I picked up this book because the book jacket description peaked my curiosity. I continued reading it because it helped me gain insight into how the mind and body can do things that can cause pain or pleasure, lead to depression or joy. I suspect I will need to read portions of this book again because there are so many ideas, ideas that could affect my future living with bipolar disorder and an autoimmune disease. Right now, I feel as if I've been trying to see through a very grimy window, and someone has used a cloth to wipe away just enough so I can see something beyond it.
