‘The Other Side’ is the true story of a young boy who sees ghosts. With a foreword by Ricky Tomlinson, this autobiographical work examines the life of a child who interacts with the dead on a daily basis, and how the ability to see spirits affects his family and ultimately his adult life. David was born with the gifts most mediums spend a lifetime developing. His story begins in the smog of the British West Midlands, with his mother struggling to bring up four children alone. When her youngest son sees family members who died years before he was born, she takes him to a psychiatrist. The boy gives the doctor a message from his dead wife and is promptly discharged. The teenage David struggles to understand why he is different and is expelled from school at fifteen. His adult life takes us on a journey encompassing poltergeists, bombs, and startling revelations.
So being into spirituality and the afterlife I couldn’t resist not giving this book a whirl and if I remember back it was a recommendation from one of my spiritual magazines.
I always find it fascinating how people get into spiritualism and become a medium.
David has had his gifts from being a young age and has helped many people over the years with passing on messages from the afterlife, healing and helping those who have passed go to the spiritual plane.
While I’ve enjoyed this book, I did find myself skipping some parts of the book therefore the reason why I’ve only rated this book a 3/5.
Sorry but too unbelievable for my liking. From the Indian spirit guide(why are they always American Indians?) to Timothy Evans ( whom it was later discovered didn't kill his wife but almost certainly killed his daughter) then he was in the Birmingham pub bombings, just a bit too contrived for my liking.
David Drew is obviously a very gifted man. I hope that one day his messages will reach everyone that kindness love and unselfishness is what matters. We all have a lot to learn.
