This is an alternate-cover edition for B01N9JUOWC.
Above a busy café in central Melbourne an event takes place that dramatically affects the lives of two women: Lisa and Michelle. The secret that they discover rocks them to the core and takes them each on a path of discovery. But despite their polar opposite backgrounds they are both feeling haunted: one by a wealthy and controlling father, the other by a traumatic past and an addiction to illicit liaisons. Will what has been revealed to them be a blessing or a curse as they try and forge ahead to overcome their inner demons? Are they able to help each other weather adversity, and what larger issues are at stake if their unity is destroyed?
"Hi, I'm Felicity. Writing has become a very important part of my life these last few years. It has been a means to bundle my experience as a clinical social worker and aged care specialist and offer it to the health professional community. It has also been a means to express myself creatively. In 2018 my book Counselling and Psychotherapy with Older People in Care: A Support Guide was released through Jessica Kingsley Publishers of London and my debut novel Connected was released mid 2019. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them! I would be very happy to hear your feedback."
Felicity is a psychotherapist, social worker, educator, aged care specialist and novelist who lives in Australia. She is married with two teenage boys and enjoys the mix of a bustling family life, work, time with friends, reading, meditating and solo time for reflection. She is especially drawn to the sensuality of nature and the rugged beauty of her home Down Under: majestic Gums, vibrant wildlife and sunny beaches.
Although I read this book more that a year ago I can still feel the characters of Michelle and Lisa whenever I am reminded of Connected: Bonds Deep. I think this is because there is such a realness to these characters - like they could be your friends, co-workers or neighbours. The author refrains from the use of convoluted language but yet still manages to engage your senses...... you can smell and touch suburban Australia. This is an accessible, raw and heartfelt story. I loved it.
