Something Sweet

Rate this book
Camden has sworn off women. After having his heart broken, and his dreams crushed, he’d rather focus on his work, and not women. However, his closest friends won’t let him hide. They have a woman for him, and they intend to set him up. Alyssa doesn’t need men. She has her friends, and her cooking, and her work. Children, men, and a future are just dreams she no longer believes she will ever need. The moment they meet, sparks fly. Neither of them had anticipated finding love but now their future looked possible together. Romance is in the air, and even as their friends worry about how fast they are moving, there is no way they’re going to stop. Will Alyssa say yes to his proposal? Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

What a wonderful surprise. This book covered all if my "wants"-

-instalove - although they were hesitant about being "hooked up" by their friends, once they met they BOTH fell hard.

-no pushing away -They had endured pretty bad relationships and were gun shy, but they didn't let that hold them back

-no cheating - there was no one else whatsoever

-no ow/om drama - although the failed past relationships were mentioned, no exes appeared in the story at all.

-Camden was a fantastic hero. He loved Alyssa unconditionally and didn't hold her up to unrealistic standards. He made her feel desired and loved.

-Alyssa was so sweet. She was caring and giving. She had a poor body image brought on by assholes in her past. She was hesitant because of it but Camden made her relax and feel worshipped, not judged.

-They had a great set of friends who insisted on then meeting. I did find it odd that they kept trying to slow the couple down. Exactly what they wanted was happening. Just thought that was odd.

-A great epilogue that was 10 years into their future. Right up my alley!

This was very low angst and I know for some that gets boring but that sweetness and light totally works for me.

This just absolutely didn't work for me at all. And honestly I should have put it down 5 pages in but it was so short I figured I would finish it and pray it got better. I just didn't connect to the characters or the story at all which sux because Sam Crescent is one of those authors where it either works for me or it doesn't so on to the next one with fingers crossed.

3.5 stars. This was a super cute read about two people unlucky in love in the past. Their friends introduce them and they're perfect for each other. I have to say though that the cover DOES NOT match the description of the H. In the book he has hair to his shoulders and a beard. The guy on the cover looks like he doesn't have a hair on his body lol. Anyways I look forward to more in this series.

Just...no
This one did not work for me.

Reasons:
1) The Insta-love.
I know this is a short story, but come on. They were on their first date and they're talking about how many kids they wanted. Seriously?
2) Gah, I hate it when the male protagonist repeatedly calls the female protagonist "baby".
(In opinion) this is not sexy or sweet.
While I was reading this part of the book, all I wanted to do was tell him to fuck off!

Sorry to say, but this was not my cuppa :-(

That was so short but surprisingly the love story felt real and the characters were three-dimensional. Hero was a sweetheart and so dreamy! He treated heroine with love and respect and most importantly he loved her curves. Heroine was a bit insecure but not annoying at all. Sex scenes were steamy and the epilogue was super cute! I mean six kids?! I am a happy reader!!!

Adorei.. I loved it...

🥰🥰📚📚

Sam novamente arrasou... Apaixonada por suas story... Essa ganhou meu coração..

Camden e Alyssa😍😍

É uma story curta, delicada e muito, mais muito fofa... O casal e top, não tem como não se encantar e se apaixonar por tudo.. A story mostra que depois da tempestade sempre vem o sol, e isso que aconteceu com o casal, depois da dor veio a felicidade...

Impossible not to love!!!🥰🥰

Well, this definitely was something sweet! This checked all my boxes for a perfect romance. Camden and Alyssa were a great couple. I loved how real and relatable they were. They both were very unlucky in the love department, and were reluctant to enter into another relationship. Their friends knew that they were perfect for each other and insisted they meet. There was an instant connection between them and the rest was history. I was soo glad they got their HEA! Great story that really satisfied my sweet tooth :D!!

Something Sweet is just that, a short romance that after the hero and heroine meet they fall in love. Camden has been hurt before and swore not to do that again but after his friends keep asking him to meet Alyssa he finally does. Alyssa also swore off relationships and hopes never to fall for a man again after repeatedly being hurt but when Camden a mutual friend ask her out she has a hard time saying no. We see these two couples who both been burn by a relationship try to find love once again. Cute story and no other women/man trouble

“Something Sweet” is the short story between Alyssa and Camden.
Both are fixed up by mutual friends- having burnt by respective relationships- initially wary but soon give in.
It was an average read with nothing new to offer. I mean I could predict almost everything.
The only thing I loved was the epilogue.

So Sweet

This was a super cute story of two people who've been burned in the past being setup by well meaning friends...and it turns into a HEA.

The FMC is a curvy girl with some insecurities, which I could relate to. The MMC was dreamy all the way around, major swoon material.

A super cute short and steamy read.

This book is everything it is titled to be. It is super sweet! In fact, it is sugary sweet and I love it! I liked both the hero and heroine. I liked that their friends set them up but I wanted to shout at them to stop meddling and sticking their nose in. I thought Camden and Alyssa were the perfect match for one another. They had instant attraction, similar likes and the same dreams for the future.
The epilogue is super sweet, over all I enjoyed this book, I wasn’t bored once and I liked everything about it.
If you love insta love romances than this book is for you.
The storyline is easy to follow and easy to devour in one sitting. One last thing: I love the cover to this book; I love how the pink catches my eye.

