Rate this book
Stacker works graveyards at the Megamarket on the edge of town. Disillusioned and disenfranchised by the modern age, he nullifies his perpetual existential crisis with a menu of drink and drugs and misbehaviour. A chance meeting leads him into the orbit of Colby Stein, the charismatic leader of a group who call themselves the Consequence Men. Stein's philosophy is that the fear of consequence stops people acting in an authentic way. As the spiral of nihilism and violence escalates, Stacker comes to realise that from some consequences there is no escape.

The most engaging story I've read in a long time. Fascinating characters, clever plot twists, worth a read.

Stacker works nights at Megamarket, the all powerful global retail empire. Disgruntled and disenfranchised with the modern age, he spends his days nullifying his existential crisis. A chance turn of events lead him into the orbit of Colby Stein, the charismatic leader of a group of outsiders and misfits who call themselves the Consequence Men. It's not long before Stacker finds himself locked into an escalating spiral of violence and nihilism. He soon realises that from some consequences there is no escape.
