I bought this book when it was first published and just found it on my bookshelf. I thought I would give it a read and gave up on the first chapter. It was filled with complete misinformation like what the crime scene looked like. For example, he had stated that “Death To Pigs” and “Helter Skelter” were written at the Polanski residence when they were at the LaBianca residence. Lazy, sloppy journalism. Plus he needs to chill out on the ! key. I found Ed Sanders book The Family to be a far more accurate account.
The story was interesting, but the writing was horrible. For someone who's supposed to be a journalist, he sure doesn't know how to spell. Also, what's with the exclamation marks everywhere??? Good, quick read, but not the best.
I wish I could give this a zero. The only good thing is the pictures in the back of the book. Some that I have never seen before. From page 15 on it has been a painful read, full of errors and inaccuracies.