Both Camden and Alyssa have sworn off of relationships after having their hearts broken. Both Alyssa and Camden share the same group of friends. A group of friends that think they’re perfect for one another and keep trying to set them up. When Camden finally gives in and agrees to attend a dinner party at Alyssa’s he gets a shock when she answers the door. As soon as Camden see’s Alyssa he knows that she is the one for him. She is perfect. Alyssa fancies Camden as soon as she see’s him but she has sworn off of men after her last experience with her douchebag ex. But as she spends more time with Camden they grow closer and soon become inseparable. With Camden and Alyssa both sharing the same dreams of marriage and kids, will they get their happily ever after together?

3.5* A very short and sweet story. Both Camden and Alyssa had had bad relationships and sworn off dating and the opposite sex. Both were part of this group of friends/colleagues but somehow they'd never met. Resisting the matchmaking efforts of their mutual friends, it was almost after a year(?) of singlehood before Camden decided to just go to the dinner party to be histed by Alyssa, a great cook.

It was insta-attraction at first sight...and lust too. Love came pretty quickly too as Camden was so sure she's the one. Alyssa was the insecure one, having had so many bad boyfriends previously plus she had the added consciousness of being a big gal.

All the insecurities I can identify with personally being a plus size woman! I love how Camden reassured her and showed her his love, acceptance and loving ng all her curves just as she was!

Very short story, no time for drama. Sweet without being saccharine or diabetic coma-inducing! A great start to a great series of Curvy Women Wanted! I've read two other books in the series and they are equally interesting and sweet.

This is a sweet (no pun intended) story. Camden and Alyssa both have had their hearts broken and avoid romantic relationships. That doesn't stop their friends from setting them up. Sparks fly!

I like/enjoy most of Sam Crescent's stories. The story is listed at only 55 pages (so short!!), but Sam is adept at creating believable characters and situations that I instantly cared about Alyssa and her life. Her relationship with Camden is, of course, insta-love -- even though both weren't looking for a relationship -- with some tender and some sexy scenes. I love these insta-love romances. The only drawback is sometimes you just want the story to go on!

The GoodReads description of the story sort of gives some elements away, so avoid it if you don't want spoilers.

I can’t say it was bad,

but I can’t say it was good either. It was okay. I think for fans of Harmony Raines’s style of writing would like author and this story.

There’s potential in this author. But every book I’ve read so far the stories are always so flat. Something is missing in her writing that would make her books not so forgettable.

Also, ALL her books need better editing. There are always grammar and continuity issues that’s so bad it’s distracting from the story and very annoying.

So with the flat writing and the editing issues I am not her fan but I do keep trying because her synopsis’s are very appealing to me and I want to read what happens.

Camden and Alyssa have both been burned before and weren’t looking for a relationship but their friends kept pushing towards each other. Camden’s first look at Alyssa and he was hooked. Ditto for Alyssa. These two are so cute. I was so happy that Camden saw her for who she was. That regardless of her being curvy, she was BEAUTIFUL. And that is what I love about books like this. I love when a guy doesn’t see the stomach but just the beauty.

One of Sam's Best

This was a very sweet love story. Just the right length to curl up with. Most of the books that I've read lately had more evolved story lines but they didn't always hold my interest. This book was very refreshing. The perfect read to take to bed this night.

Cute little short story. Camden and Alyssa had both been betrayed by the opposite sex but meddling friends brought them together. Short term romance led to a forever love.

Curvy Women Wanted Series - Bk 1- Something Sweet - by Sam Crescent

This is the first book in a new and exciting series by the incredible Sam Crescent and I absolutely loved it! This is a series of shorter romance on the go length reads features beautiful curvy women and the men that love and want them above all others. I had wished it was longer but that is only because I loved it so much. Something Sweet is about a gorgeous curvy girl Alyssa who is trying to move on after her last relationship ended because of the cruel actions of a scam artist and a man who appreciates her just as she is named Camden. Camden is a hard working guy who had his heart broken in the past by a vile woman who was using him.
They have both been hurt in the past by previous relationships and are not wanting to go through that hurt again. However thankfully they share friends who realise exactly how perfect they are for one another and upon their advice decide to give each other a chance. When theh finally meet their attraction and chemistry is absolutely undeniable. In no time they are head over hears with one another and you cant fault that they are perfect together. This story is sinfully sweet and packed with romance, chemistry and a truly well deserved happily ever after for two of the most deserving characters. I really enjoyed this read and have read it more than once. One click now you won't be disappointed. Happy Reading!
Please note that I was given an arc of this book for my honest review which is exactly what I have given.

Omg this was nauseating. Why does a good man have to be so controlling to tell you how to feel about your body? Who knows a guy for a week and let's him have sex without a condom and without consulting you? Is this because she has low self esteem because of her size? How do you decide that this guy is on the up and up and it's love without really knowing the person?I don't get this book, it was so stupid.
