There was a guy named Jeff. He thought he would be the only Running Back until a kid named Scooter came to take his spot. So they would be mean to each other and get each other in trouble while they both compete for the Running Back position.
I would give the book 3 out of 5 stars because the title doesn't go with the whole story.
I recommend this book to people who like sports and fighting for what they want..
Books that are similar to this book are The Wrestling Life Wrestling Life 2 and Football Nightmares because they all want the same thing to keep and stay your spot in football.

This review is about Paul Hoblin’s The Clutch.
The book starts with the main character in Jordan Bailey Jr also known as Streak standing on the sidelines with his football teammates as the crowd is chanting “STREAK, STREAK, STREAK” over and over again. His friend Lance is in the crowd starting the chants. He used to be on the football team until the coach kicked him off or in his words he quit, but back to Jordan. He is watching the coach play his son in Curt Cole, the starting quarterback. They play for Clover Ridge but they’re getting boos from the crowd even though they’re about to win and going on a 6 straight game winning streak. They want to see Jordan go in the huddle, call a deep pass and throw the ball as far as he can. But that won't happen because he’s on the bench like usual. They end up winning the game but a few games later the starting quarterback in Curt gets injured and now all the pressure is on Jordan now.

I like that Paul didn't just have Jordan ride the bench all book he really let him shine for a majority of the book. Curt got injured early on and Jordan took over and it had Lance join the team again. The crowd got what they wanted and they got to see Lance and Jordan dominate.

I recommend this book to people who like sports, the underdog coming on top and people who just want to read a good book. It is a good quality reading book. My favorite part was when Lance and Jordan convinced Jordan’s dad to let Jordan play football.
