This is an eclectic and interesting anthology. I enjoyed all of it, and some of the pieces are absolutely stellar. I have a feeling if I'd gotten into Wu-Tang Clan much when I was younger that I'd dig it even more, but I could still dig it even only being somewhat familiar. It's some good stuff, well worth reading and enjoying.

Up front I have to say that I'm not a fan of Wu-Tang's music. I have always been intrigued by their imagery and the strange, mash up worldview put forth by their members. With that in mind I decided to give this book a read.
All around, it is a pretty impressive anthology. Each story was entertaining, and some where even thought provoking. There is a lot of cool imagery in this book, mixed up with over the top violence, and street philosophy.
While they are all winners, the stories that most stood out to me are Abbot of the White Lotus, HellRZA, and Supreme Mathematics: A Cipher.

Normally, I'm not a reader of short stories. This book looked interesting and I won a copy via a giveway here on Goodreads. I've long enjoyed Wu Tang music -- and wasn't quite prepared for what a book inspired by their whole gestalt would be like.

The first story is quite violent - and some of the others were even more violent. There were a couple of stories that didn't seem at all related -- like"Sunshine" - a short story about grief (beautiful and touching). There were several stories with badass, ass-kicking female protagonists. There was a brilliant story of a sad guy thinking about suicide who shares a moment with a ghost who reminds him of what he will be missing. The weirdest one for me was the one with all the astral projection -- and burying a person to break the spell of a mind fungus (or something - it was strange!). Wait - scratch that - the weirdest one was the cannibalism story... that was very strange!

Mostly - these are stories of bad assery and revenge. It's worth a read - the writing is really very good overall, don't feel bad about skipping the end of a story because there are plenty in this little book!

Some of these had more to do with the Wu than some of the others, but all in all a good anthology. A good mix of genres, authors, and topics. My favorite story by far was J. David Osborne's, closely followed by JC Carter's.
