actually more arrogant than Godric. She faints after discovering the truth about shifters for the first time, but other than that and the initial dread/incredulity, she's immediately ok with the whole thing. After all, it happens every day one finds out to be the life mate of the Shifter's King and now an immortal too, right? Right. No time to develop much her character anyway.
Considering the amount of characters presented, I assume the serie will be longer than four books. Needless to say they are all dropdead gorgeous, brilliant at something and great fighters. Godric's father and his seer are probably the ones to really look out for. There are so many unanswered questions left that I pray the next book will be longer at least.

Shifters in a dystopian world for only .99 cents? heck yes I’ll try it. (novella)
The world has fallen apart and the ones who survived to rule are the shifters who always lived amongst us. To repopulate the earth, human women are forced to marry in arranged marriages. The only other recourse is to join the Corporate Army- which is exactly what Poppy is about to do, even though they are her father’s arch enemies.
When she discovers her father has arranged a marriage for her, she’s more determined to run then ever. But before she makes it out of town she meets a mysterious man who sizzles with sex. Deciding to go for it, she finishes her time at home with a one night stand, only to discover HE is her father’s arch enemy- the King of Corporate.
She does make it out of town eventually- but ends up running right into the King’s lair. Now they are linked beyond what either of them thought possible, and an army of darkness is arising to stop their joining, because she’s the first of many who are about to set the world right again.
Okay, no one is going to accuse this book of being literature by any stretch of the imagination- and not even amongst the best of Paranormal Romance novels. Let's face it, this has been done already. But the dystopian post apocalyptic setting sets it apart a bit, and The King's friends are definitely intriguing to my inner romance reader... so yeah, I'm good with this. :) I'm gonna def. pick up the next one.

Something that most Scarlett Dawn fans can agree on is that there is NEVER enough.
Once again throwing her readers into the thick of things, Dawn sets the stage early and keeps the action high and meaningful throughout the book. The characters are strong (her females ALWAYS kick booty like it's their job) and smart. The progression was not romance centered, and yet it was. I love how the story was an equal blend of action and romance. Oh, and humor. I LOVE the sense of humor. It's a combination Dawn has perfected (IMO).
My only issue is that it seems really fast and a little short. But that may be due to my SD addiction and need for her style.

I'm not sure what to think about this book.
It was really undeveloped, both the plot and the MCs, their first meet and the majority of the dialogue was eye rolling and face palm. To tell you the truth, the writing style was a bit weird to me. Really weird. I'm not even sure I liked the MCs. It would need approx. another 100 pages to develop the plot, explain gazillion stuff and put at least one layer on characters.
However, I stayed up really late to read this book and I don't even know why, but I quite enjoyed it. I might even read the #2 part when it comes out. So there's that.
Don't mind my review, it's the sun and the heat talking.

There's never a dull moment when I read a Scarlett Dawn story. From the moment I turn the first page until I read the very last word (which is often against my wishes because they are ALWAYS too short), I am engrossed in all aspects to whatever world she has conjured up.
It's both delightful and infuriating.
Just like every other book, I've read this in one sitting...and I knew I would, too. How could I not? A shape-shifter world born from the destruction of man? The need of human women to keep the race alive. Dueling armies? Star-crossed lovers...I've hit the Sci-Fi/Paranormal mother load!
I cannot wait to see how this story further unfolds; how the laws may change, people may change, and ultimately how two sides come may have to come together in order to fight a greater evil. One we know nothing about...yet. (Thanks for that.)

I'm just going to start this review by saying that if a book is written by Scarlett Dawn I buy it, I don't need to read the blurb or look at the cover - I just buy it! Scarlett has never disappointed me and she definitely didn't with her first book her new Origin series!
The book begins with a drop-in introduction (what I call it when you start a book in the middle of scene and you need to read to figure out what is happening) between Poppy and her father. We find out that Poppy is about to be married off ... and well Poppy has other ideas in mind (Chapter 1 is posted on her website btw). Of course soon Poppy meets a sleek businessman who may have more secrets than muscles. The story unfolds in to one of Scarlett's AMAZING fantasy worlds where there is a perfect amount of romance, danger, and suspense.
I love that Scarlett builds strong female characters that have jobs and do things instead of just giving up their lives for love and Poppy is no different! My only complaint is that this book is too short and I want more background into the Origin world! However, as I just saw on her website BOOK COVER #2 is posted (TRANSCEND), I will take a leap and assume that we will be learning much more about the Origin world very soon!
Five stars! Buy it. Read it. Love it.
The book begins with a drop-in introduction (what I call it when you start a book in the middle of scene and you need to read to figure out what is happening) between Poppy and her father. We find out that Poppy is about to be married off ... and well Poppy has other ideas in mind (Chapter 1 is posted on her website btw). Of course soon Poppy meets a sleek businessman who may have more secrets than muscles. I love me some paranormal romance... this one did not disappoint! It was amazing. Lets add in the fact it's also dystopian... sigh...
Poppy's father is the general/leader for the Liberation Army. He has decided that Poppy is going to be married to a man she has never met. Poppy isn't having that and has a plan that doesn't include marrying a stranger... she wants to join the Corporation Army... everything her father is against. Not only that, she enlists without his signature (its forged) which could result in her being jailed.
Scarlett lays down the back drop and slowly builds this story, having you turning the pages faster and faster. Poppy is strong female character with an equally stronger alpha male counter part. You will not be disappointed with Godric... trust me.
My only qualm.... I need the second book like yesterday. Definitely one click this now.

I came across Scarlett Dawn through The Complex series. It’s a wonderful collection of stories, a collection that introduced me to some new authors. With Scarlett Dawn, upon finishing her story Blade of Forever, I knew I would need to read more of her books. Thus, I was more than happy to jump into Trigger.
Trigger is the first book in the Origin series, and it sets up the series so well. I’ll admit it wasn’t perfect, but it has left me super excited to see where the series heads from here. I have so many questions, so many things I wish to find out more about, that it would be silly not to continue. At this point, it’s imperative I read the next one.
From the start, I was pulled into Trigger, curious about the world I had entered. It has everything I’ve been told a Scarlett Dawn book has, everything I experienced in Blade of Forever. There are many steamy moments; there’s action; there’s mystery; there’s drama; there’s love shining bright. As a whole, it gives us everything you could expect from such a read.
As I said, though, the book was not perfect. Whilst it had all the aspects needed for a brilliant read, I felt as though some elements were lacking somewhat. Although there was action, I feel that we were never given the big moment that is vital for these kinds of stories. At one point I thought we were about to get it… but it didn’t happen. Due to this, I feel as though the action aspect of the book was a bit disappointing. It promises so much, yet it didn’t fulfil with this one. Because of this, I’m hoping the next book in the series makes up for what was lacking here.
I also hope that the next book does a bit more world building. Whilst the world was very interesting, and I fell in love with it, I feel as though I didn’t understand it as well as I would have liked. You see, I positively adore world building. I want to know every single detail possible. I want the world to truly come to life before my eyes. With this one, the world just seemed to exist. We were given some information about the history, about how the world turned into the dystopian lifestyle we glimpse, but we never fully understood it. As someone who is crazy about world building, I just wanted more.
Despite these things, I was addicted to the story. It was one I was more than happy to consume in a single sitting. It was all kinds of addictive, with so many elements of the story pulling me in.
My biggest love, however, was the characters. They were erring on the side of perfection, with their clichéd ways and overdone traits, but I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between the two of them. In fact, watching the relationship shift between our main characters meant I didn’t really notice the lack of action until the book was finished. I was so caught up in their story that it wasn’t until I put the book aside that I realised that peak moment wasn’t all it should have been.
It’s not only the main characters who are wonderful, though. The side characters are also a lot of fun. I cannot wait to read more about the men who were introduced in this story; I cannot wait to see how their romantic storylines play out and influence the overall story.

Poppy is fixing to have to be forced to marry a man she doesn't know and wants nothing to do with. But, when she ends up sleeping with a stranger and running away, she never expected to end up being around the king shifter. And now, she seems to be more important to him than she thought, and she can't stay away from him.
This book was actually a little too short for me, but it was interesting. I think it was really enjoyable, and I loved the plot line. I also really liked the characters as well. The relationship between the hero and heroine needs to be a little it more, but it was actually really nice between them. And I'm looking forward to more now!

Cute shifter story! I liked both Poppy and Godric! The story is mainly about Poppy, who is trying to enter the Corporate Army! Shifters aren't mentioned until the last few chapters!
